What are the extra fees for DVC above and beyond the purchase price? Can anyone give me specifics please?

How much is SSR per point. and if before 2/1 you get 15% off that?

So how much would 200 points be and the extra fees? Thanks!

Disney pay all your closing costs, there are the annual dues which you can pay in full or monthly, if you finance your DVC purchase it could be tax deductable as a vacation ownership, consult your CPA.

We started with 170 points as we already have 3 other deeded timeshares, in September on the cruise we added another 170 points and DH would be willing to sell the others and replace them with points.

We have used our DVC mainly for 7 night cruises and a HHI vacation but we have exchanged our weeks for Hawaii, Vegas, atlantic city, kissimmee (?), Australia, Greece, Portugal, Mexico , Tenerife and probably a few forgotten ones, you could do all this using your points as well.

Being from SA where the reserve bank control the funds in and out of the country and you have a yearly allowance for travel this gave us the means to do it, stay in wonderful places and pay for it all there using timeshare, so naturally for us when we moved here it was one of our first purchases.

Great new pic, I was wondering when you were going to put up one as I missed seeing the kids happy faces. You all look great in your matching colors, have you tried doing a small logo design for his shirt that would not be too much just to get him started???

Thanks. Good idea about a small logo, but he is a knit shirt/Polo/long sleeve button down type guy.

Kristine your hair looks great & I agree you look to young to be a grandmother ::yes::

Boma is great, and I've been with a couple of picky eaters (myself included!), and there is plenty of variety. Even some of the stuff that might be more "African" is actually recognizable (fish, chicken, etc.), and the difference is in how it's prepared. Plus, there's the kiddie buffet that typically has chicken tenders, spaghetti, mac and cheese, etc., if an adult were to get desperate.

Plus, with it being a buffet, if you don't like something, you can go back and keep trying stuff until you find what you like. I HIGHLY recommend it!

Hi Denise,

Good to hear from you and goodluck on the DVC.

Becky

I am 15 months older than my DH! My motto when we first started dating was "get them young and train them right". :duck: Just kidding though. We were 16 & 17 when we started dating.

You can iron on a small design on a matching polo shirt for your DH. What about a bowling type shirt with a design on the back?

Boy,having a 5th person really adds on to DVC. I can't do the one bdr, I have to get a 2 bdr. that means I'd need at least 300 points (or more) for summer, fall, and winter. I wish they'd let you put a 5th person in a one bdr. The kids would sleep on an air mattress. Any suggestions? Guess I'm looking at a 300 point purchase if we do it. :confused3

I agree on this one. We also have 5 people. It is harder to make the numbers work for a family of 5. You buy more points, but then the annuals dues are more. I can't see a big benefit for my family. I keep hoping that I'm missing something, but so far no one has shown me what it is.

So based on my earlier post about a big family trip, I am contemplating shirts. The trip will be
Me, DD and maybe DH
Parents and DSis3
DSis1 and her DH, DD and DS
DSis2 and her DH

Would it be too much to have all of our shirts be the same color and design? I am contemplating having everyone have the same design and each "family unit" have the same color on a given day. Anyone have any thoughts? We probably won't be all together for more than a meal a day and a few major things like parades/shows, but I am hoping for a few good family photos.

Thanks!!

We did a trip with 9 of us. We all wore matching lime green shirts with a simple design on them. The lime green caught everyone's attention. I would be alone and strangers would say "Oh your group it over there". It was easy to keep together. We also had yellow and navy blue shirts, but they didn't get noticed like the lime green.

Would he wear a button with the logo on it. You can get kits for those 2" buttons and put any design in them. Then he could wear whatever shirt and just pin the button on.

That's a GREAT idea, Deb! I know he'd wear a button, especially if it had the kids on it. Thanks!

BTW, we got the most attention in the lime green as well. Definitely will use that color again.

The Park Place Inn has mini-suites. Park Vue is not a suite type hotel, but they do have microwaves, coffee makers, and small refrigerators in their rooms. Very convenient for us. Some people really don't like the Park Vue, but we don't mind it. We're not there too long each day, so it was fine for us. Big selling point is the location. Both these hotels are located right by an IHOP. Every day after 4 (I think) kids eat free with a paying adult. That saved us a ton of money. We went with a group of 20 people; 10 adults and 10 children. It worked out nicely for us all!
Thanks for the info. I'll have to check out Park Place Inn. The IHOP sounds cool. We ate at Mimi's Cafe and Baker's Square. Mostly on-site, though. This time with 2 teenage boys we'll probably do more off site due to cost.

The one my older daughter is wearing is a ringer tee. Couldn't find them in the small sizes at the time for my younger daughter.
