Well my friends, let this be a lesson to you. Don't leave your Christmas stockings hanging on the mantel until well into January if you have a curious 5 year old. Christopher stared at his so long he thought Santa came back and left something in it. When he pulled on the stocking the cast iron stocking holder fell off and hit him in the head twice. He has a cut in his scalp and his forehead split and has a little knot. Fortunately the cut on his forehead was very small. Had it been any larger it may have required stitches. It's also fortunate that he's very hard headed ;) . You think I would have learned my lesson after he pulled the last hanger off and broke it.

Some of us have been talking about Disneyland. Well, I have found a wonderful website for DL- it's called Vision Fantastic. The website is........ http://visionsfantastic.com/main.php

they have music you can download and everything! Make sure you check it out and let me know what you think!

I don't know how you do it Kate. You are truly amazing. Thank you so much. You should see my autographs books. They really look great. What a good idea you had.

Tammi you have just reminded me - I made an autograph book for our last trip - I created a page for each character with their name written on and then some clip art and maybe the lyrics of a song as the border. It took hours - well I enjoyed the photo impact bit but the printing/cutting out and making the book took so long I nearly didn't bother...

but the characters LOVED it!

I listed them all alphabetically so it was easy to find them and would have the page ready each time. When we went to see flik I couldn't find his page - I was quite confused as I knew I'd done one - the CM saw my book and loved it - I said I could't find flik so I'd just do a photo - but she pulled me to one side and had me find it (the two pages were stuck together) then put us back in front of the line. Flik was GREAT - he kept pointing to the page and then the CM and doing the blushing action - then he would point at hopper (I put associated character clip art on someof the pages) and would quiver with his hands over his eyes!

I got such a buzz when the characters showed they liked my book - and I got more attention than some of the kids in line - so my advice is definitely take a personalised book - it will be so worth it for extra interaction ::yes::

I'm more than happy to package up my images and email them onto anyone who wants to see - or doesn't have time to make their own :flower3:

We bought 200pts at SSR. The price was $98.00 per pt, $19,600. With the 15% discount, that brought the price per point down to $83.30 or $16,660. Disney offers financing, with their interest rate of 9.75%. If we would have financed for 10yrs., our payment would have been 192, 7 yrs. 242.14, 5 yrs. 310.53, 3 yrs. 472.60. We opted to pay it with our equity loan, as the interest rate on that is 2 pts. better. For 2006, their maintenance fee is $3.3808 per pt, so for 200 pts. it is 796.16/yr or 66.35/mo.

Ok so $16.6k gets you 200 points at SSR - which is enough for two weeks in a studio in choice season. So you get that same 200 points every year right? just for that initial down payment and the monthly fees?

How many years is the contract for?

That's great news, Denise!! I am very jealous. Seems like I'm working for the wrong company when it comes to bonuses.

That's just what I was thinking - takes me 10 years to get that kind of bonus - if I'm a very very good girl! :rotfl:

Thanks for that information, Clare! I'll definitely save this to do comparisons with. And thanks for the offer to post them to me if necessary! :) :goodvibes

Beth

No worries! Looks like there's one thing that it helps to be from the UK on - they have to do something to encourage us over it costs so much to get there!

Happy to help out any of my DDA friends ::yes::

I would love to convince myself that we should get AP's, because then I wouldn't feel like we were "wasting" a day if we only want to go into a park for an evening after a water park day.

Beth

That's the beneift of our ultimate tickets - because you're not counting days you can just go in for the fireworks after a day at the mall.

A lot of people on the UK forum are always saying 14 days is too many - I want to go to universal - why not just buy a 7 or 10 day magic your way - but it's like £10 difference in the price and a completer no brainer to me - means you can go to a park in the morning and if it pours down with rain you don't have to stick around for fear of wasting a day - you just head to the mall and come back tomorrow :upsidedow Or you can go to universal in the day and when it shuts early head over to MK for wishes :flower3:

Hope your ds is feeling better today. Besides the knot on the head was he upset that Santa had not returned? :goodvibes

Denise, did you wear more short sleeve or long sleeve? I too am planning the December trip now and am not sure about the weather....
It was hit or miss when we were there in December. Out of 8 days in the park we wore short sleeves only 3 days. The other days we layers turtlenecks underneath our tshirts. You can always put clothes under your tshirts if it is cold, but if it is warm and all you have are long sleeves, you're stuck.

Hugs for Christopher, and you too! We lost 2 of those cast iron stocking hangers this year, too. Luckily they landed on the marble hearth instead of heads. I was relieved to see that the marble didn't crack!

Ouch! I'm glad that it wasn't worse. I hope Christopher is feeling fine now.

I used Kate's suggestion and just took the pages and a clipboard, sealed in a zippy bag. When an autograph was gotten, we would then leave that page behind. Yesterday I spent the day scrapping pictures to go along with the autograph page and put them into a book. It really looks nice.

The contract at SSR is for 50 yrs. after that it reverts back to Disney ownership. You get an additional 200 pts every year, for us every August. You can save up to 3 years worth of points, or you can borrow into the next years points. For instance, if you have 200 pts and you need 250 for the resort you want, you can borrow 50 pts from next year. However when the time comes, you would then only get 150 pts that year.

Actually, he took that part pretty well. When he realized there was nothing in his stocking he decided to play Santa. He filled my stocking up with his hotwheel cars and brought to me saying "look mama, Santa brought you something". :goodvibes

Oh how sweet :goodvibes Glad to hear he was not upset.
