I want to share something that happened this morning but I don't want to offend anyone religiously.....anyway..........

My DS8....Alex....has asked the last couple of months about heaven and hell and being a Christian. We just plant the seeds and let him ask the questions. Well this morning he asked me......."if God has a plan for everyones life when they are born then why do some people still go to Hell".....well if that didn't open a door for me to talk to him. I explained that God has a plan for everyone but he can't make someone accept Jesus into their heart. They have to do that by themselves by praying the prayer of salvation. I then explained to him the prayer of salvation......admit, believe, confess..... what it meant and how to say it. He asked me if I could help him say the prayer......WELL IF THAT WASN"T THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY MORNING!!!!

I am defenitely on cloud 9 this morning.......I hope no one is offended by me sharing this with my DDA friends.

It really makes you feel good as a parent when you, as you said, plant the seed, and then it's like a lightbulb comes on. They actually 'get it' and start thinking about it on their own. Sounds like you get an A+ for the day in parenting.

so the other night I said to DH - we should think about getting an AP - he said - there is no thinking about it - that is a no brianer!!!

No wonder I love him so much!!!!

I posted a few days ago regarding having to take Kirsten to a pediatric eye doctor...well, she has very poor vision in one eye plus "lazy eye" This requires patching for 4 hours per day. Since taking this picture, things have gone steadily down hill...the adhesive on the patch bothers her skin, she has been crying for 2 hours. Does anyone have any suggestions? I tried a "pirates patch" which was way too big for her.

My DH is partially deaf so my kids have had annual hearing checks since birth - Julia is due for one anyway so I will schedule it

Just so you all know -my MIL and her sister were both elementary teachers which is what gives her expertise on this topic

my dh is hard of hearing, as well as my 2 boys (now 20 and 17) my dd has wonderful hearing!! (and we get it checked also!) (just dh and ds 20 wear hearing aids)

and just so you know I'm an elementary teacher - so your friend on the DIs supports YOU - sorry, I'm also a mom, a teacher, and I believe in magic!! (of all kinds!!)

I'm late for work or I'd respond to others, I apologize, this just jumped out at me, dont know if I missed a post on why that gives your mil the "right" to tell you how to raise your child... (sorry, stepping off soap box, but stopping long enough to tell you - you get to decide!!)

I'm off to check out the suburbs .... which this time, since we've been here for days, means kill some time at the mall, etc!

I'm headed home in about 6 hours!!!!!!!! I probably won't be on until late tonight or tomorrow, and school starts tomorrow. Well -- it started yesterday, but who's keeping track?

I'll have to check it out. We wore our first tape completely out last year and I tried to find a replacement. Couldn't find one on ebay or in any of the stores. I finally ordered it direct from the Disney site, but they didn't offer it on DVD. I'll keep checking. With as much as my kids watch it, I'd like it in a format that won't wear out as much.

My father bought us a tape a few years ago called "A Day at Disneyland". It is a fantastic look at most of the rides at the park. However, it's older, and doesn't include any of the stuff from CA, or the newer rides in DL. I'll be really sad when that tape wears out. There is no replacement for that! Yikes.

Let me know if you can't find it. I can pick it up the next time I am there and ship it to you.

What a morning @ your house- all I have done is feed the dog, have coffee & snuggle with DD, but I am home with a migraine, so I predict a lazy day here.

Well, I think God is telling me not to clean today. I was vacuuming and I smashed the lightbulb in the ceiling fan above my head when I was trying to put the extension nozzle back in the Dyson's frame. Thank goodness Alyssa was nowhere near me and I am fine too. However, I did have a big mess to clean up.

No more cleaning...Grandma's going to have to deal with my dirty house for five days.
