finally caught up.
DD and I are bothsuffering from allergies. cedar to be precise. So I am very proud of myself for reading all 40 pages that was posted thur night, yesterday and today with itchy eyes and all.

Where did you go to school?

At one point or another, I have played piano, b flat soprano clarinet, bass clarinet, alto saxophone, tenor saxophone, trumpet, trombone. I also used to sing in choirs.

In high school I took some theory classes and I considered majoring in music but couldn't dedicate myself to that many hours in a practice room. To me it is fun and spending the amount of hours in a practice room in order to major in it would have turned it into work for me.

Wow, Becky! I thought I played a lot of instruments, but I never ventured outside of the woodwind arena. Never did bassoon or the "bigger" woodwinds (like bass clarinet or tenor sax), but tried just about everything else.

I went to Syracuse. Where did you go?

I have a really good friend who should have been a music major but wasn;t. I was about her decision, but reading your view on the situation puts it in perspective for me.

I'm glad to know that it's not just a Utah thing. Truthfully, it's one of the best snacks!

WOW! That's a pretty impressive resume you have there!! Isn't it wonderful to have a job you just adore? IF I could play the piano (Like I said before- I play almost everything else BUT the piano) I would spend my days playing, singing and teaching it. I love music and I love to sing. There's just something about music that lifts your soul! You are one lucky (and obviously very skilled) lady!

Nope! My mother didn't raise any stupid children... My older DD studied voice with a friend who sings with the Virginia Opera as well as the Met summer season in Italy, and my younger DD studied piano with two other teachers at our school. I figured there were larger battles I needed to win than piano and voice!

How bad is It's Tough To Be A Bug? Everyone is wanting to me see it this time & I am still not sure I will like it. I do not care for bugs either & the thought of a spider or something like that coming at me gives me the heebie jeebies

We saw it when my boys were 8 and 9 and we all loved it. It was a great show. I plan on taking my 5 year old when we go in Feb.

Oh yeah! Great big Kosher dill pickles! They are so good. Some theaters will also serve hot dogs (gag). I was looking forward to that pickle, since I knew there would be absolutely nothing else I could have eaten. Well, I guess I could have ordered the nachos and just eaten the cheese sauce, but have you ever tried to do that?

We do lots of unique things here in Utah. We are number one in the country for Jell-O consumption. Bill Cosby even came during the Olympics to congratulate us. There was even a highly coveted Olympic pin where lime jello figured prominently. I have one of those! We also do a yummy thing here called "fry sauce." Ketchup and mayo mixed together till it's all creamy and yummy. Sometimes people even add a little bbq sauce in it for a kick.

I'll have to see if I can think of some more. Oh yeah! Funeral potatoes. It's a pretty standard dish here.

Too funny about the Jell-o. This past week at our Brownie meeting we read our postcard from Utah and it says the #1 Lime Green Jell-o consumers, my Brownies got a kick out of that.

My Brownie troop is doing a postcard exchange with hopefully all 50 states plus Washington D.C. (Right now we are missing Montana, North Dakota, Iowa, and Pennsylvania-I guess no one wants to exchange with the state they live in.) At our meeting this past week we prepared our postcards. We also read the postcards we received from other states and colored them in on a map.

Ya know what's so funny though? The person that complained about the "mandatory" word to me is a friend of mine! I came right out and told him that I was the one that used that word and he quieted down real quick. Well- today was the day for the meeting. the turn out was great! I explained to him the using that word was an unfortunate choice of word and said I was sorry. He just hung his head and that he hoped I had noticed that he hadn't said anything about that "word" today! And what's best about the whole thing is ..... by the time the meeting was over, his attitude about the whole thing had TOTALLY changed! He is so excited about this activity now!
Thanks everyone for your advice- I'm glad I just kinda sat back and let it go. I don't think I would've done that if I hadn't had another's opinion on it, and I had almost no anxiety over it either! You guys are the good guys!!

This is not just a 3-d movie it is a 4-d experience. So there are parts where they have it seem like the bugs are down on the ground at your feet and also where it feels like they are walking underneath your butt. They also drop spiders from the ceiling on web. Alot of people are not expecting these additional effects and it really freaks them out.

After reading your post, I would probably suggest you do not attend this attraction, or if you do sit near the exit door so you can leave if need be.

Thanks Becky. This event is going to be somethign else let me tell you. It will involve about 2500 kids (Girls and Boys) between the ages of 12 and 18, and about 500 adults. We're doing a Dance Festival. The kids are learning 12- 14 dances, all kinds from all nations. It's being held in Coliseum in Portland which is a huge arena. We saw all the costumes today- they're gorgeous! So far it seems very well organized and put together. THere will be a choir, and acting, solos etc. I was very impressed! It looks like it's gonna be awesome!!! I'll let you all know how things go as we come closer to the performance date which is june 24. I'm very excited!!

Just got back from the movies, we sat in from t of the noisiest people, they never stopped for a minute and were driving me crazy.

Tomorrow we are off to the aquarium and hope it is not tooo hectic there else we will do another drive by and come on home.

The funeral potatoes sound yummy all ways so I will have to try them with the chicken soup as DH doesn't eat mushroom.
I made the taco soup last night for dinner and that was good too and easy.

Hope everyone is having a great W/E.
