I think I agree with this. It's tough, though. And it probably doesn't even matter that you used the "mandatory" word. You and I both know that there are people who won't come to the meeting anyway, and you'll be getting calls from them for the information. Just be your pleasant self, and things will smooth over.

Good luck. PM me if you want to talk some more about it.

Thanks Glynis and Kristine! Sometimes it's just hard to know exactly what you should do- ya know what I mean???
Ya know what's so funny though? The person that complained about the "mandatory" word to me is a friend of mine! I came right out and told him that I was the one that used that word and he quieted down real quick. Well- today was the day for the meeting. the turn out was great! I explained to him the using that word was an unfortunate choice of word and said I was sorry. He just hung his head and that he hoped I had noticed that he hadn't said anything about that "word" today! :flower3: And what's best about the whole thing is ..... by the time the meeting was over, his attitude about the whole thing had TOTALLY changed! He is so excited about this activity now!
Thanks everyone for your advice- I'm glad I just kinda sat back and let it go. I don't think I would've done that if I hadn't had another's opinion on it, and I had almost no anxiety over it either! You guys are the good guys!! :sunny:

Funeral potatoes are sometimes called Company potatoes, too. It's a side dish casserole made with hash browns, cream of mushroom or chicken soup, onions, sour cream and lots of cheese. It's really good. My mom would always make some to take to funeral luncheons, and I loved it because she would make some for us as well. She never just made them for us, we always had to wait for a funeral. Hence the name, funeral potatoes.

How interesting...I have this recipe...except you top the casserole with cornflakes & then bake. It is one the post popular recipes I make for holiday gatherings. Too bad it has sooooo may calories.

It is really good, and if it didn't have potatoes in it, I would make it for myself. So, yummy!

Glad to hear everything is fixed! I do believe a thermo coupler(sp)regulates the tempature(I am probably wrong lol).

KristineN said:
Both are fixed!!! Furnace needed a thermo-coupler (whatever that is) and the plumber gave me a lecture about "you should always use lint traps" The temp is up to 60 degrees...it was getting mighty cold in here.

Oh yeah! Great big Kosher dill pickles! They are so good. Some theaters will also serve hot dogs (gag). I was looking forward to that pickle, since I knew there would be absolutely nothing else I could have eaten. Well, I guess I could have ordered the nachos and just eaten the cheese sauce, but have you ever tried to do that?

We do lots of unique things here in Utah. We are number one in the country for Jell-O consumption. Bill Cosby even came during the Olympics to congratulate us. There was even a highly coveted Olympic pin where lime jello figured prominently. I have one of those! We also do a yummy thing here called "fry sauce." Ketchup and mayo mixed together till it's all creamy and yummy. Sometimes people even add a little bbq sauce in it for a kick.

I'll have to see if I can think of some more. Oh yeah! Funeral potatoes. It's a pretty standard dish here.

I think you forgot the red punch... right??? :teeth:

I've had it that way, too. Way yummy! I've also had it with crushed potato chips on top, bread crumbs under a coating of cheese on top. Any way you make it it is the best.

That is WONDERFUL!! I am happy for you...It took me a long time to be able to sit back. I think all of us have a natural defense mechanism...unfortunately sometimes it makes matters worse. Give yourself a slap on the back...you deserve it!

Thanks! It's so hard, but I think I'm learning!!

Yes it's so versatile. I usually use frozen hasbrowns...1 time I thought I'd shred my own potatos...wow...that was a lot of work.

See y'all later. We are kid-less...and dh and I are going to a Japanese restauant with another couple.

Have fun!

yeah Brendita you found us.
Have the papers been served yet. :confused3
Yes he was served Thursday evening.
All he said was does Ramiro know about this?
I answered yes he is fully aware of it.
So far no problems.
I haven't felt this good in a long time.
I just feel @ peace with myself.
Like when you really need to do something.
You just keep putting it off.
Then you finally do it.

Brendita I'm glad to hear that you are at peace with your decision about this. That will make it a lot easier if you have no dounbts in your mind. Hope it continues for you!
