Glynis said:I think I agree with this. It's tough, though. And it probably doesn't even matter that you used the "mandatory" word. You and I both know that there are people who won't come to the meeting anyway, and you'll be getting calls from them for the information. Just be your pleasant self, and things will smooth over.
Good luck. PM me if you want to talk some more about it.
Thanks Glynis and Kristine! Sometimes it's just hard to know exactly what you should do- ya know what I mean???
Ya know what's so funny though? The person that complained about the "mandatory" word to me is a friend of mine! I came right out and told him that I was the one that used that word and he quieted down real quick. Well- today was the day for the meeting. the turn out was great! I explained to him the using that word was an unfortunate choice of word and said I was sorry. He just hung his head and that he hoped I had noticed that he hadn't said anything about that "word" today!
And what's best about the whole thing is ..... by the time the meeting was over, his attitude about the whole thing had TOTALLY changed! He is so excited about this activity now! Thanks everyone for your advice- I'm glad I just kinda sat back and let it go. I don't think I would've done that if I hadn't had another's opinion on it, and I had almost no anxiety over it either! You guys are the good guys!!
