The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 9

The girls are having a good time in Japan. They have 1-1/2 days left before getting on the plane to come home. They have now been to a temple/shrine as well as the sushi place & a curry place. They said they were chanting while they were there. They also got to go to some shops around the shrine which were more of the Japanese culture. They said that they liked Disneyland but it was very Americanized as are most of the shops in Tokyo. They said it is kind of strange because they don't understand most of what is being said around them. They said that they stand out because of their blond hair and have gotten some attention because of it. They are hoping to get on the train but one of Bill's stepkids hurt herself yesterday when they were supposed to go. I hope that they can do it today or tomorrow. Katrina says that the Japanese are very friendly and polite.

Chuck asked them if they saw any cute Japanese boys and they said no. However, Becky said that they saw quite a few men in uniforms (they are staying on the base where my brother is stationed - he is a civilian that works for the Air Force). Chuck didn't like hearing that!! I've told him before, if he doesn't want to know the answer, not to ask! :rotfl:

Hi

Thanks to everyone who PM'd me to see if I am still alive. I have the sinus infection from you-know-where going on 2 1/2 weeks!!!!! Today is day 8 of anibiotics but I am still all stuffed up :sad2: Last week I didn't have a voice at all and spent all my time in bed with my tissue and cough medicine. Kyle did his best to take care of me, bringing me his stuffed animals and blanket from his bed and his sippy cup of water and kept asking "Are you feeling better yet?"

Anyway, hope all is well with the DDA! For those who asked, our trip is still Nov 26 to 12-3 at POR (requested Oak Manor). I will probably miss Pal Mickey's nupituals as that is my niece's 2nd bday and we are having dinner at 1900 PF and spending our last night at MK with the family. We are doing MVMCP on Thursday 11/30. DH and I are doing the 6:45 Candlelight Processional on 11/28 for my birthday and 8:10 dinner at Le Cellier.

Take Care!
Kristin
:wizard: that you feel better SOON!

Vicki how are the wedding plans for Mickey/minnie coming?

Well, the dress & accessories are bought. I need to get the dress altered to fit her better. Mickey already has his tux. I got to figure out what we are doing for rings. Any ideas? They have their going away outfits to wear. However, Mickey & Minnie have told me that they think they should have something with a pirate theme for the Wishes cruise because the theme of is pirates. I think they will have to live with a bandana and patch on their eye.

We need to get all the attendants figured out. I know that Stephanie has an idea for the best man and maid of honor but don't know what that idea is. We need a flower girl & ring bearer. We need a justice of the peace. I need to find the words to the wedding ceremony for the justice of the peace to read. What other attendants are necessary?

I have to get photographer lined up and someone to take the official video so that we can share it with the DDA upon our return.

I'm working on the invitations to be sent out. I really need to get a list put together on everything that I need to do. I mean after all I only have 5 months.

Aren't you sorry you asked??!! :lmao:

I just posted this on the Disney Dining Plan board but wanted to ask everyone here as well.

DH & I are going for a trip in December. I'm considering the DDP. However, we have both cut back quite a bit on our portions in the last year as a weight loss measure. There is no way that we could eat an appetizer, entree & dessert at a meal. We'd be lucky to eat all of that if we shared. Can we order just one meal per sitting and share with the DDP? So then we could have two sit down meals a day. Or do you both have to use the DDP when dining together? I really don't know if it is worth it for us. I'm happy to leave more of a tip for the servers since we would be sharing a meal and it would still be extra work with the extra person.

How big are their hands are their fingers sewed together? If so then you may have to go with Bracelets instead.
Are we going to throw rice, rose petals or blow bubbles when the ceremony is over? Where is the Ceremony taking place? don't forget music. :lmao:

Just a fly by post.

Update on my transfer.
I didn't get the it.
Reason being all our Lexford division sold yesterday.
I didn't want to also transfer companies.
So back to looking at job postings in my field.

Not happy we won't be moving.
I'm happy to be staying with my company.
I will just have to keep looking.

I can't say thank you all enough for your good wishes.

So what is everyones plans for the forth of July?

We will be going to Engadine to my Mom's. My sister and her two kids will be there visiting. We will walk/run in the Black Bear Run which is a 6k and 12k that my dad was involved in making successful. We do the 6k. Becky started it when she was 2 (one week shy of being 3). She got the youngest person plaque for a couple years. She was the youngest one ever until my neice did it when she was 2 (one month shy of 3). They actually both walked the whole thing. Grandma wouldn't carry them at all. Of course, they did a lot of stopping, sitting, playing with flowers, etc. but they completed it. We haven't done it every year but they've probably done it 10-12 times in the last 16 years.

Becky will go straight to my mom's from the airport on Friday night. Chuck & I would normally go over on Saturday but with his health, we will wait and go on Sunday and come back after the race on Tuesday. Katrina is hoping to get down for at least a day to see the kids.

I think you are right. I'm probably going to need some kind of bracelets. Maybe I can make some beaded ones with a saying on them. I'll have to look.

We don't throw rice anymore because it is bad for the animals to eat it (or at least that is what my family has heard). I was thinking we'd throw bird seed but I like the blowing bubbles better. I think the kids that are attending would enjoy that. The ceremony will be at the Contemporary (out on the grounds probably). Oh, I forgot about the music. I'll have to work on that. I wonder if I can download the wedding march from the internet? I'm still working on Chuck to walk the bride down the aisle. Haven't convinced him yet. Still working on it though.

What else do I have to add to my list? I've got it started now!

Sorry that you did not get it. However, did you not get it or decide not to pursue it? I'm glad that you are happy to be staying with your company. I'll keep sending pixiedust: your way that you find some place to transfer soon.

I'm wondering what Terry has planned for Tommy for the 4th of July. That was her one request. She really wanted to have a Pal there for the 4th. With all that she does on a daily basis, I'm expecting something really amazing on the 4th. :lmao:

I sure hope that Chuck gets better soon so that I can go back to playing dumb. :rotfl: He has always done the grilling. I really wasn't interested so never paid attention. When he'd ask me to do it for some reason, I'd play the dumb card. Well, with him sick, I showed him today that I really do know how. He told me my barbeque ribs & corn were cooked better than when he does it so I should always do it. Yeah right!!! I don't think so!!!! :rotfl2:

Tuesday dawned with more rain but MTM was getting tired of his rain gear so I decided it was time for a change. Since Madras is all the rage now, I did manage to find these Madras shorts for him.

we could not decide if the brim of the hat should be down or up. :goodvibes

We went back to one of our favorite places for lunch and had their Margarita Pizza. A few months back we signed up for a taste-testing and really liked it and were anxiously awaiting for its arrival.

See you tomorrow :thumbsup2

Duh I meant bird seed that is what we did at our wedding. actually we did both bird seed and bubbles.

Invitations are you going to mail one to all the dda's or Post it here. You could just PM the Invite to everyone.

I sure hope that everyone that is in the flooding areas are safe. Prayers & pixiedust: that it doesn't cause any damage for you & yours.

So what is everyones plans for the forth of July?

Leaving Friday night for a camping trip. We're going to a KOA about 35 miles north of home. Have a Kamping Kabin (contains a double bed and bunk beds to sleep a total of 4), has electricty and airconditioning, and the campground has a pool. So, it's camping with a little comfort! Flush toilets and hot showers in a separate building. This one even has cable TV hookups. No internet, though. We are staying 4 nights, so will be back Tuesday night. I'm looking forward to just hanging around the pool, reading and relaxing for 4 days!
