Hi All --
We just got back from WDW tonight. I had a conference there Sun - Wed, and DBF tagged along to keep me company. We stayed at Yacht Club, which is the hotel where he is a CM, so he worked while I worked. Since our APs have expired and we didn't want to spend the money this time to renew them, this was our non-park trip. I know, sounds odd to most of you, but since we go every couple of months, we were okay with that. After my conference on Sun, we had planned to play in the Yacht & Beach Club pool (with the neato sand bottom) and laze around drinking adult beverages. Then Monday we were going to sneak off to St. Augustine for a beach day (I didn't have any conference stuff that day) and to eat at DBF's favorite restaurant there: Sharky's Shrimp Shack. We usually spend every 4th of July at NASCAR at Daytona and stay in St. Augustine, adding some beach days after the races. We aren't going this year, so Monday was to be our St. Augustine day.
Well, the weather didn't want to cooperate with either our Sun or Mon plans. It was a torrential downpour off and on due to TS Alberto. So it was everyone out of the pool! And Mon it just wasn't safe to drive 2 hrs. to St. Aug and 2 hrs. back. Berry is very blue since he loves St. Aug and was really looking forward to getting one day there this summer. Have to figure out how to make it up to him.
On a bright note, all of my work stuff went well. We took a bunch of clients to dinner at Todd English's bluezoo which is in the WDW Swan. The food is fabulous!!!!!!!!!!!! I've not spent much time at the Swan or Dolphin since they aren't Disney-owned hotels, so it was nice to discover a new-to-us restaurant. (Berry was able to join us at dinner which was nice for me. I hate going off to nice client dinners and leaving him behind to have something warmed in the micro or McD's.) The waitstaff at bluezoo was also top notch. They gave each dish a special flourish and explained what was on the plate and why that combo of flavors and textures. They were informative and fun without being intrusive. They also recommended some wonderful wines I'd never tried before. And they have this adult beverage called a zooberry: blueberries soaked in vodka for 2-3 days, then the vodka is poured into a martini glass with a splash of simple syrup to bring out the sweetness in the berries and a dash of lemon juice to finish it off.
The weather cleared up by late afternoon yesterday creating a lovely evening! Berry and I took ourselves over to Winter Summerland for a little mini golf. I adore WS!! The summer side is my favorite. It was nice to do something summery after the rest of the weekend had been a wash out -- literally!!
Then I was up and out the door this morning at 6:30 am for another client doodad, then back to the room for more work, work, work before we dashed for the airport. We are home now and having the after Disney blues.
We saw Cars on Sat night before we left for FL, and again on Sun night (what else do you do on a rainy night at Disney but see a Disney movie on the big screen!). We had on the Cars shirts I'd made us. Our friend went with us on Sat night and wore the shirt I'd made her, and we shipped the shirt for her boyfriend off to Baghdad. We created quite a splash wherever we went!!
Thanks to Kate for the Cars squares design. I'll have to take a photo of all of us (including our BABW stuffies) in our Cars shirts.
Anyway, I'm just pooped from the trip and my work stuff. I'm traveling next week for work as well as the week after. Just the thought makes me put off booking my flight.
So that's where I've been and why I'm behind on everyone's news. Please PM the cliff notes. It sounds like Glynis has a version. Plus Vickie is always so good about that too.

and

to all who need/deserve it, as well as all you humble ones who never ask but could use a squeeze and a sprinkle as well.
