Wow is that rather strange. What was the end result?
She ended up just filing the claim with Disney and didn't do anything else. She was told she'd get a response within 5 business days; I told her give Disney 10 and then contact me if nothing was done about it.
So we'll see! (She did have a BLAST though!)

 Hi All! I'm finally all caught up. :cool1: I've been trying for weeks and the server problems haven't been helping. And even though I tried to read every post I still think that I was missing some-I don't think the pages were always loading right.

I've been so crazed the past few weeks. I think taking 2 vacations in 1 month was the start of making me crazy and then things seem so out of control at home with all the end of year stuff. BUT...none of you have been far from my mind.

Denise-I am soooo happy to hear that Rees is doing so well! I'm sure you'll have a great trip to the beach! And congrats on the job too. I am sure your kids will love ASMo. I went with Joe last Aug and we had a great time. We stayed in the Herbie section and really enjoyed it. The food court got busy (especially late at night) but the lines generally moved along pretty quick. Joe had only ever stayed at the Poly but he enjoyed ASMo. One morning we took the bus to Epcot so that we could take the monorail over to MK. It was great because noone was going that way so we got to ride up front. And then we took the ferry from TTC to MK-something new for him and the boat was named the Admiral Joe Fowler so Joe was excited about that.

Kate-Sorry to hear you need surgery but am happy to hear that it will bring you relief. Prayers for Nick.

Tammi-my prayers are with you and your children too.

I've got lots of notes so I'll post longer after I get home.

Thinking about booking a Disney Cruise for next summer. This will be our first cruise ever. I've been trying to read and find out info, but I could use some help. I posted this on the Cruise Line forum also.

  • I think it would make sense to get Adjoining rooms in a lower category vs a Family Suite so we'd have 2 bathrooms. Which category would you suggest?
  • Any advantage of going in June vs July? The kids birthday is at the end of June. Would it be fun to go for their birthday?
  • Will there be Double Dip cruises again next summer? Where can I see itinerary plans?
  • I'm leaning towards the Eastern route. Pros/cons for a first time cruise?
Any other information would be greatly appreciated. I am so nervous about booking a cruise, but I think it would be great fun.

Can we go with you?
I want to go so bad, but money and this family are not the best of friends these days. If I could just win the lottery or if anyone has a link to a place I could buy a money producing tree that would be great.;)

Just found out there are NO 7 day Disney cruises next summer as the Magic is going to the Mediterranean. That sucks. So if I want to do a cruise next summer, it will be non-Disney. I really wanted their first cruise to be Disney. I don't want to take the kids out of school if I can help it. Should I look at a non-Disney cruise? What would you do?

Sorry, but keep checking with them, people cnx all the time.

Well, this Deluxe snob took the plunge and booked 2 rooms, preferred building, at All Star Movies for free dining! I'm actually really excited. I know the kids are going to flip when they see all those larger than life icons. I think we'll rent a car to have as well for going to and from the parks. Oh, and it saved us $1600, and we're getting 2 rooms vs one. John will love that!

So any tips or advice for ASMo? Guess I'm going to be doing some research.

I LOVE ASMo!!! My best advice it to look for me!!!! That's where we'll be. (Oh, and I made an 11:00 ADR for 1900 Park Fare today so let me know if you change to CM and we'll stalk you over there instead. ;) ) Since Toy Story is now a preferred room, I would definitely put that on your request. I think that section has the best themeing. So much so, I am contemplating adding preferred so that we can keep up our Toy Story tradition. The food court works out wonderfully for breakfast in my opinion. We usually hit is about 7:00-7:30 and have plenty of time to catch the bus for park opening.

The refillable mugs are so convenient here as you go through the main building to get to the rooms. I fill mine on every trip through the building. We have never had any issues with the busses from ASMo. Even when the line is longer heading back at night, they tend to double load buses so you get back fairly quickly. Plus, we meander out of the parks at closing so the line isn't usually too bad by the time we get there.

Enjoy my favorite resort! I think you'll like the double bathrooms and extra space as well.

I'm listening as well! I'm seriously considering trying to talk Chuck into an anniversary cruise for June 5th next year. It was always my intention of going on a cruise for my 25th. I'll have to put together lots of information to convince him. I know the Royal Caribbean being half price Disney will help!

Chuck, take this fabulous lady on a cruise next year!!!! You both would have a great time!!!

I am so sorry - I forgot to check back in - it went well

he was SO good - I told him they were going to listen to his heart and that he had to lay still and they would put stickers on him - he laid right down on the table and didn't move or talk until she told him he could! I guess he remembered what happened when he didn't lay still for the catscan!!

The test didn't seem erratic to me - but the nurse did say she saw some irregularities but she didn't know what they meant - so they will get back to me in about 48 hours - so I am guessing Friday - especially since my doctor only works on Tuesday and Friday!!

We went to McDonald's and got him a happy meal - that was his reward - which he knew ahead of time - and he would do anything for cars - the toys are REALLY nice!! Although he did say to the nurse - me good boy now me go see cars again!!! Good thing Steve and I want to see it and we plan on going to see it this weekend with them!!

Great job, Nick! Keep us posted on the results Kate. We'll be praying for you until then (and beyond!).

this is a drive by posting - I have to head to the festival!

I am scheduled for surgery on September 1 - I could have done it the week we got back from DC but decided it would be better to wait until the kids are in school - I will be on crutches and not able to drive for 2 weeks but he told me that I would be doing great at 4 weeks!! He also took an x-ray of both of my knees - and guess what...

both knees have the same problem and he thinks that odds are once my one knee is fixed - I will realize how much the other one bothers me as well - I have some arthritis starting in the knees so it is good that I am getting it taken care of now - and he said I will be shocked to find out how my knees should feel when I walk!!

and the x-ray tech is a Disney Fan too!! So of course, I directed her our way - I hope she stops in and says hi! Her name is Tammy!!!

Sept is so far away, what about your trip in Oct, will you still go?

I think that you could do it successfully. Just make sure to use a stretch stitch so that you have the give that the suit originally has. I've never made alterations to a suit other than shortening the straps, but I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work. It is sew together in the first place.

Deb

Thanks for the reassurance, Deb. I think I am going to give it a whirl. I will let you know how it goes. :thumbsup2

I'm looking into the RCL Alaskan cruise starting in Seattle. I loved Seattle when I was there in the 80's. It was so beautiful. It would be so cool to be able to go there with Chuck and visit the market place again. There are some cool on-shore excursions in Alaska. Chuck's dad was going to take Chuck on an Alaskan trip for his college graduation but Chuck chose to marry me instead. I told him to we could plan the wedding for later in the summer so that he could still go to Alaska with his dad but he didn't want to be away from me! I may just be able to talk him into this cruise!

My sister did this cruise and she loved it!!!! I could ask her to hook you up with someone from her old office (she was a TA for cruises a few yrs ago).

Does anyone know when the Disney Store starts selling Halloween costumes? I want a Jack Sparrow costume for DS7 (DS10 had this costume last year so he is set) for pirate night on our cruise, and I can't find one that I like. They don't have last year's model in the right size, and I didn't see it on e-bay.

Thanks!

Our store didn't start until mid Sept last year. It drove me up a wall because I wanted them for our trip at the end of Aug. I hope you find it sooner than later.

Has anyone here done weight watchers recently? I keep trying to get back on a diet and excercise plan, but I am failing miserably. Atkins worked for me in the past, but I just can't stick to it anymore. The constant rain has stopped me from getting outside to exercise so I feel like a giant blob. I am toying with the idea of weight watchers. I am not a big veggie eater so I'm wondering if I will be able to stick to it? Anyone have any advice?

Deb
.

I lost 40 lbs on WW and have kept it off with a few ups and downs the past month. I love it and if I could just get off my duff I would drop those that 10 lbs I want to say bye bye to.
I would say stop in a WW meeting and take a look at what they have to say. I think you can visit the first meeting with out registering. I think it is worth 30 minutes of your time.
Good luck.

I've had a rather stressful day. When I got to work I took a peek at the newspaper as I always do. On the front page was the news that the man (dealer) that I bought I my mobile home from had crashed his SUV into a pole less than a mile from his home and was killed instantly. He was only 48, and had two young children (his daughter is just 5). I believe I mentioned the other night that after my husband died I was forced to declare bankruptcy. Well, when I fell in love with my present home, I missed out on getting a mortgage to purchase it by just a few points. I was so terribly disappointed. Scott said he had some other homes that were less money that he could show me, but I wanted this one. This wonderful man financed the home for me himself (personally, not through his dealership). I paid him back in full in 4 years, but I will never forget how wonderful he was. Without him and his generosity and faith in me I would not have my home today. Just to show how well liked and respected he was, it took over an hour just to get into the funeral parlor tonight. The line stretched half a block! Please add a prayer for Scott's family to your ever growing list.

I am so sorry to hear this and I am sorry that I am so late to send PD and Prayers.

Hi everyone!

We have been so busy around here. I'm still reading along.

I went to the Dr. today and had a great visit! My blood pressure is good, my blood sugar is good, and my Dr. is pleased with the way I'm progressing. I start going every 2 weeks now and because of my problems they're going to start monitoring the growth via ultrasound. I think it will just be a quick peek to count movements, but it's exciting to know I'll be seeing her so often. He said they're doing this now instead of stress tests twice a week. I'm so excited because I was on full bedrest by this time in my last pregnancy.

As I said we've been really busy around here. Brian's birthday was yesterday and we spent the morning in downtown Baton Rouge. They've been revitalizing it and it's becoming more of a cultural and artsy area. Brian and Christopher went on the USS Kidd (a battleship) then we did some other "touristy" type things.

Sunday we went to a birthday party to see Cars. We all thought it was great! Christopher sat in front of us with the other kids and I thought we'd have problems with him getting up and coming to us (he usually gets antsy in movies) but he was glued to the screen. He was so disappointed that we didn't go back and see it again yesterday. I promised to take him back soon. We're also in the process of collecting all of the hotwheels type cars and the Happy Meal cars.

I feel like I'm living out of my car these days since we're on the go so much. Another month and I'll be able to take it easy until the baby comes. My wonderful MIL gave me a break today and took Christopher this afternoon.
