Morning y'all - no time to catch up on last night's fun - I need to go into work early.

Just thought I'd stop by to say... I got my results for my last two papers yesterday... the ones I thought I would fail.

Well the grade system is 1 for a fail and 6 for a you did great ,go to the top of the class...

well I got a 5 for one paper and a 6 for the other!!?!?!?!?!?!? That's a 6 overall for that class :) I tell you that DDA pixie dust does some POWERFUL things!

I'm so proud of myself I can't stop grinning... although I'm also sure they're going to call me and tell me they got the papers muddled up :rotfl:

So I passed both of my classes for this semester with flying colours - and I'm now on a break until October for the next two classes.

Have a good day everyone :)

:yay: :yay: Clare :yay: :yay:

Paula-

I am sorry the bad news continues at your house.
I hope you know that you can come here to vent and cry.
I will keep you in my prayers.

He may have some luck with the 2nd site I listed then. You can search by originating city if he knows where they came from. Also, if he has any idea what the name was originally, he may be able to find it in the sounds like. Good luck! It took Phil awhile to work out a system to check through various possibilities, but in the end we located the records of about 20-30 close and extended relatives.

Thanks again!

With all the sad news last night I forgot to post about Hunter's last game of the season. He plays Rec league so the games are more like scrimages, but to him it was a huge game. In the first inning he was playing second base. With one out he caugt a pop fly and tagged second base to make a double play. He was so proud of himself. Because of his great outfielding the couches picked him to be up first. He had a good hit and made it to second base. He scored the first run for his team. 2nd inning he had a nice play at short stop. They reversed the batting order so he was up last. Another nice hit and he drove in a run. Third inning. His best friend was at bat and he hit a line drive to Hunter at third base. He fielded it and tagged 3rd base to get the last out of the inning. He was up first again and made it to second, then scored another run. We don't really keep score, but I know that Hunter's team killed the other team. Hunter's team batted through their order all 3 innings and the other team got 3 outs before batting through their batting order. ;) :cool1: My parents were both there and Chris's Mom, boyfriend and aunt came too. He was so happy, a very nice ending to a short season. He was floating on :cloud9: Next year they will play against neighboring towns, although we may put him in lacrosse instead.

:cheer2: :cheer2: Way to go Hunter! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Edited for Kate... 2121 posts. Seems like the perfect place to stop for right now... :goodvibes

Paula -- I am so sorry that your are so sad right now. Come here and vent as much as you like. That is one reason we are here! Here's to having no more bad news!

Denise -- your friend is in my thoughts. Thank you for letting us know more about that amazing little boy. I know you are getting ready for your beach trip. I hope it is relaxing for your family. You all deserve it. I also support the move back to the Contemporary. Although it has never been "my style" those Tower rooms have got to be the most convenient for any resort on Disney property. Kristin and I loved our stay there.

This is a vent and you do not need to read this, I am just up to my armpits in …..BLAH!!!

Yesterday it’s Katie has passed and today it’s mil SIL (the one in MI who has cervical cancer) has been given two weeks to two years. *** is going on!!!!

I know God has a plan and we have no clue what it is, but honestly! This is a bit much for two days. I had decided this morning that I would put my tears aside for Katie and make the day the best we could because you should live everyday to the fullest and then we get another crappy phone call. That’s it!!!! I am not answering the phone again today or tomorrow!!! Maybe I should just have the stupid thing disconnected, ok that’s not reality but wow am I done with sad news.

So here some my feelings as of now

:confused3 :grouphug: :badpc: :furious:   :sad1: :scared1: :headache: :worried:

Thank you for reading this and letting me vent.

Paula, :grouphug: to you.

teresa joy yay Sawyer

:grouphug: Paula :grouphug:

Well, I have inhaled my lunch and now have to go and help one of my staff as her assistant is on vacation at the beach... :beach:

So remember the baby shower you all were helping me with a few weeks ago, well I gave my girlfriend the task of coming up with the wording for the invites and this is it:

Because one daughter was so much fun,
Dana and Kevin thought they’d have another one!

New baby girl K**** is on the way
So we thought we’d help prepare for the big day;

It’s a Pamper party to start the fun
Diapers are requested for the little one

Please bring a pack of diapers, any size from 1 – 4
Because the thing with diapers is that you’ll always need more.

Or if diapers as a gift just isn’t your thing
Something to pamper mom is what you could bring;

Come celebrate the arrival of baby number two
On this day we will have lots of fun, we hope to see you.

Isn't that awesome! She said she looked at some of the invitation websites and kind of pulled it all together and she didn;t think it was all that good. Then we were talking about favors and I starting looking around the web and found these:

DiaperPailBabyShowerFavor1.jpg

They are Diaper Pails and what makes it cool is that the favor from her 1st shower was a candle one as well to light when the baby was born. Now the question is do I do the metal one or pink ones, they are the same price?

I was planning on a great night on the thread, but I have to go now because we just got a very sad call. I don't know if you remmeber me talking about a friend of ours DD who was sent to WDW in late Apr from Make A Wish. She was only 10 yrs old and today she passed away after only a year of having cancer. I am so very sad right now. And ti think I was complaining that DH and I forgot about our anniversary, how flipping trivial is that crap. This little girl was fighting to then end and we didn't help the family any these past past few days and now she is gone. I know we couldn't have done anything about it, but I wish I would have done something like make them a meal or something.
I have a few calls to make and a few things to do for the family. I might be back a little later.

Here is a news story that was done about her if you'd like to read it.

10-Year-Old Girl Spends day as KC-10 Pilot
Air Force Print News | Jennifer Brugman | May 31, 2006
usaf1_20060531.jpg
Travis AFB, CA. - It was a foggy day in San Francisco when a 10-year-old girl flew a KC-10 Extender under the Golden Gate Bridge.

Katie Powell, daughter of Senior Master Sgt. Chris Powell of the 60th Operations Group, was named Pilot for a Day May 19 and given an inside look at the daily life of pilots at Travis.

Master Sgt. Kenneth Rossa, 60th OG C-17 loadmaster evaluator, started the program to provide opportunities to local children who are facing life-threatening diseases. Katie has Ewing’s Sarcoma, a rare bone cancer.

“We’re just trying to treat her very special today,” said Capt. Cate Fienhold, 6th Air Refueling Squadron executive officer. “She is a very strong girl.”

Katie started her day with an honorary pilot presentation. She received unit patches and a scarf. She then went on to her mission briefing and obtained her orders for the day along with a donated flight suit.

Her mission began at the air traffic control tower where she spoke to pilots and aircrews in flight.

Then she took command of the KC-10 simulator and flew out to San Francisco, where she buzzed the Golden Gate and executed a near-perfect landing on her first try.

From the simulator, she went on to KC-10 boom operator training, had lunch and then toured an actual KC-10.

At the end of the day, she met Col. Steven Arquiette, 60th Air Mobility Wing commander, who gave her a coin and the scarf from around his neck.

“One of the things she kept saying was that she was thankful,” Sergeant Powell said. “She understands how much work people have to do. Everyone we visited took time out of their day to show her around.”

Sergeant Powell works as a KC-10 boom operator; the tour gave Katie a chance to see what her dad does at his job.

“To be honest, it was just fortunate that I happen to work in the same type of area,” Sergeant Powell said. “I had nothing to do with it other than my daughter was the recipient.”

Katie was the first Pilot for a Day at Travis.

“One of the things we told her was that she was the test run,” Sergeant Powell said. “I asked her if there was anything she recommended to make the program better; she said she wouldn’t change a thing. It was perfect. She really had a great time.”

The day was not without its surprises for Sergeant Powell.

“When they asked her what job she wanted to do, she said boom (operator); that was a complete shock to good old dad,” he said.

Paula prayers for her family and yours at the loss of this prescious angel.

If y'all can stand any more posts from me tonight, I'd like to do an unofficial poll.

We're down to 2 names and I'm interested to know which you like better and how many girls you know with these names. I checked the popular baby name lists and they're #22 and #82 (out of 100).

Anyway, the two names are Caroline and Lauren. The middle name is Elizabeth. Our last name will go well with all of them. I don't want to post it here but if you can't choose without knowing, PM me :teeth: .

One name is DH and Christopher's favorite. The other is my favorite.

:wave2:

I haven't read on so I don't know what others have said... I think I like Lauren Elizabeth best.

I have a friend called Caroline and I love her to bits but I just like Lauren :goodvibes

Vicki-I hope Chuck finds relief and answers. I've had shoulders problems in the past and know just how painfull it can be and it is impossible to get away from the pain-for me laying down made it worse. I finally got relief when I got pregnant with Lizzie. I think the hormones worked to loosen things up for me.

Vicki - I hope Chuck is feeling better too. I had to chuckle when I read this though... should we donate Chuck to medical science to be the first male mother? :rotfl: :goodvibes

I've read that now you think you won't do this but just in case you redo the math....I have never been in May until this year and early May was GREAT!!! I would absolutely go then again with the Flower Fest and the weather was perfect and the crowds were really low.

I've also liked late Oct for the MNSSHP. And Early Dec can be great too but I worry about flight delays due to snow here and there is always so much to do at home that time of year.

I was there then too!!! I remember that rain. DH had brought Joe & Lizzie to swim while my friend, Emma & I went to DD. They didn't get to swim long and thankfully we had a rain cover for the stroller.

Thanks for this - I've not scrapped the idea entirely just yet - we don't have to decide until November so I'm going to look at the prices for May and October again later in the year :goodvibes
