The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 8

So thirty five years ago, I was just being prepped for surgery. At midnight I felt my water break with a pop and started getting ready to go to the hospital. I called and said that the Dr. mentioned I might need a C-section. So my sister helped get me ready and we waited for my Mom to come and get us. As we are going to the hospital, they are arguing about whether my sister could stay with me at the hospital. Well that was the first real time I got so mad that I just yelled "Just get me to the hospital dammit!"
My DH was in Guam and they would not let him come home. Besides getting everything in triplicate, you gotta get some things in blood. They had first promised he could but then changed their minds. So he didn't get to see his so for another two months. So here is my first born.

then three years on june 11, my DD was born with not as much hoopla. DH was home that time

and just to show how things come again, this is me in the same pose as my DD when I was about her same age. The neighbors beside my Inlaws took the one of Guenna and I was so amazed.

and that is how my month of June is with my 37th anniversary on June 7.

Thanks for sharing the photos. Your daughter looks just like you in those photos. Congratulations on 37 years of Marriage. That is a huge accomplishment. I hope to be so lucky someday. Have fun with the 2 birthdays and Anniversary, but remember to let that foot heal, take it easy.

Baloo, My kids get out of school on June 15th for the Summer. These last 2 weeks are just fluff stuff. Parties, field trips etc.

I've got you beat. I'm about 17 years behind. Becky kept complaining that I didn't have any baby pictures of her. I kept telling her that I have lots of pictures of her. I finally had to go through the boxes & boxes of pictures to collect all of her baby pictures so that she could see that even though they aren't in photo albums, I have lots of pictures of her as a baby. I want to get them in albums before she graduates next year. I also want to complete one scrapbook for each of them by then.

I need to get some new albums to move my photos into before they are all ruined. I am admittedly not a scrapbooker, My photo goal is to just get the photos into photo boxes by child and or trip then there are my computer photo files, much easier to organize and I can look at them without a big search. Isn't technology wonderful.

I'm feeling better this morning so I must be productive today. I didn't get nearly as much done this weekend as I had intended and since I'm working more this week I need to make my days work for me. I'll be checking in later hoping to hear how Marci's dh and Rees are doing. They are both in my thoughts this morning.

When we got married we put all our photos in albums. I went through them the other day and realized that we were married pre acid free pages so everything is yellowing. I need to get some new albums to move my photos into before they are all ruined. I am admittedly not a scrapbooker, My photo goal is to just get the photos into photo boxes by child and or trip then there are my computer photo files, much easier to organize and I can look at them without a big search. Isn't technology wonderful.

I also had to replace all my old photo albums with acid free ones. I did that about 10 years ago. My computer files are in worse shape than my regular pictures right now. I have too many computers. Some are on CD's. It is nuts! I have lots of organization to do. That's part of the reason that I haven't start scrapping yet. Too much organization to do before I can even start.

Hey y'all!

Having a touch of insominia so where better to spend it than catching up on the DDA! I only went back a few pages though! I'd be here for DAYS trying to read everything I missed! OY!


I've been fighting an sinus infection.blech.My face and teeth,ears hurt.Every so many years I get a REALLY horrible one that last for WEEKS in the summer. I haven't had one like this in about 6 years.I feel sluggish and tired but I do think it's getting a bit better this weekend.

I had some rough days with my Mother but she's been pretty good the past couple.God I pray it last awhile.I get so tired ...mentally and phsically tired...messing with her and her needs all the time.siiiigh.


Steffy...when you get the Readers Digest version of the last few weeks here PLEASE send it to me!!! I hope you're feeling better! The srapbooking stuff sounds so much fun.I just never have the time to put things together.I've made a couple books in the past but there's so much stuff out there and scrapping "lingo" I don't even understand!!

Well I think that's about it for me...3am...geez ...Clare should be around here sometimme soon!

Hi everyone--there is no way i can catch up fro mthis weekend--so i just wanted to post that i was home!

it was an INCREDIBLE weekend!!! It was very hard and there were many tears shed, but we also had alot of happy moments and we made a lot of good friends. Alyssa's family was so nice and we enjoyed spending the time with them, and we are planning on going back again for a longer visit..
Last night we ended up watching a movie of Alyssa and looking through pictures..We got to see her room, which was pretty emotional, but it was so cool.
Today, we went to the actual Kride event..This was amazing!! there was a 100, 50, 25, and 10 mile ride, so before each one went, they dedicated it to alyssa and alyssa's mom/sister got to cut the ribbon. My brother did a great job and ended up finishing 2nd of the 10mile riders--he is aiming to do 25 miles next year! The weather ended up being good--a bit rainy on and off, but nothing too horrible. We got to hang out with her family and friends and they just accepted us as family...

Thanks for sharing the pictures, Jen. It looks like the ride was very successful. I am glad that you got a chance to spend time with Alyssa's friends and family. I am sure that it was healing for all of you.

I am about 5 years behind. I don't know if I will ever get caught up!

A quote ever morning in my inbox from flylady "You are not behind! I don't want you to try to catch up; I just want you to jump in where we are. O.K.?"

That is how I am also approaching my scrapbooking. If I looked at all I have to do.... my kids baby pictures are 38 years old. I would just give up. But I am starting with Baby Kyle, my newest grandchild, (that will also give me a chance to scrap his cousins,) then my last trip to Disney.

Since I started flying, my whole life is better. I don't catch up. I just jump in. It's so much better for me this way. I don't feel as if I am always behind.

Another busy baseball week! My DS Jake, was supposed to be finished with baseball last Thursday, but his team is in a three way tie for first. They will play a tournament tomorrow night.

My DS Andrew has his last official game tonight. The outcome of a game played by two other good teams tomorrow night determines what place they get. It is very possible that his team will be in a two way tie for second. If that is the case, they will play on Thursday.

Any PD or good wishes would be very appreciated for well played games for my boys.

Andrew has also decided to play indoor soccer. That starts tonight, although he'll have to miss that game. Only one or two games a week and in the air-conditioning!

I ran in to something in the middle of the night going to the bathroom and have bruised or broken my toe. I look pretty funny with only one shoe on!

I'll send an update about my DH and his arm later today.

I have employees flying in from around the country for two days of twice yearly staff days. I enjoy seeing them but it's a tough two days of meetings/strategy. I have planned a party for tomorrow night for a former employee who is getting married but now I can't attend since Jake has his tournament. Good thing this person has children and is understanding. I'll have one of my assistant's play the host role.
