Okay, is it just me or is anyone else excited about Gameshow Marathon on CBS tonight?!? I love game shows, but especially the older ones. I can't wait for Let's Make a Deal and Press Your Luck. Those were always two of my favorites. Oh yeah, and Match Game. The celebrity choices aren't too bad either.

I just wish that I had Game Show Network again! That is the one channel I really miss in our cable lineup.

GSN is one of our favorites around here! I hadn't heard about the marathon... I'll have to check it out. Although Kyle will probably kill me if I put off watchign a movie again....

I keep telling him I will, and then studying etc longer than I planned. I'm done now, so I really have no excuse.... until this one anyway ;)

Okay so my dentist thinks that the tooth ache I am aving is from my wisdom teeth that have never came in. so I am proablly going to have at least one of them removed in the next few days.

Has anyone ever subscribed to Tour Guide Mike?? I was thinking about it for our family gathering Jan 07.

Lynn

Lynn -- I love TGM... not everyone does, but I swear by his tips. I have subscribed for as long as he has been in business... 4 years??? He saved two of our Christmas trips by updating his website at the last minute and I will be forever grateful for that!

OMG!! You are not going to believe this! Here's a story of how small our world is!!!!

After TeresaJoy posted about seeing Kate, I sent her a pm when I saw that she was from Michigan. I told her I was from the U.P. and asked where she was from. She sent a nice note back saying where she lived, that her husband had attended Michigan Tech in the UP and where did I live in the UP. I sent another one saying that Chuck & I had met at Michigan Tech and the years that we were there. She sent another note saying that her husband was there at the same time. What a small world, she says! She went on to say that he used to hang out with Bob & Liz x, Dave y, Chuck & Vicki z. Imagine my surprise when I opened the pm and saw my name in the middle of her post. I couldn't read it fast enough.

This is our long lost buddy & his wife. We attended their wedding. I just asked Bob a couple of months ago if he had their address because I wanted to start sending Christmas cards again and their last one came back. He didn't have it. I just got off the phone with him and he is excited that I've found them too.

Bob & Liz were our neighbors in married student housing when we first got married. Dave, Bob & her DH were best buddies. Chuck was a grad student and worked a lot of evenings & Liz was a nurse that worked nights. I can't tell you how much time we all spent together over those first two years of my marriage. We hung out all the time. After we moved to Holland MI, they all met there to hang out one year. We got together for their wedding and Dave's wedding. These were very close friends. I'm so excited to have made contact with them again. I can't believe I did it through the DDA.

Can you tell I'm like this right now????!!!!!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

That is amazing. It looks like you both have Disney in common too. I see an old friendship being renewed.

Hi everyone. I hope you all had a relaxing holiday.

I've been reading along but haven't felt like posting. I don't feel well, but I can't really pinpoint what is wrong. Probably a combination of the heat and fatigue. I also have a headache that won't go away.

Lots of exciting things have been happening to DDA's the past few days. My thoughts are with all of you and the DDA kiddos.

We spent the holiday cleaning and organizing. We mananged to get a lot done but unfortunately there's still more. I'm just so slow these days.

Christopher asked the question over the weekend. "How do babies get in the tummy?" I was unprepared to answer so I distracted him with candy  . I feel like I should answer him as honestly as I can but without giving it all away. He's only 5. I've seen a few "scripts" for this, but they are a little more graphic than I'd like to be. Anyone had to answer this question at such a young age? It's not that I don't want him to have the information, I just see this being an exciting new topic for him on the playground and I'm sure other parents wouldn't appreciate the free education, KWIM?

Hunter was 5 and Nick was 7 when I was pregnant with Colby. They asked the same question and I answered it completely. They were not at all phased by it and probably don't remember the conversation now. I am a strong advocate of giving straight answers when asked.... I actually just called them both in the room and asked them if they remembered the conversation. Hunter did remember any of it and Nick turned red and said the didn't remember. I think Nick's information came from friends at school as he had a basic idea, but didn't have the places right :rotfl: :rotfl: He says that talking about it is totally embarassing. Hunter on the other hand listened to the facts and left it at that. I'll probably get a call from school tomorrow as They will be educating all their friends :rotfl2: At least they might get the correct information this time.

I've also heard of people redirecting the question back to their kids "We honey how do you think the baby got in my belly?"

Whatever you choose, good luck. I think it is easier earlier, as it is just biology.

This is Teresa's first design. When I saw it the first time, I remember thinking that I should know the couple (then put it down to me being fanciful - I mean come on what are the chances of it being anyone I would know?? :rotfl: ). Chuck remembers me showing it to him because it interested me. Mind you, I don't show him lots of designs because I'd be constantly showing him designs and wouldn't be able to be DISing.

Teresa also has a link in her signature to a family webpage she put together. It is so great seeing pictures of them especially Brian and reading about their family.

Denise -- the job sounds just about perfect for you. I hope it is yours!

Kate -- I pick door #3. Let's hope the doctor does too.

I have a question. How loose do you wait for a tooth to get before you pull it? We are approaching a personal milestone here.

Will be thinking good thoughts you get the four days. Always good to have a long weekend.

Go Nicholas!!!!!!!!!!

I hope it comes out soon -

oh - we knew it was loose when we were at WDW - why didn't we think to get Disney Dollars?!?!?

Denise - here's :grouphug: and pixiedust: for you and Rees.

Kate - prayers for #3.

Vicki - how cool!

Lynn - I also subscribe to Tour Guide Mike. One more way to feed the addiction.

Theresa - welcome.

Elin - is "recital brain" like "pregnancy brain?"

Dawn - at this age I would go with the old - when a mommy and daddy love each other very much God puts a baby in the mommy's belly as a sign of how much they love each other -

if they ask how - you can just say it happens when the Mommy and Daddy spend special time together

I have also heard the old straight answer - "The daddy has a sperm and it goes into the mommy who has the egg and they grow together to make a baby"
sometimes works - it would scare me that Julia would ask how the sperm gets to the egg :lmao:

I didn't know about the marathon, and I already promised dh that we could make some progress on Alias tonight. Our cable dropped GSN, too, and I really miss it. I especially liked it when they used to do the black and white Sundays (about 7 years ago when I was nursing Miles half the night).
