Mardi Gras!! Boy you really plan ahead.

No, not really. It is for a camping trip. It is a themed weekend and the trip is June 10th. That really doesn't leave me much time at all.

Nope, she didn't go anywhere. At least not that I know of. I think she just meant that she wasn't around on the thread.

::yes::

(I should have kept reading :) )

Didn't Steve have a procedure yesterday? I know they had several issues going on. I hope that everyone is ok. Kate usually drops in at least to say hello. Lets all send some :wizard: :wizard: and :grouphug: :grouphug: her way, hopefully she'll drop by today.

With those awesome costumes that she creates, she would have to!! She must spend hours on each one!!! I always enjoy seeing the pictures of them.
No kidding. I've never seen anyone as crafty as she is.

I got a pm from her last night, so she is reading along. She is probably preoccupied with family stuff. Let's give her a "come out come out wherever you are!"

I guess it is time to get the recycling to the recycle center. I got home from Lansing on Wednesday and amazingly the pile had shrunk. Chuck must have sent some with the garbage man on Tuesday! He is a civil engineer with an environmental option. You would think it would be more important to him to recycle. We don't have an easy recycle program here. The last place we lived had a nice container that you set out with the garbage and they sorted it at the facility. I really miss that!!!! We have to sort it ourselves and make a special trip to the recycle center. As you can imagine, most people don't recycle here!!!!

MORNING DDA!
I'm off to clean up the back porch, it needs vaccummed and cusions need put out on the furniture..maybe I can get Bob to grill tonight...hummm...
I hope everyone has a wonderful holiday weekend!!!

Ah - you guys are so sweet!!

I have been reading along but not posting - I just feel so overwhelmed and want to send PD and congrats and all that good stuff but I am so afraid I am going to miss someone that I keep putting it off

I think at this point a collective :wizard: - :grouphug: - :Pinkbounc
would be best!!

Things went well for Steve yesterday and now he is just recovering - I guess he will get to return the favor later this summer if I have surgery! He does not have a huge recovery process just needs to take it easy for a few days.
So we headed to blockbuster and rented 9 movies for the weekend - 5 for the kids and 4 for us!

I am also trying to keep on top of things at church - remember the lady who can't seem to let go of her old festival job - I know she means well and she has been helpful but she scares me that I am missing something!

And I found out that the VBS woman was told what to do by the Director who apparantly didn't bother to find out how things worked when she took over - what she should be doing - and now the director is out of town -

the other woman has not responded to my emails so I imagine she is pretty ticked off right now - so I sent an email to the Director explaining how things work and let her know that if she wants to change things next year that is fine but this year it is too late in the process and that I have been gathering the registrations like I always do and assigning the volunteers - I can't wait for the director to get back to decide how to do things and since everyone else is doing this the way we used to - and we have our volunteer meeting on Tuesday night!

That's exactly what I was thinking... exactly the same time and exactly the same words... once is a coincidence... twice is just freaky!!

 Ok I'm reading this and :rotfl2: then I get to the punch line and :confused3 What's an HMO???? :confused3 :sad2:

Clare-

I bet someone has already answered but here we go.

HMO's are an awful lot like your medical system in England. Lots of run around and waiting.

We have one near the university I went to... it's about 45 minutes from here. I never made it to see movies there, but it always shows 2 first-run movies plus some cartoon short (from.... who knows where, never anything I've heard of!)

Unfortunately, it's getting sold :guilty: My guess is the person that buys it won't be keeping it a drive-in. We used to have several, but they're all disappearing. I'm guessing it can't be too profitable! Ours is only $7.00 for 2 new release films!!!!!! That's a matinee price for 1 at a theater!

The land under ours was sold 2 years ago and was supposed to be changed into high rent apartments, so the last two seasons were supposed to be the last!! :confused3 We've got at least another season with it and we haven't heard anything about it going away....probably realized their mistake with the 6 block lines.

For those who have seen Mission Impossible 3 was it okay for 10 year olds to see? That's the second movie on the triple bill.

I've got a hunch on which prodecure that Steve might have had done, but I could be off base. Chris had a procedure that required a low key weekend to recover from and now there are no kids in our future :lmao:
I'm glad you are following along. We miss you. I hope that the volunteer thing works out. It is so hard to work together when the left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing.
