Hey! We have these in our Disney store .... do you have one nearby, you could call and see if they do? I can't remember all the details right off hand, but I know there was Mickey and Stitch, and they both had "Class of 2006" on the cap. Let me know if you can't find them, and I can pick some up for you!

ETA: Just reread your post, and realize you are looking for next year. Well, I guess if nothing else you can keep an eye on Disney Stores then if you remember! Sorry I'm not more help :confused3

Thanks jen-

Ok, hair question! :teeth:

I am thinking about coloring my hair. Nothing drastic, but I have something in mind a bit different than my natural color.

I've had it 'colored' several times in the past, with highlights and lowlights, but this is too freaking expensive to keep up when the only reason I do it is to change the overall look anyway (I think). But as far as all-over color, I'm clueless!

My question is this -- I was going to do it when I go for a haircut right before the cruise (the day we leave). Then someone told me I might want to wait until after, because the sunlight, chlorine, saltwater, etc can't be good for color-treated hair... so I should wait and give it the best chance for "survival" for my money :rotfl:

Any thoughts? Should I wait? I'd rather have it done for pictures, etc but I also don't want to mess it up.

I always do it right before my cruises because i like it for the pictures..never had any problems

Hi, all.

We just got home. Rees did very well today, and I was so proud of him. He had the ultrasound at 9am this morning, but didn't get taken for the Endoscopy until 2pm. It was a really long day for him. As far as weight, Rees has lost another pound in one weeks time.

After the Endoscopy, the surgeon said the esophageal Diverticula was very small and the Fundo actually looked fine. However, on the Abdominal Ultrasound, they found that Rees' gallbladder is completely full of bile "sludge". The surgeon said it indicated an Acute Gallbladder, meaning the symptoms appear suddenly. A gallbladder attack mimics all the symptoms Rees has been having. So, on June 5 (unless something else changes) Rees will have surgery to remove his gallbladder and clean out all the bile ducts. The surgeon will try to do it laparoscopically if he can. Rees will spend one night at Egleston Hospital and have a week recovery at home. John and I are so hopeful that this may be the solution to Rees' pain.

Thank you all so much for the emails, calls, and prayers. We will keep you updated as we find out anything else.

Denise, thanks for the update..im glad today went okay and i hope this surgery is the answer to all the problems!

I guess it depends on the color you are getting. If you are going dark, I say wait because it is going to lighten very fast. If you are going light, it prob won't matter, except maybe get even a little lighter.

Yes pool water is really bad for your hair.
Colored, permed, not very good for normal hair for that matter.
I would wait maybe a week after.
If you want to lighten it.
You can do that just by rinsing your hair in lemon juice & being in the sun.
My DD does this all the time.
Flat beer is a great conditioner also.
Good luck.

Denise, this sounds like great news. I remember how painful gall bladder attacks were. I had mine out 24 years ago, and I'm doing fine without it, and no more pain. I hope this solves Rees's problem with pain. No little one should have to live with pain. :grouphug: :grouphug:

Wow -- they are so cute! Thank you so much for posting the pictures.

Paula - Your pics are beautiful! You'll have to post a list of the medals :teeth:

On a side note..is anyone else getting PM bombardment about your animated signature? I have to stop posting on other threads...

I got my postcard today - thanks May 18thers. It was a bit of Disney fix. I'm busy right now making sloppy joes and macaroni salad to take on our camping trip. Almost done, but I'm not finished packing my personal stuff yet - but I have to do a little dising in between chores.

Can I get some advice please?

My parent's 40th wedding anniversary is Dec. 17 and I would like to do something for them. What I am thinking is a vow renewal at their church with about 25 guests (people that would definitely show up), then a reception afterwards. My parents didn't have a big wedding, so I thought this would be nice. I would invite more than 25 people, but the rest would be out-of-towners and I don't know how many would actually travel for something like this. Plus, it would be in the winter and the weather would play a big role (snow). Here are my questions:

1. Their anniv. is Dec. 17. Would it be okay to have this on Nov. 25 instead of around their actual anniv. This would work better for me, as that is Thanksgiving weekend and we will already be home, instead of going up there for the 17th and then back again at Christmas time.

2. I would like it to be a surprise (if the secret could be kept), or is this something that I should tell them and let them help plan? I'm afraid if I do tell, they would say that I don't have to do it or wouldn't want it.

3. Would it be better to just make dinner reservations at a restaurant with a banquet room or rent a room where I can have something catered and have a dj w/ dancing and such?

4. Or should I scrap the vow renewal and just have a party/reception?

Feel free to make any suggestions. I really need some input.

I just went through this. When I started planning we were going to have a big reception/party with lots of food and a dj. My parents kept telling us they didn't want anything (we hadn't mentioned the party, but knowing that their 40th was coming up, they would bring it up and tell us if we did something they would be soooo mad). We had suprised them for their 20th and 25th Anniversaries with parties at my Grandmother's house. They kept saying that they didn't want to bother people and my Dad's family wouldn't come so Mom would feel strange about just having her family there etc. etc etc. You all know how that ended. So take my advice with a grain of salt. I think the renewal is nice, but I know that my parents would never want a renewal so I would go with a Reception. You could even have a justice of the Peace do something at the Reception if you'd like. The restaurant is nice, but you are very limited on number of people, decorating and most restaurants want you out the door pretty quickly. A hall where you have no limitations on time, decorations and can plan your own menu would get my vote. Make sure you plan way ahead as you are looking at the holiday season and halls book up early for holiday parties. 40th Anniversary party supplies are scarce. I tried around here last minute and had no luck. I ended up making things to put on the cake. You may be able to get ruby colored garland or beading in the Christmas Decoration aisles as decorations may be out by then. A hall may also be decorated for Christmas. If they use white lights then you may be able to incorporate their decorating into your scheme although Nov 25 they may not be decorated yet. I would go with a surprise and since you are having it 3 weeks in advance you'd have a much better chance of pulling a surprise off. I really wish that I had been able to surprise my parents, but we had a nice party anyway. Good luck.

So, we now officially own two houses! At least we don't have to pay a June payment on the new one, so that's a relief. And while we were eating dinner, a woman pulled in our driveway and took one of our house information sheets out of tube attached to the for sale sign.

Denise, thank you for taking the time to post an update on Rees. I hope you are starting to feel better, and you all are in our prayers!

Tammi, I have no experience with planning anniversary parties. I do agree with the sentiment of it not being a surprise though, so that they know you are taking care of things. I'm sorry Shane's vet estimate is so expensive. It sounds like a procedure that has to be done, but I know what a hit to the pocketbook it is!

Paula, love your pictures! Glad you had fun!

Anne Marie, your girls are beautiful!

Jennifer, I hope the studying is going well. I would suggest getting a trim or something to "spruce" up your hair (not that it needs it!) before your trip, but don't play with the color until after.

Kate, I hope you're taking an antibiotic for your sinus infection...I know how you are about taking medicine!

Dawn, how did things go today?

Marti, you better post some pictures tonight!

Paul, I hope the new job is going well!

Kristine, thanks for all your advice and input from a realtor's standpoint!

June, congratulations on your "new, improved version" of your WDW trip!

Deb, congratulations on all the progress you're making around the house today. Loved the pics you posted.

I sincerely hope I'm not excluding anyone! :wave2: :wave2: :wave2:

And here's a :grouphug: for all my DDA friends!

Amy :)

P.S. Don't forget I'm going out of town tomorrow! I might be able to sneak on my mom's computer to keep up with the thread, but I won't have email access.

Hey, nice recap ;)

The studying is just going. I keep getting the things marke off my list, but I don't feel much better about it! :confused3 Oh well! I have a few more days...

Safe travels tomorrow! :goodvibes

We got a postcard today too. Chris was so surprised, then he was jealous that you all went and we didn't :lmao: :lmao: It was so nice of you to send those out to us. Maybe I'll get a copy of the contact list before our next trip :rolleyes1 I'm there for 3 weeks so you might even get a postcard before I get home. :teeth:

Denise, I am glad to hear that it may be something less severe than originally thought. I'm so sorry Rees has to go through so much, but I hope that this surgery will take care of the pain, and eliminate the need for anything more drastic at this time. I have been trying to keep up with reading the thread, even though I haven't been posting lately, so I was thinking of you and Rees today, hoping that everything would go well.

That sounds like a good thing. I'm so glad they found something and the fact that they might be able to take care of it laparoscopically is wonderful. Much less pain and a quicker recovery. If they remove it that is one less thing that he will have future problems with. :grouphug: For Rees.
