The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 8

I am lucky to say that I designed our house. It is a very practical house that has 4 bedrooms and a greatroom which we spend most of our time in. We built 5 1/2 years ago. Chris has his own workshop/garage which he would like to add on to, but we have enough land that we can do that. The town that we live in has no zoning so we can build whatever we want whenever we want with no permits required. Can't beat that.

I also designed my house and we built it about 10 years ago. It is the second house I designed. The 1st one was going to be built when we were living in Holland Michigan. The month before we were to break ground, Chuck got the U.P. job offer and we moved back here. Our lifestyle changed when we moved back (which is why we wanted to move back) so the house design changed. We plan on staying here forever as well. It is a 3-bedroom with decent size bedrooms and a full basement. We have a large 2+ car garage and a small horse barn. We only have 5 acres (we would have preferred 40) but it is plenty for what we want to do. We were able to keep our horse here (until she passed away at the age of 24). It is large enough for company but small enough to make upkeep easy when it is just Chuck & I.

We have no plans for this weekend beings I have to work But the good side is that I will be getting next weekend off, which does not happen often(unless I request it). So hopefully we can have a weekend get away somewhere. Rileys school is having a field day today where they are doing outside activities. So unless it rains I will be at the school this afternoon. Is it just me or does anyone else think he looked like he had some work done to his face? Maybe it was just the new hairstyle that made him look different.

I think it was the hairstyle. It made him look very different. Personally, I liked the old Clay look much better!!!! But then, I've been known to fall for geeks before!

My DD's boyfriend will be going with us on the Congrats trip and is getting really nervous about all the t-shirts I'm making. Everytime he comes over the pile is bigger. He told my DD that one of his friends said he was going to be one of "Those" people that wears matching shirts and walks around smiling and holding hands at WDW. I'm working on a design to tease him with, it's says "Yes, I'm one of those people", my oldest DD wants me to put Zip a Dee Do Da on the back, and we thought we would tell him that it's our family tradition to hold hands and skip down Main Street singing Zip A Dee Do Da, but not until we are there so he can't back out.

I love this!!!! I want to hear all about it when you get back. Please post pictures of you all wearing your shirts after the trip. They sound really cool!! We love seeing pictures of people enjoying Disney.

They won in extra innings 7 to 5. A great finish to a season. The first time up to bat he hit the ball hard, into outfield, landed in grass, no one caught it!!! Just as I had requested in my prayer!!! It was a very good game.

He looked awful in that 'do but he sounds awesome. Maybe it was combo of 'do and surgery but he also didn't look like he felt good.

Coming right along, although the antibiotics are causing another female
problem, time for yogurt again. The invites have been sent and the menu is
planned, most of the decorations have been picked up, I still need
to order the cake and rent a helium tank. I've been so tied up at work lately,
I really couldn't afford to miss the time I did last week. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to staff a business here on the coast now, after the storm I sat in a daze wondering what we were going to do, my job was destroyed and my husbands was flooded under twelve feet of water. I thought we were in for a long haul as far as employment goes, but his job "dug out" and
because he is in management he went right back to work helping with the process. My company had four stores here, two of which were destroyed,
they placed any of us that wanted to work in the two stores that remained and both of those stores are still struggling to keep them staffed. I took over the HR position and it is a nightmare, in a store that only had 51 employees prior to the storm we have had over 300 turnovers.

Thanks so much for asking, I'm still trying get it straight as to who goes with what screenname, I feel like I've stumbled across a very tight knit group here that honestly care about each other and it is great. Not to mention that I love the designs.

Good morning DDA!
i woke up and thought it was friday,,what a disappointment!
I was supposed to clean and go to the library this morning before work, but i ended up just waking up..i guess i was more tired than i realized and slept for 11 hours! Todays plan is working 1-6 and then i may be going to a softball game that the firemen are playing in--they are hilarious! we call it going to the circus because they have too much fun and dont worry about the game!
Other than that, im not going to worry about any homework til the weekend since i dont have many plans! I may be going to atlantic city with the family saturday night, but havent decided yet..other than that, have a great day guys!

I have made some astounding discoveries this morning. First of all it is possible for the sun to shine in Vermont!! I think it's been 3 weeks since we've seen the sun for any length of time. We are still having temps in the 30's at night. They say we might get up near 90 degrees this weekend My discovery was one of my end tables in the living room. It is completely empty and awaiting dusting. My third thrilling discovery is that my dryer has a top. It is white and a flat surface. Who'd a thunk it. I know you are all jealous of my amazing discoveries aren't you Seriously, I am taking time to reorganize since I don't have 1000 things on my plate. I think I only have like 750 things going on right now. I'll check in later. We have another concert tonight that Nick, Hunter and Summer will all be in. This is the concert for the music classes.

WTG Deb!! Amazing isn't it that the dryer has a white flat surface! I have discovered the top of my desk. I called Theresa at work for a couple of minutes to tell her that if I don't get at least 2 hours of work done on my office, I can't call and talk to her tonight. I figure knowing I can call my twin if I get my work done will be a good motivator. I've already gotten 15 minutes done in here. I also got about 1/2 hour of work done in my living room, dining room, kitchen & laundry!!! I'm making some great progress today!

Nick had his 4th grade band concert tonight. This is their first year and I must say that they have come a long way since September. He are a couple of photos of him before the concert.

He played the snare, bass drum and tamborine tonight.

My family was so sweet and captured this picture one day. I really wanted a lap dog. Our last cockapoo would not sit still if she was on your lap. I guess I definitely got my lap dog in Mya.
Here is Mya's normal resting spot on the recliner. Do you think she is comfortable?

Sounds like I may be the only DDA'er not going anywhere this weekend. I doubt there will be too many pages for you all to catch up on after this weekend.

Guess what we found after we got the DVD of High School Musical? A Piano music book for the songs. The girls were thrilled!!

We are glad that you've joined our group. We are fun, but can be kind of overwhelming! At least you haven't been scared away. I think your T-shirt pile is great! Your daughter's boyfriend is just going to have to get with the program.

did you happen to see if they had any graduation plush mickey, minnie, or donald? And di the have the year on them? I graduate next year from college and i have friends that would love these, but of course, i wont be back until after graduationso i wanted to see if i could get themthis year and how much they were..

also, i was wondering if the graduation ears had the year on it..
