Our town did a townwide tax reappraisal on all properties. We just were assessed 3 or 4 years ago so I didn't think too much about it. Our appraisal went from $161700 to $251900 :scared1:

Monday morning, Chuck yelled at me to hurry and look out the back window. This doe & fawn were in our back yard.

The same day, we had an oriole in our bird feeder at the front window. We have hummingbirds every year but this is the first year that we had regular visits from an oriole.

Wow..........beautiful pictures. Thanks for sharing them with us.

Well, we're caught up on American Idol and Lost! :thumbsup2 I'm sure glad all these shows are wrapping up, so we can finally start packing around here. :teeth:

I'm also glad I stopped reading the thread since LYNN announced the AI winner! ;)

We close on our house tomorrow at 4:30 p.m. Gosh, I hope we sell the current house soon...I feel so bad that Kevin is going to have to maintain two pools and two yards until we do.

Goodnight everyone! Sending lots of :wizard: and :grouphug: to your households.

Amy :)

Yay for closing though, that's exciting!! :cheer2: Except maybe you really should start packing.... ;)

Is it just me or does anyone else think he looked like he had some work done to his face? Maybe it was just the new hairstyle that made him look different. :confused3

Yeah, sorry about that. I thought about that this morning as I am reading the post. I hope I didn't screw it up for anyone. We are a low-tech family around here.............I wouldn't even know how to work a TIVO. I forget that a lot of people have them these days.

I think it was the longer, darker hair and no glasses.

I forgot to mention something exciting (to me anyway). On Monday the managing partner sent out an email to the entire staff that they had decided to give us July 3rd as a holiday so we'd have a 4 day weekend. I had already put in for a vacation day for that day, so since I won't have to use a vacation day, I added a day to my free dining trip. :) :) :cheer2: I'm now leaving August 30 instead of 31. When I went to change my air, there was, of course, a $50 change fee. However, the fare had gone down by $30 each way, so I ended up with a credit of $20 instead of having to pay more! pixiedust: I was also able to get the exact time I wanted for dinner that night (7:30 p.m. at Whispering Canyon). I thought with that time we'd have enought time in the Magic Kingdom for a travel day, then we could see the electrical water pageant after dinner, watch wishes from just outside the Magic Kingdom and then get on the bus for the hotel before the crowds. I'm going to have to change my ticker, but that will have to wait until I come back from the camping trip. I'm in double digits :dancer: :dancer:

June -- that is fabulous news on the extra work holiday, and extra day added to your vacation!

More PD to you and Kevin that the house sells soon. Congrats on the closing on your new home! :wizard: :wizard:

How are you feeling, now? Better? How are plans for the party coming?

Coming right along, although the antibiotics are causing another female
problem, time for yogurt again. The invites have been sent and the menu is
planned, most of the decorations have been picked up, I still need
to order the cake and rent a helium tank. I've been so tied up at work lately,
I really couldn't afford to miss the time I did last week. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to staff a business here on the coast now, after the storm I sat in a daze wondering what we were going to do, my job was destroyed and my husbands was flooded under twelve feet of water. I thought we were in for a long haul as far as employment goes, but his job "dug out" and
because he is in management he went right back to work helping with the process. My company had four stores here, two of which were destroyed,
they placed any of us that wanted to work in the two stores that remained and both of those stores are still struggling to keep them staffed. I took over the HR position and it is a nightmare, in a store that only had 51 employees prior to the storm we have had over 300 turnovers.

Thanks so much for asking, I'm still trying get it straight as to who goes with what screenname, I feel like I've stumbled across a very tight knit group here that honestly care about each other and it is great. Not to mention that I love the designs.

My DD's boyfriend will be going with us on the Congrats trip and is getting really nervous about all the t-shirts I'm making. Everytime he comes over the pile is bigger. He told my DD that one of his friends said he was going to be one of "Those" people that wears matching shirts and walks around smiling and holding hands at WDW. I'm working on a design to tease him with, it's says "Yes, I'm one of those people", my oldest DD wants me to put Zip a Dee Do Da on the back, and we thought we would tell him that it's our family tradition to hold hands and skip down Main Street singing Zip A Dee Do Da, but not until we are there so he can't back out.

Hope everyone has a great day and I pray that little Rees does well with his tests.

Debbie -- glad to hear you are feeling better, except for that pesky problem. Honestly, I feel like that is almost as bad as the reason I start taking the antibiotics. Add some acidophilus to the mix, as well as the yogurt.

Sounds like your planning is going well. I laughed out loud thinking about what kind of look your DD's boyfriend would have on his face at the thought of holding hands and skipping down Main Street.

June's post that her firm decided to take off July 3rd brings up a debate I've been having with myself. I want to close our office that day, but was wondering how many other corporate businesses would be off that day. I know retail has to be open on the 3rd, but who else will be getting July 3rd as an extra holiday this year?

They won in extra innings 7 to 5. A great finish to a season. The first time up to bat he hit the ball hard, into outfield, landed in grass, no one caught it!!! Just as I had requested in my prayer!!! It was a very good game.

I work in an office. We are off on the 4th but not on Monday the 3rd. I say give it to them. The employees will definitely appreciate it.

Vicki-

Those Pic's are awesome!! So glad you have a new grandstuffy to spoil!! :lmao:

Sounds like I may be the only DDA'er not going anywhere this weekend. I doubt there will be too many pages for you all to catch up on after this weekend.

Guess what we found after we got the DVD of High School Musical? A Piano music book for the songs. The girls were thrilled!!
I also am not going anywhere this week-end. Becky & I have graduation parties to attend locally. Some of my long-time Girl Scouts are graduating!
