Have a "HOT" time!

Well, I think I'm off to bed. I have a feeling the thread will pick up as soon as I do, but I have to get some sleep to start over tomorrow with the reading and question-answering! Do we have a cross-eyed smiley? Amy, I'll put you on that one since you found the green nodding smiley for me one day, long ago! :rotfl:

Goodnight! :goodvibes

im headed to bed too..too many classes for one day!
My public speaking topic had to be changed so instead i am talking about what it is like to be a part of a "firemen family"..this is another touching subject for me as my dad is a firemen and his coworkers are like family to me,,i think it will be good to talk aobut that as its been my whole life! Feeling a LITTLE better about this class-but my speech is wednesday so ill let you know!

I was happy about american idol, although my hope was for chris and since he left i didnt really care who won!

have a goodnight all!

Hi all! I got all caught up. I've been really busy getting things ready for our camping trip this weekend (I'll be away Friday to late Monday - don't make me read 100 or more pages when I get back :) ). Welcome back to the May 18ers - it sounds like you all had a great time. I got back a little while ago from shopping, and guess what I bought? Yep - Crocs!! I wore them out of the store, and while I was grocery shopping, and I still have them on (with socks). I felt like I was running around town in my bedroom slippers. They are so light!! I'm going to take them on the camping trip and wear them as bedroom slippers, shower shoes, laze around the campsite shoes. Lots less to pack! I'll take them on our Virginia Beach trip in August, too, but I won't know until after that what the verdict will be about wearing them around Disney. If they feel as good after doing a lot of walking on the boardwalk at VA Beach, I'll take them to Disney with me and give them a go, but I won't leave my SAS shoes behind. They're wonderfully comfortable, too.

:grouphug: for Denise and Rees tomorrow.

Denise, Rees & the rest of the Figs, :grouphug: :wizard: pixiedust: :tink: My thoughts, prayers & lots of pixie dust will be with you tomorrow.

Nick had his 4th grade band concert tonight. This is their first year and I must say that they have come a long way since September. He are a couple of photos of him before the concert.

ETA: I just realized that Hunter is the kid walking into the building in the second photo.

Nick is gonna be a heartbreaker! Glad you had a good night.

My family was so sweet and captured this picture one day. I really wanted a lap dog. Our last cockapoo would not sit still if she was on your lap. I guess I definitely got my lap dog in Mya.

Here is Mya's normal resting spot on the recliner. Do you think she is comfortable?

How cute is she. And I love Tori too! and the deer and especially the oriole. Being the state bird of MD I do not think that I have ever seen one here!

I forgot to mention something exciting (to me anyway). On Monday the managing partner sent out an email to the entire staff that they had decided to give us July 3rd as a holiday so we'd have a 4 day weekend. I had already put in for a vacation day for that day, so since I won't have to use a vacation day, I added a day to my free dining trip. :) :) :cheer2: I'm now leaving August 30 instead of 31. When I went to change my air, there was, of course, a $50 change fee. However, the fare had gone down by $30 each way, so I ended up with a credit of $20 instead of having to pay more! pixiedust: I was also able to get the exact time I wanted for dinner that night (7:30 p.m. at Whispering Canyon). I thought with that time we'd have enought time in the Magic Kingdom for a travel day, then we could see the electrical water pageant after dinner, watch wishes from just outside the Magic Kingdom and then get on the bus for the hotel before the crowds. I'm going to have to change my ticker, but that will have to wait until I come back from the camping trip. I'm in double digits :dancer: :dancer:

That's awesome!! I'd be doing a happy dance too!!!! An extra day at Disney, reduced airfare, and more free meals. Wow!!!!

My boss is away for a few days. She's in Iowa with her son, who is on his high school's Odyssey of the Mind team. They came in second in the state, so they are out there for the world championships. This is his fourth year in a row at worlds. The kid is really, really smart! He missed FOUR questions on his SATs - not one category, the whole set of SATs!! Then he wondered if he should take them over to try to do better!!

I'm off to bed since I get to sleep in my own bed tonight. I hope everyone has pleasant dreams and a wonderful Thursday!!!!!

Aren't they great. I would have never thought to wear them in the shower when camping but a brilliant idea. I also heard that a lot of people wear them on the beach while in the ocean.

So happy for you.

I am off to bed too. Eric and Emma leave tomorrow morning around 5am so I will get up to see them off and go back to bed. Good nite all!

Our town did a townwide tax reappraisal on all properties. We just were assessed 3 or 4 years ago so I didn't think too much about it. Our appraisal went from $161700 to $251900 :scared1: I certainly hope that the tax rate doesn't go up as drastically. They have no idea how the rate will change based on most properties assesing higher. The good news is that we have a ton more equity in our home, but the drawback it that it could really hurt the old pocketbook. I think I'll make an informal appeal that way I can go in and find out what criteria they used. My brother's house went up too, but we now assess higher than him and he has more square footage and he finished his upstairs and added a bonus room :confused3 Chris was psyched that our house is worth a quarter of a million dollars. I liked us assessing lower as we have no plans to move EVER so I'd like to stay low. :teeth:

That is awesome. Are you kids going with you? I know you had difficulty going to see your son as you didn't have time.

Deb

I'm taking my younger (17) granddaughter. She's had a rough year, and this gives her something positive to look forward to. You have an awesome memory! My anniversary comes up June 25 and at that time I will get 3 new weeks of vacation time and 5 days sick/personal time. I had all the trouble getting the time to see my son because I had gone on a 10 day cruise and to Disney, using all my vacation time, and then I was out sick for 2 weeks in January, which used up all of my sick/personal time, plus days I didn't get paid for, so they were reluctant to give me any more time, even though I had worked a lot of overtime. They absolutely refused to give me comp time and insisted on paying me instead. I would rather have had the time! Oh, well, I got to go for a very short visit and it didn't kill me (although I was pretty tired after traveling 450 miles each way in 3-1/2 days!

Vicki-

Those Pic's are awesome!! So glad you have a new grandstuffy to spoil!! :lmao:

Sounds like I may be the only DDA'er not going anywhere this weekend. I doubt there will be too many pages for you all to catch up on after this weekend.

Guess what we found after we got the DVD of High School Musical? A Piano music book for the songs. The girls were thrilled!!
