Ok, who thought it was hysterical when the Clay Aiken lookalike guy was singing and then the real Clay came out and surprised him?!?!

I was cracking up :lmao: It was so funny and the look-a-like guy was freaking out all over the stage. They had to finally get him a stool to sit on so he would stay in one place and not fall down.

Yeah! Me too!! I do have to say that it was worth the staying up to see a teary-eyed David Hasselhof. What was that?!? :teeth: Also, just after the announcement the camera showed a man holding up a young boy, maybe just behind Kat's family(?). Does anyone know who the man was? He looked really familiar, but I can't think of who it was.

Good night everyone!

I think it has to do with this, based at University of Denver

http://www.du.edu/education/ces/rmts.html

We had something similar around here (a different "talent search"), in that you are offered to take the SAT/ACT early (at no charge, at least then) ... I don't think it counts for anything as far as college (the test scores), but it gives you exposure to the testing style and if you do well, you get more information from the sponsoring college about various programs they have for high school students.

I'm sure it depends on the area, but I did something similar in 8th grade. I did not end up having any interest in any of the programs offered, but I guess it was still a good experience to take the test :confused3

I would imagine you will get more info from the program at some point :confused3

ETA: Lots of congratulations to Cassidy!! :cheer2:

Thanks Jen!!

After I got off the Dis I googled and found out about it. I think she has been nominated for next year as I have seen nothing about it come home.

Very interesting!!

Ok, Pal Mickey needed a stand-in to try on his new clothes so Tori has joined our household as she is about the same size.

Here is Tori modeling some of Pal Mickey's clothes.

My family was so sweet and captured this picture one day. I really wanted a lap dog. Our last cockapoo would not sit still if she was on your lap. I guess I definitely got my lap dog in Mya.

Here is Mya's normal resting spot on the recliner. Do you think she is comfortable?

Yea my DD saw David Hasselhoff & she recognized him from the Spongebob movie...Don't know why he was there..don't know who they guy was with the kid. Was that Bert Backarack playing the piano? Ok well Katie has just gone up to bed & I am running on fumes so I am going to sleep now.

Hope I can catch up on this thread tomorrow. Good night all!

If you think that's odd, I have two parents that won't travel together. One will fly in the day before the other. Why? In case of a plane crash. Smart, but odd.

You know I never thought of that before, but it makes a lot of sense, especially if you have younger children.

Monday morning, Chuck yelled at me to hurry and look out the back window. This doe & fawn were in our back yard.
Newpics011.jpg

The same day, we had an oriole in our bird feeder at the front window. We have hummingbirds every year but this is the first year that we had regular visits from an oriole.

Great pictures, Deb. He's a real cutie. Thanks for posting them.

Vicki -- the second picture of Mya is absolutely precious!

I also like the pics of the deer :thumbsup2

American Idol is over, yet the thread is still slow. Does this mean everyone is watching the season finale of LOST? Chris always watches it, but I find it totally confusing.

Mya is a real sweetie! She is a very good dog.

I like the deer pic too. Chuck took the oriole & deer pics. He was using Becky's camera and didn't know how to get a closeup. I grabbed the camera and tried to get a closeup of at least the fawn but they had moved before I could snap the picture.

All right....I am going to stop reading for 20 minutes until the new Idol is announced here as I think I saw a peek of who won a couple messages down and I don't wanna ruin it for my girls!!

Just home from our teacher workday, so I'm done with school for this year. Still have no idea what I'm teaching or days for next fall, and I'm still waiting to hear if I got the new job at my home church. Rumor is at my current school I will be offered the music teacher job. I hope so.

Rees has to go at 8:15 in the am. Ultrasound at 9:30am, Endoscopy at 11:15am. I'm wiped out and barely holding it together at the moment. I've been crying on and off since yesterday. I am so stressed and just ready for this to be over. We're going to church tonight for the dinner, prayer shawl presentation so I may not be back on again until tomorrow night late. I will try to post here or call someone to let you know how Rees did.

Thanks for the prayers and support.

:grouphug: Prayers that all goes well.
