Hello, all! Well, the doctor concluded that I was having an allergic reaction to the Bactrim and told me to make sure that I wasn't prescribed sulfa drugs in the future. He called in a prescription for Cipro. The UTI symptoms are basically gone, my mouth is clearing up, and no more GI problems. Now I have a new problem that I'm hoping some of you medical types can reassure me about. While walking in Target today, I felt a little pop in my calf along with a stabbing pain. It literally took my breath away, and the friend that I was with thought that I had choked on my gum at first. I can't walk on it without pain, but it doesn't really hurt when I'm not walking. It doesn't give out or buckle, it just hurts. I am icing it now and keeping it elevated. At what point to I have to call the doctor? I am almost never sick or injured and all of a sudden three things in a row! Plus this isn't good for getting exercise!

Beth
Beth, this happened to me a week or so ago, only it was my foot. At first I couldn't put any pressure on it at all, then just couldn't walk without a limp. It sort of worked itself out after a few days and the pain diminished greatly after a few days. Here's hoping your leg will be better soon :wizard:

Happy Birthday Jonathon!

Kristine, how are you handling this? This will be me on Becky's 18th in July.

So all in all I thought today was a pretty good day in our house. I spent the morning catching up here, putting together the cub scout order and typing up Nick's Maple Sugaring outline. I also vacuumed through the house and got a ton of laundry done (tomorrow I might even get it put away). I felt so relieved tonight that I sat down with my family to watch Harry Potter 4. I thought the movie was good, but so much detail was missing from the book. Nick and I we constantly pointing out things that the movie missed.

So I spoke to my Mother around 9 PM. Apparently my SIL who lives next door to us and whose son I babysit was complaining yet again. She can't understand how I am home all day everyday and never get anything done :confused3 ***!! I get stuff done every day, she may not "see" what I've done, but truthfully it in none of her business. She also complained that we haven't mowed inside our picket fence and there is dog poop in there. Duh, Hello, it has been raining. I never asked he to walk through the backyard, we have a front door. She should use it and quit her b1tching. There are times we will be at one of the kids activities and come home to our lawn having been mowed. Mind you we did not ask and the lawn wasn't bothering us. Mom says that she mentioned the my parent's lawn needs to be mowed too. They mowed it less than a week ago. She is crossing a line and I will not be biting my tongue much longer. I don't want issues, but I won't be stepped on either. They have 2 kids and neither of them do any activities other than the oldest going to school. They have every evening and weekend to do things like mow the lawn. We are lucky to have one evening per week to be home. I feel bad for the kids as they really need to experience extra curricular activities. Ok, I'm stepping off my soap box now.

Hopefully Colby will sleep better tonight and Paula will hopefully get some sleep tonight too.

Deb

With all my complaining I forgot to mention that my finger is much better today. It is only slightly swollen now and not quite so black and blue. I can even type with it :teeth:

Deb

Here's hoping Deb, Paula and their children get more sleep tonight!! :wizard: :wizard:

My observant 8 year old noticed today that I got a perm. My SIL did too. Apparently the strong smell and abundance of curls weren't so noticable yesterday :rotfl:

Harry Potter 4 had a lot missing from it but imagine how much longer it would have been had they had included it all!! :scared:

I am sorry your SIL is being catty. Obviously the kids aren't the only ones who need extra cirricular activities.

So you should think to say something like this one day.

WOW! If I just didn’t have (insert activity) tonight, I might get the lawn mowed or my laundry put away. :guilty:

You know I am not sure why I put my kids in all these activities,:confused3 your kids seem like they enjoy not doing these things. And hey, why should I spend all the money? Will it really make a difference to them? :confused3 Will some activity today make or brake them tomorrow? Is learning and enjoying life at a young age that important? :confused3 I just don’t know.:guilty:

Now you need to say this to your SIL with a smile and look of concern at the same time. You need to be a “am I doing the right thing?” mom.

Maybe she will get a clue, if not... tell her... Bit Me!

I vote for Bite Me. She would think that I was complimenting her parenting if I tried the other approach. She really thinks that she is the best mom in the world. I assure you she's not. They won't even take their kids to WDW :scared1: As they have been before and can't see what the hype is about. Their daughter has been with us and always teases to go back with us. They prefer to take separate adult vacations, usually not with each other. I just don't get it.

Deb,
I can so relate. I remember when DH had some surgery done on his foot. So there he is limping around and he always had done the yard, riding mowers and I do not get along. We got a letter from the township that the grass and weeds are getting high.
I was so mad, the nosey neighbors are always around when something bad happens but for that no one showed up . Our kids were too young to do the mowing so they could not help. We finally got the yard done but made sure we let it go another three weeks!!! :lmao:

Now since we are all grandparents, thankfully everyone helps each other. Our one neighbor plows our driveway after any big snowfall.

Well after the week I have had with my family a seperate adult vacation sounds pretty good!! :lmao: In reality it would last about one day and then I'd want everybody with me.

I agree with the "Bite Me" or "Stick your nose somewhere else" or "Use the front door please, that's where VISITORS come in" or "So, So suck my toe". So many ways to say butt out so little time.

Why would I want to share these fabulous kid activities with my kids? Oh BECAUSE you nit these are what life is all about you nit! Not money or fame! You Nit! My children will know that I sacrificed for them; I gave them every enjoyment I could. I gave them the world at their young ages. I gave them more than “here is our house and clean you r room oh and have this lady take you on her vacation with her”. Pull your head out you nit! Life is for living! You can’t take money and fame with you when you die.

That is what else I might say to her.

WOW!!! I might have a few feelings about this… ya think?

I am beyond sick of the “you are just a SAHM” you have all the time in the world. Talk to the booty cuz the hands off duty! Get real you nits! I play, I do things with and for my kids, we make messes and some days it doesn’t get cleaned up. But I will tell you this my friend… I HAVE VERY HAPPY CHILDREN!!!! I am doing the best to give them more than I had and teach them to enjoy life because you don’t know what tomorrow will bring.

Off my high horse now. Sorry for the rant.:)

damn Amy - you figured me out!!!!!

Actually - the dance along version is not on it - there was only the dance moves to Bop to the Top -

and we deleted our dance along last week!! I hope someday they replay it on TV!!!

You know they'll release another "Collector's Edition" in about six months. This time it'll include that dance along version, so of course, it'll sell millions. You gotta love marketing! :teeth:

Well then, pick a date! I sent you my information, did you see it? And I don't really care who I go with on what ride, as long as I get to go!

I'm so sorry about Bethie! Jacob started throwing up last night, and it was like watching that scene from the Exorcist! Very scary. It only lasted a little while, and then he was fine, but I hate it when my kids are sick and I don't know why!
Yep, 3 out of my 4 started throwing up. I have now covered their beds in neet sheets(makes easier to clean up as opposed to bedding). And of all the timing my little Bissel shampooer broke. At least I got most of the carpet spots cleaned up first. Our vacuum cord also broke off our expensive heavy duty tristar vacuum. :confused3 I must be too hard on my cleaning appliances, though to look at our house you wouldn't think so. :rotfl2:
:wizard: I hope Jacob's all better and noone else gets it.
:wizard: I hope Bethie's fever goes away soon without anymore problems.
