I've been wanting to go see DaVinci Code at the movies, but don't know if I want to go on the first saturday it opens. Bob and I have tickets to an Indians game, 10 rows behind home plate, but still debating on going.

Well, I decided against the oreo cheesecakes as the filling would take longer than I have to set. So, instead I threw together a pan of white chocolate raspberry bars. They are so good, and I didn't even have to make the cookie dough as I had a tube in the fridge. Makes things so much faster. I'll try to remember to take pictures of the bars before I deliver them this afternoon. Still trying to get to the cookies. We'll see. My day seems to be going so fast and it's only 8:30 in the morning here.
can Allen take the kids to their things so you can bake?

What whats to debate unless its raining go go. Sorry I would love to be 10 rows behind homeplate at a pro baseball game.

Cheescake is one dessert I dont like. Not sure if it is the texture or the taste.

Glynis, your mini cheesecakes...are they something like this?
2 8oz cubes cream cheese
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1t. vanilla
Nilla Wafers
pie filling

Mix together cheese, sugar, eggs and vanilla
Place cupcake liners in pan, with a Nilla wafer in the bottom. Fill 1/2-3/4 full of cheese mixture, bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes and cool. Top with dollop of pie filling.

Don't know if these would be easier or quicker, but they cook fast and are easy to make.

Those sound good! The oreo ones require a bit more cooking time, and then cooling before you do the top.

I've got the first batch of cookies in the oven, now. Cross your fingers that they turn out!

It's an idea, but I don't think he'd go for it. He will take 2 but when asked to take all 4 he kind of goes pale and weak in the knees. He's positive he won't be able to handle them, and to tell the truth, I want him in a good mood for the dance. We don't do stuff like this much, so I want to be able to enjoy it. I think everything will work out. The 2 bar recipes are done and cooling, and the cookies are in the oven, so all should work out. The kids are busily cleaning their rooms because they can't go to the library unless their rooms are clean. Good motivation for kids who love the library!

Cheesecake is a huge weakness of mine! Maybe it's a good thing I'm not going to make them for tonight. I know I'd break down and have one (or 2). This way, that temptation is gone and I can be good!

I'm working on it. But I don't know if I'll be able to do it. I'll be out of the house most of today, but I'll work hard while I can. When are Kate and Tammy back?

You will have to come visit me then. The bar that I work at is part of a restaurant so it isn't really a bar bar per se, but I found a few tonight. The funny thing is I ended up bartending all night which I didn't think would happen and was the last to get off work so everyone else had already started drinking. We took my van because it hold 7 and headed to the first bar. I could tell I was too old for this partying stuff because the band sucked and was waaaaayyyyy to loud. We had a couple of drinks and a shot there then decided to go to another bar. One of my coworkers was drinking soda so she drove us to bar #2. We met another girl that bartends there and she got us all in with no cover charge  . By then I had lost my buzz from the previous bar and had decided not to drink as I would need to deal with my kids at some point in the morning. Did I mention that bar #2 has strippers? They took off everything except the panties. I was totally not impressed and neither was Chris. At one point he commented "is it a bad thing when I'm in a nudy bar watching the Red Sox game?" :lmao: :lmao: So after a couple of shots/drinks there we moved on to bar #3 which in my opinion was going to be another waste of time, but the birthday girl really wanted to go there as last call was an hour later. We got to bar #3 to find out that they had given last call 15 minutes earlier :confused3 We had even called twice, but they still wouldn't serve us so I drove everyone home. Chris was feeling pretty good so he needed some Turtle Time which was to be expected as we actually went out and had no kids tonight. So now he is sleeping and I am DISing, hoping to get tired soon. Oh What a Night.

Truthfully? I didn't get them all finished last night. I did get the cherry truffle bars done, and they look yummy! I'm up right now to get the rest done while my family sleeps in. I started making the moonbeam cookies, then realized that my lemon curd is rancid, so I'm off to the store to pick up a bottle or some lemon pie filling. Hopefully I'll have time for the cheesecakes. If not, I'll try something else instead.

I've also got a community clean up to do this morning, take the kids to the library, pick up my computer, and take the kids to the swimming pool before the dinner/dance. Hope I can get it all in. Wish me luck!

Wow!!! I got tired just reading that!!

Here's some :wizard: for you to fit it all in so that there are no fist fights over there being no desserts left. :stir:

DaVinci Code or baseball game (my favorite :teeth: ) ? Those awesome seats I would be at the game, DaVinci Code hasn't been getting very good reviews and will be around. Opportunities to see some baseball that close doesn't come that often. ( I love baseball uniforms because they frame the hieney the best :teeth: and yes DH knows of my fascination!!)

Well, it won't be my fault if they run out. I made 2 huge trays of bar cookies. They can be cut as small as the servers want to. Hopefully everyone else who signed up for desserts will come through as well.

Looks like we'll be heading out in about 20 miutes. Good thing the baking is all done. The cookies turned out really well. I mean the moonbeam cookies. I'll post the recipe when I get back this afternoon. Heidi mentioned wanting it. It was so easy! And the kids say they are yummy! I'm being really good and not cheating today so I can splurge a little at the dinner tonight. Maybe a bite of dinner roll and a bite of dessert. That's the plan!

Thanks for the recipe.

Good Morning Everyone :wave2:

I hope everyone is doing well. It's Friday and I am soooooo glad. I don't think after today I have the mental capacity to review another mortgage loan application. My DH works at Home Depot and he comes home physically exhausted. I sit at a desk all day looking at a computer and analyzing papers and I come home mentally exhausted. Either way after dinner we practically crash and burn. I will have some laundry to get caught up on over the weekend.

Not much relaxing but thanks for hoping it for me. I was just checking in on ya'll between childrens choir practice and football sign-ups. I will be back home later.

Lynn

How can I train Bob to know that the house needs cleaning even if there is baseball on tv?? It's not like we don't have tivo and he can pause/rewind and watch it later. I get so overwhelmed sometimes and all I get out of him is "So whats for dinner?" Get off your bum and cook it yourself!!!

Sorry...rant over.
