Some in between - I was born in 76 and DH in 78 - so there's 18 months and 5 days between us.

What about you and Kyle?

We have a few more in between us. 5 days short of 3.5 years!

Now his brother and I are much closer, exactly 11 months apart! Kyle always swore that when I met Troy I'd just fall in love with him instead, because "he's so much cooler" I do love him to death, but oh my goodness -- I could NEVER have chosen him over Kyle ... he's too wild! :rotfl:

Morning All,

Thanks for all the well wishes, my meds are starting to kick in so I have no excuse not to get some housework done around here today. The invites are
printed, adressed and stamped and will be taken to the post office later today.

We'll be making a trip over to SAMS to see what party foods we can get from there.

My husband and I were discussing Disney yesterday, trying to decide just what it is that "hooks" people, I think it's the fact that we can go there and
completely leave reality behind, it truly is like being in a different "World".

What do you think?

Here's a new design I've been playing with along those lines, the picture of the castle is Dan's from the photography board, he has some beautiful pictures.

Have a Great Day,
Debbie

I think that's a HUGE reason! Most of the time I site exceptional customer service, attention to detail, etc as my first answer.... but man when you think about it for very long, that's exactly what we come up with. It's the only vacation I've ever been on that you really can leave your problems at the door and escape reality for a bit! :thumbsup2

Cute design, too... I love the phrase! :goodvibes

Good evening! Today was one of those not so pleasant days. I am Asst.Manager at a convenience store & one of our customers passed away today while his fuel was pumpimg. A customer came in & said a guy was slumped over in is his truck. I told an employee to call 911 & I went out to check. Unfortunatley he was already gone. I do not know this person personally, but it really affected me seeing him. I feel so bad for the family as well. I pray that they get the strength needed to make it through this. I do not know for sure why he died, I will see what the paper says tomorrow. I was told that he was only in his 40's, very sad :(

Both boys lost their games tonight, but that's ok there are plenty more games to play. Riley pitched his 1st game tonight :cheer2: , I was very proud of him. Hope everyone is doing fine.

Have a Great Day,
Debbie

That's why I go. It is a total immersion into a fantasy world. Time stands still (no clocks) The outer world does not seep into WDW. (no newspapers at the parks) So safe. No matter what your age, you are a kid again! It is my happy place. When I go I just have fun. Fun. Good food. Atmosphere to the limit... Fun.

Since we are still on the topic of "disciplining" children...

Did anyone else's parents have a set of a HUGE wooden spoon and fork hanging in their orange and yellow 70's kitchen?

Yes! Though they weren't used for discipline, and there was more brown than orange with the yellow.

Hello everyone! I just wanted to thank you all so much for lending your ear and giving such wonderful encouragement as our family goes through these big changes. On Friday, we had an auction of my grandmother's things. She had 4 generations of "stuff", so needless to say, there were SO many things that had to go! Many of the things have such fond memories, it was hard to see them go. I had to just keep telling myself that they were only "things", and the special memories I have cannot be taken away and are mine forever. We did purchase a few pieces of furniture that we would like to refinish someday. She will be packing up Thursday and Friday this week, and then will be moving to Clearwater, FL. I just can't believe how fast this is all happening! We also received news of a WONDERFUL BLESSING! My parents are going to be building a new house, probably beginning in July. The house that they live in now is NOT deeded with the farm as we originally had thought, so they are able to do with it as they wish - and they offered the house to us. I still can't believe it! What a huge answer to prayer! We will just need to find some temporary housing until my parents get their house built - and worst case scenario, I'm sure that we could move in with them for a few months, if absolutely necessary. So, things are certainly looking up for us - thank you again for all of your support!!! Sending hugs to you all! :grouphug:

At least I'm sure to meet you! Some days that's the only thing that keeps me working toward the marathon; meeting my DDA family. I think Nancy has committed to come, too! Anyone else out there want to join us?

I was hoping to come but the airfare was absolutely ridiculous when I looked at it. I'm going to keep an eye on it and if it goes down to a reasonable rate, I may just take you up on that!

Hi everyone!

Did I miss anything while I was gone??

Well, it's official. I need to stop cursing. The Donald Duck in me uses a few choice words during moments of frustration (break out the hot sauce Glynis!) and tonight, when Alyssa couldn't fit the crayons back in the box, well, she used one of those words...about six times before I realized what she was saying. Actually, Kevin picked up on it first, and since he swears once every two years, you know who got the blame.

Please, can I still swear here? ;)

Amy :)

I ended up in the same situation with Becky when she was about 3. She rode with me 1/2 hour every morning to day care (& me to work). I had a tendency to say darn (but the stronger version) when someone would do something stupid like cut me off, not use their blinker, etc. Well, one day somebody did something and Becky was upset and used it. Of course, Chuck knew exactly where she learned it. Becky & I made a pact after that if one of us said a bad word that we would slap the others hand. I got a lot of hand slaps for several days.

No hot sauce, here! Just another mother who has been there, done that! It's quite a shocking thing to hear it come from your angel's mouth, huh?

The hard part is that they sound so darn cute when they do it. Plus, they know that you use it so you can hardly punish them for it.

The :sunny: has come out just in time for me to get ready for our camping week-end. Weather predictions are good so far for the week-end. I'll be checking in off & on today but will be leaving this afternoon and then won't be back until Sunday.

Thanks. Friday and Saturday morning was gorgeous. However, then it took a turn for the worse. It got cold and rained off & on all afternoon yesterday. However, we had a wonderful time anyway. Chuck's brother & SIL camped next to us. The week-end was planned so that Chuck could help his brother with their new camper. It was their first trip and his brother was uncomfortable setting it all up. His SIL was happy to have us there. She told us she would have taken the truck and went home if Chuck hadn't been there to keep the peace. Two of my staff stopped by for the fire last night. It really was nice.
