The whole in-laws thing is a really long story, but let's just say that between them (and really Kyle), the day started out pretty crappy. 20 minutes before we were supposed to leave for Oxford, I was in tears and nowhere near being ready. I REALLY considered not going, but thought that might have been a bit impulsive. We did almost skip the CF though, so Kate - you weren't too far off. Instead, we went, everyone was there (except my dad who couldn't make it), and I pretended not to be grumpy.
It wasn't so much that anyone did anything out of the ordinary, I just too often cave to pressure frmo certain pushy people. And it drives me nuts, and SOME days out of the year (my wedding, and maybe even graduation to name a couple) you shouldn't push me. It's just not nice![]()
I'll post pictures later. Overall, I'm glad I went. The whole "family interaction" part of it was wasted, so I'm still a bit disappointed by that... but the ceremony was nice, the weather was gorgeous, and the food wasn't too bad either
Side note though, that made the day oh-so-much better {sarcasm alert}
Denise -- I must have been either having sympathy lapses in judgment(love you
) or someone took my brain, too!
I was getting ready frantically, since we were already running late. I set my curling iron on this ledge in the bathroom, and it started to fall. Well, I reacted quickly but kept my head on straight enough to remember it was hot, so I ended up awkwardly trying to catch it, and banging my elbow on this corner nearby. It hurt like heck, but I assumed it was a funny bone type thing, that it would quickly subside.
11 hours later, it's diagnosed as what is probably a radial head fracture (elbow/arm), and now my right arm is in a sling!![]()
It wasn't bad enough to displace bones or anything (Type I - just a 'hairline' type fracture in the bone), so the sling should only be a few days and the pain a few days longer.... but how stupid an injury to try an explain!![]()

I think that since you've adopted all of us as family you can stop hanging out with those that are pushy and don't take your feelings into account
In all seriousness, we are always here for you and share in your big moments. We probably know better than your in laws how much work you've put into your education as we've been up with you on those studying nights living vicariously through you.babytrees said:Now that sounds pretty....I was thinking the ones you find at the Target dollar spot...the cheapo ones. I wore silver ballet slippers because I have never been good in heels and it was just shortly after my knee had given out on a flight of stairs.![]()

UP Disney said:I'm an aunt again!!!! Woohoo!!!!!!My brother & his wife had their baby yesterday. He called me at 12:54 am and scared me to death. I don't like getting calls in the middle of the night!!!!!!
I found myself holding my breath when I asked girl or boy. Normally, it doesn't matter to me as long as the child is healthy. However, this was different. My brother is 43 years old. He is a Jr. and he is the only grandson to carry on the family last name - Dad had 12 brothers & sisters - his brothers either had no children or girls - there are 30+ grandchildren total and he is the only one to carry on the last name. When my dad died, my brother talked at the funeral about how important it was to him to have a son to carry on the name for my grandfather & father. That was more than 8 years ago. Well ...... there is now a great grandson to carry on the family name. Mom & baby are doing great. Yeah! Thank you God!!!! I lay awake for an hour saying thanks because it was so important to my brother.

NBA Basketball is the one thing I am NOT into... but if I had a team, they would be it! I like Mark Cuban (sp?). He is so passionate about that team! I love hearing him talk about them on ESPN, etc![]()

My stomach hurts all the time and having quite the upset tummy. But somehow I'm still hungry and wanting to eat! Go figure. Anyway, I'll be back later.
