Photo of Ellen and Marti at the sewing machine. They enjoyed a Dole "Marti" Whip and Ellen came with two huge bags of Star Wars toys for Matthew, he has not stop playing with them since he came inside.

Ellen, thank you very much for helping Marti with the machine and for the great gifts for Matthew. Ellen is just a pleasant in person as she is on the boards.
Thanks for posting the picture, Paul. Looks like they were really busy at that machine!

Good evening everyone! I am back on page 1983 trying to catch up, looks like you have all been :hyper2: again.

The past few days have been busy with baseball games in between work. I got up at 3 this morning so I could get to work & get out of there early for the games. It was a beautiful day (1 game lost, 1 won)& I have the sunburnt feet to prove it :teeth:

Back to reading :)

Apparently she spoke to her husband and they are GIVING us points for Friday and Saturday night in a ONE BEDROOM!! So we will stay in Pop on Thursday and then OKW and Friday/Saturday/Sunday. I am still floored that somebody would do that for us -- it is ALOT of points to use, but she said we are worth it. And she said you can't put a price on friendship. I nearly cried!

I'm an aunt again!!!! Woohoo!!!!!! :cool1: My brother & his wife had their baby yesterday. He called me at 12:54 am and scared me to death. I don't like getting calls in the middle of the night!!!!!!

I found myself holding my breath when I asked girl or boy. Normally, it doesn't matter to me as long as the child is healthy. However, this was different. My brother is 43 years old. He is a Jr. and he is the only grandson to carry on the family last name - Dad had 12 brothers & sisters - his brothers either had no children or girls - there are 30+ grandchildren total and he is the only one to carry on the last name. When my dad died, my brother talked at the funeral about how important it was to him to have a son to carry on the name for my grandfather & father. That was more than 8 years ago. Well ...... there is now a great grandson to carry on the family name. Mom & baby are doing great. Yeah! Thank you God!!!! I lay awake for an hour saying thanks because it was so important to my brother.

Congratulations. I'm glad that everything worked out so wonderfully for your brother.

I had an awesome day today. I went to Richmond and met both my DDs for lunch which we ate on a patio in the sun... it was lovely. Then we shopped in a funky little area of Richmond and found lots of fun things to look at and buy. ;) Stopped for a drink at another outside cafe' and then headed to Kristin's dorm room to pack up a bunch of her stuff. I filled the car with her things and drove home.

Having one good load out of the way this weekend will make her final move out on Friday a lot easier. They have NO PARKING signs all around the dorms and they are allowing people to park there for only 30 minutes. There is a security guard there to keep you from staying. That will be a royal pain when I go back to bring her home for good!

I think I am all caught up and am headed to bed. I have two concerts tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep ;)

Kate, we got married at Manor House too!

Outside at 12:30 p.m. on the hottest day of the year: July 24, 1999 (yes, a Saturday)

Since it was lunchtime, we only served champagne punch...most people were interested in ice water though! :sunny:

My step-brother and annoying SIL got married there too in 2001...and Princeton HS just had their prom there last week.

Amy :)

Speaking of Proms. What do girls in your areas wear these days. One of our neighboring towns had prom tonight and a few kids were in the restaurant for dinner before the prom. When did short dresses and flip flops become prom wear? There was one girl in a long gown with heels and she looked wonderful, but most were wearing very short summer dress, nothing that I would consider Prom Wear or even formal wear. The boys were all dressed in Tuxes tough.

Had to brag on my boys. They both passed their first test tonight and got a yellow stripe on their white belts at Karate! And Davis had enough "High 5" awards to get a blue star for his uniform. Rees got his 5th award today, so he'll get to trade them in for the blue star next week. Proud mom moment! They are loving Karate so much.
yeah boys :cheer2:

When i went to my junior prom (in 2002) everyone had on the long formal dresses..I havent paid attention since then, but now im wondering...I know we all had flip flops to put on after the dance, but im not sure about short summer dresses

The girls around here dress like they are going to the Academy Awards...
Jonathan's date had a low cut...slit up the side dress. She looked gorgeous!! And this was for junior prom!! Can't wait to see in a couple of weeks what they are wearing for senior prom.

Seems like bad news around here continues....we got a call that Bill's cousin died. She was only 59. She was a cancer survivor...during Easter she had a terrible head ache...she ended up at the ER. Turns out she had a blood clot. Things were looking up when we left for Vegas...but I guess took a terrible turn and she passed away tonight. I didn't know her very well, nevertheless, I feel very bad for the family. I think I am developing a death complex.

Kristine
so sorry for your loss :grouphug: :grouphug:

Sounds like nothing went 'as planned.' I hope Nick is ok after a good nights sleep. The only thing that would concern me is the vomiting. That's a definite sign of a concusion. Keep an eye on him.

He thinks that he was throwing up because he tried the chili that was served for supper and he doesn't normally eat chili. We were proud of him for trying it.

I was so touched by Hunter's reaction. He was genuinely concerned about his big brother, but he also told my Mom that he was really worried about Mommy because she spent days getting everything together for the trip. He didn't want me to be upset that they didn't end up camping over night. :rotfl: It really touched me that one of my kids noticed that I spend so much time getting everything perfect for them. It was an ah ha moment.

Deb -

sorry things didn't go as planned - I would wake Nick up every two hours just to make sure he is okay

when Nick was one he fell off a chair and promplty began throwing up - I called the doctor and she said that I should just make sure that I could wake him up every couple of hours

I woke him up when I got home and got him out of his wet socks. DH of course let him go to sleep in his Scout clothes :confused3 . Both of his brother's have been in to check on him (wake him up) and to give him a kiss. I'll check on him again before I go to bed.

I'm finally caught up. I can't miss 24 hours again as I must read everything and it take forever to catch up. Hunter is still up and wants me to cuddle with him on the couch. That's one offer I can't refuse, It won't be many more years before he won't want cuddle time anymore.

Vicki -- is this the stuff?

We have these two, as well as Winnie the Pooh and friends, snowmen, hearts, gold decorative something or other, and a few more. My aunt works for 3-M and she ships this stuff to me any time she sees it! :rotfl:

It really is great stuff -- The Mickey one is the best, as it's clear except for the characters. We use it for everything! :goodvibes
Okay where can I find this tape? It's too cute.

Paula I love your baby gift baskets! I can't imagine anyone not being pleased with them. Great job :thumbsup2
