Hi all! I just wanted to share where I went this morning, otherwise known as a very proud aunt moment

My nephew is a pitcher for his high school team and just signed to play college baseball (on scholarship) at McNeese State University here in Louisiana. His signing was at the school this morning. He will play next year as a Freshman and his coach told him he thought he'd be there 3 years then be high enough in the draft to go pro. That's a long way away and anything could happen between now and then, but I'm so proud of and excited for him. He's a great kid!!

Here's his picture:

:cheer2: Congratulations to your nephew.

Dawn Congrats to your nephew!!

Could someone please go get Julia from school so I don't have to wake Nick up from his nap?
I would if I were some hundred miles closer. Maybe he'll take a nap in the car on the way?

How is your house selling going??

This skin malady is driving me CRAZY!! :scared1:
Have you tried Aloe? That stuff works well for a lot of sun related skin problems. :wizard: Hope it gets better soon.

You absolutely HAVE to see Alladin!!! It's one of the most amazing shows I've ever seen. Definitely Broadway quality! Last time we went the twins were 3 and even they sat still through the whole thing! We were on an aisle seat, and the elephant came right down by them. They were so amazed!
Are there certain areas that are better to sit in then others? I love theatre (especially musicals) as that was my passion in HS and college. I was a theatre arts major as well as children's psychology. I wanted to either do something in theatre or music therapy with kids. Of course, I dropped out before my last year at college to have kids and never made it back. You should be proud that not only are you raising a lovely family but that you're going back and getting your degree in something you want to do. :goodvibes

Had to brag on my boys. They both passed their first test tonight and got a yellow stripe on their white belts at Karate! And Davis had enough "High 5" awards to get a blue star for his uniform. Rees got his 5th award today, so he'll get to trade them in for the blue star next week. Proud mom moment! They are loving Karate so much.
:Pinkbounc Way to go Rees and Davis. Sounds like they're doing great.

Ok, y'all suck. This is the 2nd time y'all have done this to me. So are all the rest of the pages just waiting for me to notice again? How many did it take me this time?

Hi Ya Denise,
I logged off early last night. I do remember the last time and then you were sick :lmao: It only took you just over 60 posts last time :rotfl2:

when the doctor was checking Nick for the sedative yesterday - she detected an irregular heartbeat - she wasn't overly concerned but told me to make sure I followed up with my pediatrician - so I talked to her tonight and she said once Nick is all better - I have to take him for an EKG - :guilty:

he grabbed his head like he does when he has a headache tonight and I asked him if his head hurt - his answer was "No medicine, No doctor, me fine!" :rotfl2:
:wizard: Here's hoping the EKG is easier on him than the other. :grouphug: for Nick. Is he less cranky now and getting along with Julia again?

The Hyperion theater is a really good one. There are really no bad seats for the show. We've sat down front, because my mom is in a wheelchair, and I really like that, as it feels like there is more interaction between the characters and the audience there. We've also sat in the Mezzanine right behind the orchestra seats. Those are also reall good! Maybe Tia will have more specific ideas. I think that wherever you sit you will enjoy the show. It is spectacular!

I was a theater major in college! Then I realized that I didn't want to subject my family to a life of nomads wandering from theater to theater. So, I got my teaching certificate. I never really enjoyed being a teacher, and in the back of my mind was always the idea to become a librarian. I'm just lucky that I have a husband who is supportive enough to let me do this. What a guy!

First blue and now pink... :sad2:

Morning everyone!!

Boy that was an interesting night last night! Thanks for the early morning laughs!

I called off yesterday with a MAJOR head cold...fever, coughing, sore throat, aches...late last night the it seems the fever finally broke. I still have coughing, but hoping cough drops will help. I'm SO TIRED of hot tea. That's all I could handle yesterday. I'm attempting a few sips of coffee right now (and it doesn't taste good), and maybe some toast. So I'm gonna attempt to get ready for work.

:grouphug: Feel better!

My 1st was natural & my 2cd was a c-section. With my 1st, I arrived at the hospital a little after 2am & Garrett was born around 6am. I was so happy that my labor was quick.

My first was natural and my 2nd induced with pitocin and an epidural.
My first arrived on her due date, DH pulled onto the sidewalk up to the door of the hospital at 5.45am and she 'popped' out at 6.09, DH did some low flying that night he thought baby was coming on the interstate :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

If it is something you want to do, you can do it too!!!! I went back after my two kids were born to finish my degree.
