Paul, what did you do to Marti?????

Okay, I have to take a moment in my catching up to share my "Ewwwwwwwww" moment of the day. So I'm reading this novel today that involves a pirate-based virtual reality game. The main character is in a brothel talking to the owner. The owner mentions the name of the island that they are on. However I missed that and thought that she was telling the name of the brothel - Turtle's Back! I busted out laughing in the middle of my office (was reading while my computer rebooted for the 10th time).

I shouldn't have attempted to take a quick nap after work, as I missed post 30,000 on the page 2000 the year of my high school graduation year. I should have came straight here, instead of lying down for 30 minutes. They are right lying down will get you no where in life. :rotfl2: Off to shower and get ready for round two of work, the extended version.

ETA; At least I got post 30,050 on the page of my college graduation. :rotfl2:

I'm off to bed too. Have a good night!

So I thought it was odd Amy and Kevin were going to a wedding tonight -

until I remembered I got married on a Wednesday - and it got me thinking

did most of you get married on a Saturday or was it a different day of the week

and DAWN - you are supposed to be emailing me a wedding picture!!

Saturday for me. We used to laugh when people would say they were having a small family wedding. I had a family wedding but my dad had 12 brothers & sisters while my mother had 8. We were all very close when I was growing up so they had to be invited to the wedding.

Chuck is also from a different hometown and though he has a very small family, they wanted to attend the wedding. Therefore, a weekday just didn't work for us.

Plus, I'd been dreaming about being a fairy princess bride as long as I could remember. I wanted all the trimmings! Our wedding reception was the hit of the town.

I tried to hire the band to play until 2am. They said no one would stay that long. I kept telling them you don't know MY family. :dancer: They finally wrote the contract to play until midnight with an amount for each extra hour after that. Most dances in the community were lucky to have people on the dance floor for half the songs. Well, my family (starting with my grandfather) LOVE to dance. There was someone on the floor for every single song. The band played until 2am and had 3 encores. They loved having people enjoy their music. For years, people would ask when my family was having another party!!!!!!!!!!

Vicki -

I had 350 people at my wedding - it was New Year's Eve - everyone told me that they have never been so drunk as they were at my wedding!

I got such a huge deal on my liquor - the hall had just opened and he had in his paperwork that liquor was 1/2 price if you got married other than Fri/Sat

his price was only 9.00 a person for an open bar to begin with for 4 hours

since I wanted 5 hours - he charged me $5.50 a person and threw in a champagne toast at midnight - I am SURE that man lost a LOT of money on my wedding!!! My sister had the highest liquor bill ever at the hotel she got married at - so imagine pretty much the same group of people on New Years Eve!!!!!

He now charges $22 for an open bar - probably still recovering from my wedding!! :lmao:

Seems like bad news around here continues....we got a call that Bill's cousin died. She was only 59. She was a cancer survivor...during Easter she had a terrible head ache...she ended up at the ER. Turns out she had a blood clot. Things were looking up when we left for Vegas...but I guess took a terrible turn and she passed away tonight. I didn't know her very well, nevertheless, I feel very bad for the family. I think I am developing a death complex.

Kristine

Kristine, I am so sorry about this! I hope that your family will be able to get some peace through this difficult time.

We were married on a saturday becuase of the number of out of town guests we had. When we were looking, though, it was becoming a new trend it seemed to do weddings on Fridays (at least around here) -- MUCH cheaper too! Our reception alone would have been thousands cheaper. Thinking back, we should have made everyone just take that day off!

Hey guys... I need your opinion. Here is another Family shirt design I am playing with. Which one do you like better- the red or the green?

Kristin, I love them both! I do like the green a little better for some reason. Couldn't say why, though. Love them, love them, love them!
