Now that I am all caught up I will say good morning to everyone!

I took today off to clean my house. My parents are coming today to spend the weekend and celebrate Alyssa's birthday on Sunday. Tomorrow we are going to an afternoon matinee at our local dinner theater for a production of Wizard of Oz. Chick-a-Lick caters it!!!! Yum!

This sounds like the song my boys learned in preschool :goodvibes

10 little monkeys jumping on the bed
1 falls off & bumps his head
Momma calls the doctor & the doctor says
No more monkeys jumping on the bed!

The always sounded so cute singing this song lol

Since you all were chatty last night telling stories, I thought I would share one. As y'all know I have been on my diet and have been walking with the dog every morning. I have a 30 minute window I try to keep within and as we have gotten healthier and faster, our walks have taken us further afield from our house, but still in our general neighborhood/subdivision.

I have two students, aged 4 and 6, who live a little less than a mile from my house, but on the same street/cul-de-sac, and they have been seeing me walk some mornings when their Mom or Dad takes them to school.

Yesterday, in class, I told them that I was almost to their house on my walks. I told them that they ought to look for me today because if they told me which house was theirs I would wave at them as I went by this morning. They looked at their Mom and she started to laugh. She informed me that I would have no trouble finding their house because for the past 2 weeks, every night before they go to bed, the girls have been using sidewalk chalk to write
HI MRS. H on their driveway!

Oh how sweet!!!!

Are they out when you'll walk by? You mentioned they sometimes see you. If they aren't around, you should leave a note in response! :teeth:

Oh how sweet :goodvibes

That's cute. It reminds of of the notes Nicholas and I have been leaving for eachother in our shower. Actually it's really helping with his sentence structure, spelling and reading.

Won't they have a great surprise if you take a piece of chalk with you on your walk and leave a reply for them!:rotfl2:

Great minds (or one solitary mind, as it would be) think alike! :rotfl:

My two older kids got to go to work at Kohls with a good friend yesterday which is why I only had Colby at home. All 3 of my boys got to participate in Take Your Child to Work Day. The kids all had a great time. Kohls gave them name tags, tours, let them shadow employees and fed them pizza.

Deb

That's so neat! We have a family friend who works at Kohl's nearby. I'll have to keep in touch with her for when I have kids.... sounds like a great day! Mine were never as exciting

That's the version we know as well! I like Clare's though... especially tying a knot in your pajamas! :rotfl: That's too cute!

Elin I got all teary eyed reading your post. Thank you all for your concern and well wishes. He did fine during the night and says that nothing at all hurts this morning. It must be nice to be 3 again. I did push ups Wednesday night and my chest is really sore today, he falls 6 feet onto his head and nothing hurts  Thanks again everyone for caring.

Deb

And that is why there are still people around to post on this thread.... :rotfl:

Glad he is feeling fine and dandy this a.m.!

Kate: :worship:  :cheer2: :woohoo: :flower3: :cutie: :love1: :thanks: :thumbsup2

You rock! :teeth:

If I'm not too much of a pain, I have a couple of locations in mind that I'm PMing you. But I'm using every one of your previous poems, so PLEASE don't feel obligated -- I appreciate how much you did already!!!! I'm so impressed :goodvibes

That is too cute. I guess that must make you their favorite teacher.

Deb

Their favorite piano teacher, anyway ;)

By the way, it was dew-y last night and the note was not on the driveway this a.m. I think I will take a piece of chalk along tomorrow morning and write a note to them instead.

That's the way I learned it too, Janet. But I like Clare's version too!

don't worry she's around
just look to DIS
and she will be found!

A kid twisted his ankle
you prescribed R.I.C.E.

you should try whiskey and ice

Kate, I'm calling on you for our next birthday hunt! It's tradition here that the birthday presents are all hidden with clues on each leading to the next. I'm starting to run out of original ideas! We also put the clues in code (fairly simple ones) to increase the time a little bit more. It's a fun tradition, except that I always seem to have one too many things to do as it is. (And no one ever does it for my birthday. :guilty: )

again the brainsharing :goodvibes

I am usually out and walking by 7:15 or 7:30 so they are probably still asleep (or practicing the piano ;) ). But if I am late getting out of the house, and if Mom or Dad takes them, sometimes they drive by me as they head to school.

ETA: Wow... not a fancy thing, but...

Yeah, another quick catch up morning! Just what I needed on the last day of the month. I guess I just don't get why there's always such a big push to cram extra billings into the month. If it doesn't bill today doesn't that just mean we start off May a little ahead?

Hopefully, I'll get to be around a little bit this weekend. My BIL comes in today for a conference in Boston and will be staying with us. I'm not sure how much that means we'll see him since he comes in this morning from the CA red eye and leaves Sunday night, plus conference stuff in between. However, it's nice that someone is actually coming to see us for a change instead of us always being the ones to fly out there.

Now, if I could just think of a good place to go to dinner tonight. Tom says that he wants Terra to pick and we will go to her favorite place. Luckily, she doesn't think of Chuck E Cheese as a restaurant or we'd be there. Instead, her response was "a place with chicken". Well, that narrows it down. ;)

A few things I hadn't posted on yet:
Denise - I hope that your morning is going smoothly.

Glynis - I missed posting earlier, but I am so sorry to hear about your presentation. Don't worry though as you will do great recording it today.

Kate - I hope that Nick is feeling better this morning. I am glad that you had a nice time last night.

Well, off to get some work and grocery shopping done. See you all later. Much thought for Rees and Nick and Bethie today. And any of the other little ones who might need it too.

Okay Jen - here are the rest

bathroom medicine cabinet place
I haven't seen you all week
You don't want to be late
shave your face, brush your teeth
& take your wife out on a date

his car
A good tune on the radio
will help the time pass
it's a long way to work
Don't forget to get gas!

the grill
After a long week at work
you deserve a break
so let's grab a beer
and have a delicious steak

medical textbook
long nights of studying
lots of blurred words
you're a resident now
and studying's for the birds!

swim trunks
there are lots of sunny days
and margaritas to sip
let's celebrate our graduation
and go for a dip

dog bowl
he's man's best friend
he's so sweet and good
as long we pet him
and give him his food!

Nick seems much better this morning - still a little warm - but he actually wanted to get out of bed and is tormenting his sister ;)

Thanks for all of your good wished

Denise - I hope things are going well with Rees

I love all of your stories - I am sorry I didn't take notes

Thanks Marci. I will be sure to show it to her when she gets home from school.

House vacuumed, kitchen floor scrubbed. Now off to wrap some presents. I hope I have wrapping paper.
