Thank you! Could I cut the straps off? They'll bother Rees, and we won't need them.
Mine are sewn on right where they meet the seat so I'd worry that the little stubs that were left on after cutting them off would bother him. BUT...it is possible that they are attached some other way now-or not attached at all.

I have been thinking of you a lot, I wish the best for you and your family.

Thanks, Paula. Both of my cousins graduated from the Air Force Academy. They are Majors. One is now Reserve in Huntsville, AL. The other is stationed in S. Korea. I think Rees comes by his love of airplanes naturally! And for his b'day he picked fighter jet party ware from Birthday Express.

Do you have any "big boy" airplane embroidery patterns? Or just the baby ones?

I do Weight Watchers, and I like it. Good luck.

That should have said Nutri not Nurti! I think we could drop the 20 pounds in 6 weeks if we really work at it. I'm too lazy to count points. This way my food is all made!

I need someone to congratulate me and Alan is away, so I'm turning to my family for back pats. I made my goal today of finishing one of my final projects for the semester!!!! It's not even due until May 5, but it's done and submitted to the Professor's email. Hooray! It's such a load off my chest. Now I have to create a web page for a library with a link to a blog, take one final exam (ick) and I'll be done until September! Hooray for me! I made it through this semester! :cheer2:  :cheer2:

I know this isn't a big deal to everyone, but it's HUGE to me! Thanks for letting me cheer!

That is HUGE!!! Congrats!!!!

I did a silver $ for the first tooth and have been doing Sacagawea (sp?) $ since. Lizzie has lost 5 teeth. For the 4th one she made the tooth fairy a card so the tooth fairy also left one of those new Jefferson nickles. I had just gotten it in change for lunch that day and haven't seen one since. For the last tooth she got the $ plus a state quarter.

We live in an affluent community. My DH's family bought our house for $17,000 50 years ago. It is now accessed for over $700K-a small 3 bedroom house. We struggle to pay the RE taxes but just love this location so much. I didn't want Lizzie comparing what the tooth fairy brought her to what other kids in class might get so I was going to use foreign currency but then found the roll of Sacagawea coins at the bank. I better go back to the bank before Joe starts loosing teeth.

Good info, I will start looking for pretty money. I have two DD's so I best get a good amount when I find what I like.

Great News to pass along!! :woohoo:

All my hard work has paid off.
We excepted an offer on the house.
$89,000.00 more than we paid for it, less than 3 years ago.
Passed inspection with flying colors.
All is set for a May 15 closing date.
I have an apartment @ work ready for move in May 1.
School isn't out till middle of June.
Then I start looking fo a transfer.
This means I will have to move 2x's instead of 1.
I think my scanity is worth it though.

I can't tell you all how much you have helped me get through this.

Thank you.
Thank all of you.

Congrats Jo!!!!

And house :wizard: for Amy and Jennifer!

Sounds great. When we went to DL in August they were out of Mickey ice cream bars everywhere. :guilty: We'll have to try them at WDW this fall. I heard they're available as a snack on the dining plan. :Pinkbounc

I was in DL 31 Aug - 6 Sep. Hot, but FUN FUN FUN

Well, apparently everyone got the memo about how great Magic Erasers are except me! :rotfl2:

A warning Cincinnati Disers: don't go shopping for them at the Target in the Voice of America Plaza tomorrow...I plan on buying all of them!!! :teeth:

I am the Stealth DDA poster! Several of us use the Invisible Mode. When we had our green light on, we'd get bombarded with PM requests for designs. This way, it keeps it down some. Plus, then we can POUNCE and nobody is expecting it!

Hello DDA!

I was going to try and read to catch up but my post it note says I left off on page 1622! No freaking way I can read all that!OY!

I am so bushed tonight.Started out the day with my mother giving me a PITA. :guilty: She's doing it again right now.She has to wear Depends at night and it's an absolute BATTLE every night to get her to get them on ....and keep them on!! :sad2: siiiiiiiiiiigh.

It was beautiful here today so we worked in the yard most of the day.I cleaned flower beds and transplanted stuff.I finally have gotten to the point the past couple years that I have so many perennials that I don't have to buy much else.

Then our dog Rex was a muddy, matted mess from the rain we had last week so I trimmed him. :dog2:

I am so tired, read a few pages then gave up.I like seeing all the pictures.Kids and doggys are so cute!

Deb.... your cakes look great!!

Amy....I've just seen the pictures of the DHs....Kevin the rebel in beige!!! :p

I'm going to hunt around and see if I can find more pictures but don't have the energy to read anymore! And the DIS is runnning soooooooooo slllllooooowwww....it's driving me nuts! Not a far ride at this point in my day!!! :teeth:

Oh I watched HSM the other night. It was so cute! The main couple are so adorable.I liked there was no kissy face stuff in it.I couldn't get Erich or Joe to watch it with me though. I think Erich would like the music if he gave it a chance...he's 12 though and full of attitude somedays...grrrrrrr!!! :furious: OY!!

C'ya all this week!
:wizard: for you and your mom. My mom took care of my step-dad's parents til they died. I remember how hard and exhausting it was. Sending prayers. :grouphug:

Phil is doing pretty well. Thank you for asking. We are currently waiting for his next appointment to hear the results on the whole mess of bloodwork they did a couple of weeks ago. Plus, last week he had an MRI done on his spleen and liver to see if they are more enlarged than in the past. I didn't go with him to the doctor, but he gets the feeling that she believes that there is some underlying lymphoma or something along those lines. I guess when she sent him from blood work she said something like "let's make sure your counts are still okay" like she expects that they won't be sometime. I'm not sure what is to come, but at least we are back with a doctor whom we trust to figure out what is going on.

Psychologically he is doing better as well. The doctor put him on the same medication he took about 4 years ago right before all of the health issues started. Within 3 days he started bruising again - the first symptom that put us on this course. He quit taking the meds then and hasn't started anything new. In an odd way, he is doing better on that front because he has found a new issue to worry about in the world. It seems that for once his pessimism (sp?) is helping.

Thanks again for thinking of us.

So glad someone asked!!

I am always thinking and praying for all of the DDA but sometimes I forget to ask for updates!!

Well after 2 months checking & rechecking the Southwest airlines website for them to offer fares for my travel dates..today was the day they opened up late August...the fares were so high I was surprised. I was hoping for $190 RT or less each way but SW for us would have been $261 pp..ouch :badpc:

I checked Jet blue (which had been high recently) & got $89 each way...whew..now that my airfare is booked, resort re-booked with free dining on 4/1 & adr's done back in February, I can stop obsessing about the trip. Just hoping for no hurricane's!:scared:

AnnMarie-congrats on booking! Glad to hear you won't be driving. I'm still holding out for SW prices to drop. I would rather fly out of Providence RI than Boston. I did notice that when June rates first came out they were $122 one way and are now $59. I've booked 10 nights to give me enough wiggle room to be flexible with dates for a 7 to 8 night trip.

Now you've just got to work on light packing. Last year I took Lizzie 2 nights early and then DH, DS, DD (and DFriend) joined us for another 7 nights. I took all the luggage with me. For our family of 5 I had just 2 checked bags.

The Party is over!!! :teeth: It was very nice. I really had no idea how many people would show up, but the invitation went out to about 60 people. The weather was rainy here today. We had about 30 people actually show up and a few people called with unexpected company or sickness issues so they couldn't come. The cakes were a huge success and There is one entire uncut chocolate cake leftover which I can bring to the restaurant tomorrow night which means I don't have to bake tomorrow :teeth: I will also bring the topper of the large cake as a centerpiece. I am so happy that it is over, but glad that I did it. Everyone thanked me for throwing the party and my mother even called when she got home to thank me again. Nick appointed himself videographer and interviewed everyone there individually with questions like "So how do you think their relationship is doing?" It was funny to hear the responses and even funnier to hear the comments he was making. I'm sure my parents will enjoy their DVD.

Thank you sooo much for all the nice comments about the cakes. I must give the florist thanks as the flowers ended up looking lovely even though I had my misgivings. I'm certainly glad that they worked with me on the changes.

Tomorrow I need to sew some items for the travelin' Mickeys.

Deb

So glad the party was a success!!
