Real funny Claire. :rotfl2: I was looking online for patterns last night and he really liked the idea of being Sherlock Holmes. Wanna know why? Because he can still wear a hat (he's in balding denial) and he can walk around with a pipe. :lmao: So if he wants to be Sherlock, what could I be to match??!!

a magnifying glass, a clue, Watson!!

:scared: OMG i hope you're making that up! :rotfl2:

ETA - ok so I read on and you said it was true - but then Amy came on and didn't mention it at all... so maybe it is true... oh dear. Hope you can all still be friends :grouphug:

Clare, I hope you weren't really worried about the outcome of the cookout. Of course Kate made that all up! It was so nice to finally meet Jennifer and Kyle :goodvibes and I can tell you that our child was exhausted by the time we got home from all the playing and running around.

Pictures coming soon!
Amy :)

Glynis -- you're such an enabler :thumbsup2

Well, it's the truth, right? And if I'm an enabler, then I'm in the right place!

First the younger boys:

Kyle loved the playroom, because he was surrounded by all "new" toys. Alyssa spent a lot of time playing with him too. Kate and Steve were very gracious about the messy condition we left this once neat room in.

fordiskyleandbeast.jpg

Nick spent a lot of time in the swing, though he did let Alyssa sit in it for a few minutes (as you know, that's big for two-year-olds to share!)

More to come,
Amy :)

We actually just bought white clothes (pants and shirt for Kevin, skirts and shirts for Alyssa and me) and I spent a tedious three days coloring spots on them with black fabric markers. I also sewed tails on the bottom/back of our shirts and sewed ears on floppy hats. It was easy, and we were nice and cool, since it's typically pretty warm at MNSSHP.

Amy :)

We did something similar for Abi when she wanted to be a zebra except I hot glued stripes on. It's easy and inexpensive costuming and the best for me...the girls think I am awesome even if I can't sew.

Now, the older boys:

As you see, Nick is still in the swing, and he recruited Jennifer's Kyle to push him for quite a while. Kyle was a very good sport!

fordiskyleandnick.jpg

Steve was the master griller of the evening. His cheeseburgers were delicious and though he was confused why Julie wanted a burned hot dog, he still obliged.

fordismastergriller.jpg

Kate and Steve are big Cincinnati Reds baseball fans, and they acquired some of the infamous "red" seats when Cincinnati built a new stadium. Julie's DH, Dave got to soak in the action (the kids running around like maniacs) from these seats.

fordisdaveintheredseats.jpg

And here's Kevin eating a Curly Wurly. Apparently Kate recently purchased $35 worth for a friend we all know and love. Please also note that Kevin was not informed all the guys were wearing green.

Still more to come,
Amy :)

We had a good day. Slept in, and I made a big ole Southern b'fast with biscuits, grits, eggs, bacon. Yummy! Then BK had a princess dress-up b'day tea party. She went as Belle and looked so pretty. I took some pics and will try to post later. After the party we went to the large indoor outlet mall, walked around, went to Bass Outdoor Pro shop to see the aquarium/boats/rock wall. We ate dinner at Johnny Rockets and then rode the carousel. They have the tea cups (like WDW) on it, so guess what the kids and I picked! We spun so fast I thought we were all going to be sick. It was so much fun!!! They are in bed, and DH and I are relaxing.

Oh, and BK got bit by a spider last night on her ankle. It has a big ulcer and is oozing now. It doesn't look like a Brown Recluse bite, but if it's not better we'll have to go to the doctor.

Oh please do post pictures! I bet BK looks perfect as Belle!

It sounds like you all had a fun day... I hope the spider bite looks better today!

I LOVE those books! We read the Magician's Nephew and The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe to Katie and Jacob before we took them to see the movie. I wanted them to have the stories in their heads as they watched. The Magician's Nephew was actually written later, but it tells the story of how Narnia is created, and where the White Witch comes from. It's nice to have that background as you watch the movie, I think. Doesn't take away from it if you haven't seen it, but it adds another layer if you do.

You'll enjoy reading them. I adore C.S. Lewis! The Screwtape Letters is one of my favorite books, ever!

We're huge CS Lewis fans as well! Have you read Till We Have Faces? I like that one too!

Hi, everybody! :wave2:

I hope everyone's Saturday went well...

All you Cincinnatians - I hope the party was a success, keg and all! ;)

Elin - it's good to see you back. I'm glad that things went as well as possible. I've been thinking about you.

Deb - good luck with the party tomorrow. Yet again, just reading a recap of your day makes me tired! You have to be one of the most energetic people I "know". I also really enjoyed your pictures of all of the costumes in your "threats" to Crush!

Denise - glad to hear that you guys had a good day. I hope that BK's spider bite gets better! It's also nice to have an answer to one of the alter ego's identities (I had you figured out, and I have my suspicions on others).

Paula - loved the pics of your girls - and your before and after weight loss shots were great!

Clare and Glynis - here's some :wizard: for finishing those yucky assignments!

Kristine - I don't have any answers for you, but I hope that the computer issue gets resolved. I've spent more than enough hours on tech support in the past - it will make you go :furious: .

Janet - congrats on adding the extra day to your October trip! I am really missing WDW tonight. This night last year, I surprised DH with an IllumiNations cruise as part of his 30th b-day celebration.

Tammi - I'm sorry to hear about the soccer game. Maybe you guys can get some more rest tonight. Your description of meatloaf made me very hungry - it's one of my favorite (and just about only) things to cook!

Paul and Marti - Paul, it's nice to see you posting, and Marti, I hope you and Matt are enjoying your time in LI.

Vicki - tell Becky she looked just beautiful for her prom! I hope she had a fun night, and made lots of nice memories. Was this her junior prom?

Angela - congrats on the baby girl!!!!! princess:

Everyone else - :cheer2: :grouphug: :wizard:

I wasn't taking notes, so was just going off of memory. I'm headed to bed shortly, and have lots to do tomorrow, so I might be around, I might not.

Sleep tight, DDA!

That was from memory?! Then I'm REALLY impressed! :goodvibes

I actually have no pictures of the "older" girls. Of course, you already know how beautiful the four of us are, so no pictures are necessary. :teeth:

But, here are the younger girls:

Miss Julia

fordisjuliaposes.jpg

Miss Carli

Miss Alyssa

fordisalyssaonslide.jpg

And this is what happens when the three girls spend a few minutes alone in Julia's room. Of course, we made them pose in front of Kate's front door!

fordisthreeprincesses.jpg

That's all I have. I don't think Kate or Julie took any pictures, but I know Jennifer had her camera. She may post some later! :goodvibes

Pinochio hugged Debbie!! I'm sitting here watching my video of the Boo to You parade, chatting with my best friend in the whole world and celebrating the 25,000 post on this thread. Life is good!!!

25,000!
!

Is that 2 in a row?! Congratulations! :)

I've got 9 pages to read and I'm not sure if I'll have time. I just finished the Anniversary Cakes. I am no Betty Crocker, but I think they came out pretty good for a girl that has no cake decorating talent.

Do you think this is fancy enough for a 40th party. We are only serving cake, Ice Cream and soda/juice so I want this to look great.

Deb

Thanks for the pictures Amy! They all look like they are having a fabulous time.

I was one that understood Kate's double negative. It took me a minute but I reread it several times and realized she was kidding. She had me for a minute though. I saw our happy little world crashing in around us!!! :rotfl2: Luckily, it only last a minute or two.

I think they look great Deb! Give yourself a pat on the back, if Chris and the boys are otherwise occupied! :goodvibes I hope you all have a great afternoon/evening!
