a boy would stick out and look kind of like a turtle :rotfl: (I swear that's what she said). I admit I was in complete shock.

My c-section is scheduled for 8/29/06 at 11am.

I was shocked by that as well - I wonder what the original Thanksgiving post was b/c I think the answer was pretty snide - totally out of character!

I was trying to figure that part out too. I think that the original post just said, "Thanksgiving is Nov 23 this year." I was surprised too by the reaction and read everything several times to figure out what went wrong.

Ok, Clare, when you come to Disney you'll have to call Kate!
Just Kate!? I think we should collect money for a calling card for Claire to use to call all of us! :)

Rees' appt with the GI doctor is tomorrow at 12:15pm EST. We'll talk about everything and try to figure out the best course of action to take. I'm hoping the doctor has decided what test to order so we can see about the Fundo and surgery. Rees did reflux tonight again (not as bad). He cried at the end of school today as he was stressing out over going to the doctor tomorrow.

One of the women I teach with (actually she is BK's teacher) is watching Davis and Brantley-Kate for me. John will meet us at the doctor. So if y'all can spare some prayers for him, I'd appreciate it.

Hope all went well with Rees's appointment :wizard: :wizard:

Unfortunately, I really don't have any great news to report as far as Cody goes. The tumor was much bigger than they originally thought, and it was wrapped around some nerves. It was a very invasive surgery, and he bled a lot. He has a 7 inch long 5 inch wide and 4 inch deep incision with 3 layers of stitches. They also think that his bowel may be affected since it was SO near there, he may now have some incontinence problems because of the surgery, we should see through the week. The Vet did not sound optimistic, but we have to wait about a week for the report to see what it was and if it had spread. Dave is headed up to the Vet now to decide if we should bring him home tonight, the Vet said that it was up to us to decide, he can stay overnight or go home w/ a lot of pain and meds. If we do not bring him home tonight it will be sometime tomorrow. The surgery was also a lot more expensive than we thought it would be unfortunately. I am really sad about this and I am dreading having him come home because I know when I see him I will be even more upset. If you all could keep up your continued prayers we would very much appreciate it!!!

Sorry to be such a downer on such a happy day...

Thanks

Julie
Oh Julie...I wish I was there to help you hold a paw in one hand and your's in the other.. Tons of :grouphug: and pixiedust: for you and your :dog2: paw:

Oh Denise I do hope that Rees does not have to have surgery again. :wizard: & prayers!

triplefigs said:
That is all I know at the moment. Please pray it isn't as bad as it appears and Rees can avoid surgery. Thanks for all your support. It means a lot.

After 7 days the skin it is attached to sloughs off and it will just pass through the GI tract. At least this time he said I don't have to worry about Poop Patrol. I was giggling when he told me how it would come out thinking about the DDA. He probably thought I was mental.

Denise, glad to hear Rees' appt. went well, and prayers that it will be the least painful route for all of you. :grouphug:

I must admit - this last comment had me :rotfl2: :rotfl:

I'm really bummed. I just know that I'm going to miss the milestone when we pass the old thread! Waaahhhhhh! Everyone go eat dinner for a couple of hours so the thread stays slow until I get back!!!! :rotfl:

Wow! You guys actually listened to me this time. Of course, it couldn't have anything to do with the husband's getting home and needing to spend time with them as well as to feed the kids! :rotfl: I might get to be here for the milestone.

I have been in the UAE a few times and it is a very interesting culture. The UAE is one of the easygoing Arab countries and I found them to be a bit harsh. (but then again I am from California, so what do I know)

I have a few friends who have been to other Middle Eastern countries and they (the females) had a bit of a hard time.

I did enjoy the food and shopping was A LOT of fun, gold is cheaper and you can haggle to get the prices down.

Has your aunt ever brought you an abya (spelling)? I have a few from Saudi and some from the UAE. They are fun to wear for dress up times.

I find this interesting. I do hope you can go visit someday.

yes she has brought abayas for us actually. I have that and a few Saris from Sri Lanka. I have a very dear friend who was born in Sri Lanka and also lived in the UAE and Yemen for a total of 11 years before coming here. He pretty much says that Saudi is one of the only countries still being as ....... different as they are. He said everywhere else he has ever been is COMPLETELY away from the whole "women can't do anything" garbage. There are certain religious ramifications for women versus men, but he thinks that will be forever. But socially, NOTHING. Just in Saudi. It about kills me every time they go back home. It is really interesting to hear about though, and they just sent pictures last week of their town and the 'big city' nearby when they got a new digital camera. It's very neat to see!

I so want some of those polos! I am trying to convince myself that I need new clothes for work, but haven't succeeded much yet. I may have to go back and check the price.

I think they are on sale for $12.99 at Disney Shopping! :thumbsup2

Do the clothes run big or small? anyone know? Those would be really cute for our Sept trip and for teaching school.

I find that the catalog's tops run small (or fairly true to size), but the pants I've purchased from there were HUGE on me!

My first thought was what in the world is she talking about! :confused3 Then I went back and looked and see I'm at 1300 individual posts. I didn't even notice that!!! :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: I'm talking about the milestone when this thread bypasses the old monster thread. When we get to 22,584, we'll have more posts in this thread than in the monster thread.
