Elin you wear whatever you feel comfortable in. I wore black slacks with a white top & black blazer to my mothers funeral. :grouphug:

OK, I actually need help with something. I have not been to a funeral since my Dad died 14 years ago. Add to that the fact that I have recently lost 35 pounds. Is it appropriate to wear slacks to a funeral? I am talking good quality, lined dress slacks. Is it more correct to wear a dress? Should it be black? I think I am going to have to find time in the next day or so to go buy something and I want to make certain I don't spend money foolishly and buy something I can't wear any other time. Thanks for your help.

Sorry about the P3 guys... but I'm always a day late and a dollar short... (is that right??)

Off to shower and study now - hope the Easter Bunny brings lots of candy and sunshine :goodvibes:

Wonderful use of the phrase, Clare!

The Easter bunny has come and gone - and left a trip to Star Wars weekend for Matt. He's excited! We didn't dare tell him its because of the DDA weekend :rolleyes1

We're having company today - yep, we're cooking. If anybody hears sirens from the fire trucks, have no fear! It's probably just a small stove fire and we'll be fine!

I'll check in later just in case! Happy Easter

So, how did the cooking go, Marti??? I didn't hear any sirens. Hopefully, that means it went well.

Just wanted to say that I enjoyed looking at the pictures of the delicious cupcakes & the beautiful eggs! Sounds like you all had a nice Easter & all the kiddos were pleased :goodvibes

Tia our schedules are totally different lol We are staying at AKL, so maybe on the day you are spending at AK we can meet there in the morning?

Kated your holiday sounds wonderful until you get to the knee. :sad2: :sad2: I wish you could find a better thearapist or a better treatment.. or something that would fix you up good as new.... FAST!!!!

Get better!!!

Thanks - I don't think my therapist is the problem!! I just am using the muscles so much now and it is too much for them - I am getting a little worried that PT might not work

I can't wear a brace b/c it would actually enable the problem - my knee muscle has to learn how to hold the knee cap in place and if I used a brace it would just enable the muscle to not learn how to do it -

I agree with everyone else Elin!! Wear what you feel comfortable in

Elin, Losing 35 pounds is just great,,,you go girl.
It sounds like whatever you wear will be fine. Good quality slacks would be ok. It is what does good for you.

I think they're disgusting too, but they're awful cute!
ETA: I misread your post, but I still think they're disgusting! I'm not a big marshmallow fan, though. The EB brought me Snicker eggs. YUMMM!

Add me to the list of people who don't like Peeps. I don't like marshmallows. However, they've started making chocolate peeps in the shape of a bat for Halloween, which I loved before the surgery. Now I think the sugar would just about kill me. I do think that the Peeps are darling, though.

They were big in my kids Easter baskets this year. I found Peeps flavored lollipops, ball point pens with stuffed Peeps on top, and Peeps coloring books. They loved them!

I finally have the kids to bed...Kirsten is sleeping with her collection of Peeps...I even found stuffed ones for her for her Easter basket :rotfl2:

We had a nice anniversary, thanks for the kind words!

Have a good evening everyone!

And so ends me P3 as I have eggs boiling on the stove and I keep forgetting that they are there. I hope that everyone's Easter dinners are delicious. I'll be thinking about you all as I make due with Boston Market.

I am so envious! I love Boston Market ham!!! Unfortunately, we no longer have any Boston Markets around here. So, we had to make do with one that I cooked. Poor us!

YES!!!!!!! At my SIL's father's funeral 2 weeks ago, almost all the women had on slacks with a silk shirt and/or jacket (and it was a very "snobby" funeral). Very appropriate. I wouldn't buy anything new at all. Again, I'm so sorry, Elin.

You have helped a lot, Denise. Thank you. I will still have to go buy something but I know it will be something I can use again for recitals and such in a month or so. Slacks and a silk jacket would work perfectly for both, I think.

Sorry this is late, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!!!!!!!

Make sure its comfy. And if you're doing a visitation/viewing and the funeral, buy one pair of slacks and 2 shirts. You'll be on your feet a ton, so wear comfy shoes too. Please let me know if I can help any more. Hugs to you.

Since I've offered my condolences in a PM I'll get right to the advice. When my mom died six years ago, Matt was in the hospital at the same time with 107 degree fever. I was glad I was dressed - and yes - I wore black slacks. Well, I grabbed what I thought were my dressy slacks, however, I grabbed my dark blue ones by mistake!! So I wore my jeans to the funeral home because they were black and looked better than the blue dress slacks would have. Do not go buy something! Your mother loved you for you - not for what you wore. Honor her by being there in what ever clothing you are most comfortable in. Again - :grouphug:

Dinner was great - at least that's what the firemen said!!!

:teeth:

I'm still catching up - I'm going to post pictures in just a couple of minutes. Dinner was fantastic! And NO firemen were here. Just us and our friends. More in a minute.

Glad to hear you had such a nice Easter - but uh oh - the knee sounds like its giving you a run for your money (another saying Clare!). But you are correct, right now the knee brace isn't a good thing. But I would check with him what he thinks about WDW.

And we all know how much Kate hates to "enable" anyone. Right?

Yep

Sean fractured his back in two places in a collision at first base yesterday!

Ohhhhh!! dear....that sounds painful. We are Colorado Rockies fans here...Todd Helton is my favorite player. The team is so young it is often called Todd and the toddlers!!

While we are on baseballl....I am sneaky :teeth: .....Abi will be singing(with her school's choir) America the Beautiful before the Rockies game tomorrow night! She got a special invitation as she is not in choir this semester. I sang in a choir last year the anthem but I think I am more excited about Abi singing at a baseball game!!

I have talked with them about this already and we are going to think about one for WDW

they told me 4-6 weeks of therapy - we leave for WDW at the end of week 6

so the hope is that it is all better for WDW - if it isn't - I might need a brace and then we will have to discuss other options
