So I've been ruined by the turtle talk last night. Tonight a girl in her late teens or twenties comes into work with a green shirt on. The back of the shirt has two turtles on top of each other, doing you know what. I burst out laughing I could not help myself and was given a very weird look.

Hopefully if Denise gets a turtle Tattoo it will not be this. :rotfl2:

I totally need that shirt to wear to bed at night!!!!!

Hi, friends!

Lawsy, you guys were TALKATIVE the last few days. It has taken me all day, reading here and there, to get caught up!

I can barely remember all that I read, but it seems like everyone is in good spirits, and that deserves a :Pinkbounc for a change. It's nice to see people feeling better, getting to spend time with family, getting answers to their questions, etc.

I don't have much to report, except that I do have 1 new assistant starting Monday! :cheer2: I think she will be good. (I also think my former assistant, whose last day was today, was a little taken aback that her chair would barely be cold before we had someone new! Hope she likes her new job! ;) ) I'm really hopeful that this assistant will be well-trained enough by early June so I can steal away for a few days to Kauai with my family. We still have one more assistant to hire - will be glad when we do!

I'll be in and out all weekend - we aren't traveling, which is nice. DH's b-day is Sunday, and he wanted to spend it at home, even though it is Easter, which we typically spend with our families in Houston. We'll still be busy doing stuff around the house, our taxes, and I know each of us has work to do. It won't be anything like his b-day last year - which was spent in WDW!!! I will be  on Sunday when my AP expires!

Happy Easter and Passover to all my DDA friends!

Congrats on hiring a new assistant! Keeping my fingers crossed that you'll be able to celebrate with your dad!

But thinking of cool ideas (different and weather wise) will be a little tougher!

Do you want them to be Disney? Or are you open to other ideas?

Lindsay,

so glad you got an assistant. Hopefully, you'll get to go to Hawaii for your Dad's b'day. And Happy B'day to Mr. Lindsay on Sunday!

Thanks SO much for all of your thoughts and prayers for our sweet dog!!!!

Kate- I'm sorry, when I said we have to take him in right away, I meant tomorrow or Monday at the latest. We have to call them tomorrow to set everything up, the Vet was the only one left in the office when we reached her tonight.

I think the worst of the storm has passed us for now. I don't like it that the sirens go off for a severe thunderstorm warning. I think that less people will be surprised and a lot of people will start to ignore it thinking that it is just a thunderstorm warning. Bottom line they should only use them for tornado warnings. It's like how they say that there is "BREAKING NEWS" every 5-10 minutes lately, when I was younger that only happened in a major emergency!!!

Hmmm... sounds like a good meal, but not one I could eat very much of. I do realize that you are not eating much of it either, Glynis! I will go search recipes and see if I find anything really yummy sounding that is low fat and low calorie. I will let you all know if I find anything.

That would be cool! I'm always looking for good low fat, or low cal, or low carb recipes. I'm getting quite a collection. Holidays are difficult, though. I promised DH that my having the surgery would not affect the holidays, so I try really hard to make sure that the holiday meals are a balance between what I can eat, and what the kids have come to expect.

I had the surgery on Halloween, and by Thanksgiving I was feeling well enough to do the whole dinner for my family and parents who were visiting. It all smelled so wonderful, but I truly could only eat about 2 bites of turkey, and even that didn't go down well. Next morning I weighed myself and found that I had lost 2 pounds. I told DH that I bet I was the only person who LOST weight on Thanksgiving. :teeth:

I'm afraid that title is mine! I used to lay out all the time when I was a teen, but I would burn and turn red as a lobster, and then it would peel off and I would be as white as ever. Then when I was a senior in high school, I was diagnosed with skin cancer. I had several patches cut off my back, and ever since then, I've decided that if Snow White could handle it, so could I!!!! So, if you ever run into someone that is so white you have to shield your eyes, that'll be me!

Guess we'll have to take your word for it - since we haven't seen a picture!!!

I wish I could splurge and stay at the Contemporary Atrium Club!

Speaking of concierge...I have some clients staying at the Beach Club and I've convinced her to stay concierge. I've NEVER had anyone stay concierge before. Can someone tell me what it's like so I can pass the info on to her?

We stayed GF Concierge in December. It was great. I know that the concierge lounge at the BC does close in the afternoon (isn't open all the time). They IPO staff can make all ADRs, plan little surprises, get gifts, etc. there's a good thread with info over on the Resort board (it's a sticky at the top).

I saw it as more of a "we like to be around people"

The medicine is working, but slowly. The pain in my chest is less, but not gone. At least that's in the right direction!

That's very cool! Pretty much on base for me, too. Especially my strength and weakness.

Thanks for sharing this!

Denise - I'm so glad that it went the way you wanted today for Rees. Even better that all three kids will get excused for the week. Now you can go and have a guilt free time! OK - the only guilt will be that you are missing the Linetzky troop, but oh well....

I think I could easily cook what my DH would like to eat and not have it bother me at all. But my DDs are very health-concious and are more apt to like what is better for me than the ham and scalloped potatoes that Bob would like. So, we are looking at seasoned and baked chicken, rice florentine and I will do potatoes for him. Maybe the asparagus on the grill as was suggested earlier (by Robyn?) and not certain what we will do for dessert. I have a low fat spice cake that could have non-fat Cool Whip on it for me and possibly a cream cheese thin icing for anyone else who might want it.

Hi Guys;

We just got some bad news tonight about our 4 year old dog Cody. He is a big Golden Labrador Retriever.

Dave took him to the vet today for his regular check-up and shots and they felt a lump on the top of his hind legs. They did a needle biopsy to see if it was anything to be concerned about.

We went out for a quick dinner and when we got home there was a message from the Vet asking us to call them immediately. We called and they said that it was a tumor of some sort w/many active cells to it. I don't think that it sounds too good by what she said. We have to take him in right away to have the tumor removed and sent to a pathologist. If it is benign that will be all that we have to do, if it is malignant there is not much they can do.

He is the absolute best dog in the world, he is so gentle and loving. He looks after the kids and lets them do anything to him. I don't know what I would do without him!!!

I am also worrying about how much this will cost, I mean we already paid almost $300 for today. Obviously though we will do anything that we can do for him!!!

I know that in light of all of the many hardships that I have heard about on this board this may sound trivial, but he is such a big part of our family!!! If anyone can spare a prayer or two I would very much appreciate it!!!

Thanks,

Julie

Julie, this isn't trivial at all! He is part of your family and this is a hard thing! I'm sending :wizard: that it will be ok, and I'm also sending :grouphug: for your whole family!

Julie,

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I will pray it is a benign tumor, and he is perfectly fine. Keep us posted!
