That is from the Disney Tales store in Downtown Disney. It is actually for a dog (shhh, don't tell Mickey). That is an extra small. I have to roll up the bottom a little bit but I actually like the look on him.

If you like the one on his bed, wait until you see my new purchase. I was at Target the other day looking for accessories for him. I found the coolest folding bed for him. It looks alot like mine that I use when I am at Girl Scout camp. The theme for the blanket is ice cream. I just had to buy it. I haven't gotten it setup yet but I'll post pictures when I get it done. I needed a portable bed for him so he can come to camp with me. The girls at camp will love him. I usually have my Tiggers, my build-a-bear, and my panda with me when I go to camp. Pal Mickey will fit right in. Now he needs his own sleeping bag and tent.

And yes, I'm obsessed!!! Nuts too! But it is a fun nuts!!!

As for a tent you might need one of the miniature store models they use to show what the tents look like. Or they sell them for the 18 inch dolls, like the American girl dolls. They also sell sleeping bags for those dolls, but I am not sure if PM would fit because of being wider.

L.L. Bean has a L.L. Bear that has rain jacket, sleeping bag, boots, tent, back pack, etc but I am not sure if it would be the right size.

I always take quite a few stuffed animals when I go to camp for the girls who forget or are homesick.

No offense, but I avoid I-95 like the plague! I follow Route 13 and go over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel. I'll wave as I get off the Delaware Memorial Bridge.

Just make sure to keep Kate far, far away from there because I am sure she would not appreciate the like 13 miles of bridges and tunnels. Or just the bridge part.

Denise -- I think that sounds wonderful! I have often kicked myself because I didn't go in to education. I always loved school and I would love to have the same schedule as my children. Unfortunately, it would take a lot of certification now since I'd also have to work on all the classes for special needs students in order to work in the school with them, as well as the general certification.

You did not waste your degree -- you use your science/nursing knowledge everyday with your beautiful figs! And you might want to go back in to it one day when the timing is right.

I like Lindsey's advice, because even though you have taught pre-school, being in the school system might not be what you want to do after all, so you can get a taste, have "face" time and make sure that it is where you want to be. Plus you have flexibility if something important is going on so you can turn down the days where you have conflicts/need to study/have sick kids etc.

Good luck in your decision, and here's a :grouphug: .

Well, it's been an emotional day for me! A neighbor of mine lost her oldest son this week to a tragic car accident. She is absolutely devastated, since her second son killed himself not 9 months ago. Right after the suicide, her husband had a massive heart attack (fortunately he survived), and then she was diagnosed with several small brain tumors. When I heard the news about her oldest son today, I just started to bawl. How much more is one family expected to handle? I feel so badly for Connie and her family, and wish there was more that I could do. Our congregation held a special prayer meeting for them today, and then we were all told that another member of the congregation is having surgery on Wednesday to have a majority of his colon removed, and a third member is taking her oldest daughter to a rehabilitation center this week so she can get therapy for a drug problem that is related to some sexual abuse she suffered.

I feel like I've been crying for hours. I probably won't be checking in here, much as I've volunteered to help with dinners for these families this week. I feel like next to praying cooking is one thing I can do to help. If you've got any spare pixie dust and prayers to send my way I'd appreciate it for the Romney family, the Folkman family, and the Loser family.

Thanks.

:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: Hope that's enough to get you started - Glynis I think you are one of the most kind and generous people that I know.

In fact you all fall in that category - I'm not sure if its the DDA that struck lucky, or its just that Americans in general are much more kind hearted and willing to help out people than the English seem to be. Don't get me wrong I know lots of nice people but you guys always seem to be going the extra mile for someone with no sign of any personal gain in sight, other that it makes you feel good to do it.

So here's some :wizard: for all of you - you make me proud :grouphug:

Sounds like everyone had a pretty good weekend - I'm glad that no one was affected by all the nasty storms around. I stayed up way too late catching up on the thread last night, and here are some general wishes to go around to everyone - :cheer2: :grouphug: :wizard:

We had a busy weekend, as DH's brother and family came to visit us. My 2 nieces, who are 4 and 2, are quite something. We took them to the aquarium which was a lot of fun, and of course, I had someone other than DH to talk about Disney with! :goodvibes They are going to make their first trip to the World with us next December, and are already talking about it! :cheer2:

Here is a pic DH took of them at Thanksgiving - my SIL has all of the pictures on her camera from the aquarium.

I am really sorry to interrupt here, but I am seeking MidNite. I saved a lot of her designs, but failed to save her Cruising design thinking I could always find her and her site and download it from there, but then as I got close to being ready to do my pieces I went to find her site and it's been removed. I don't know the background of anything that happened here on this board as I lurk only here, but I really want to reach her and ask ever so nicely to be able to use her Cruising design. :goodvibes I was so hooked on it and loved it so much I have no idea why I didn't save it. :guilty:

Can you all, or MidNite herself, help me???

I am a huge fan!

She is around here on and off. I'd send her a PM in case she misses your post. Have fun cruising!

I am off to learn about Bees. Emma's kindergarten class is headed to an outdoor education center next week for an overnight trip. All the parents have to teach an activity on one day and then be a chaperone the other day. My activity is bee keeping. Not sure I feel so confident in being around bees. But I guess it is better than having to row a boat.

she can't be PM'd and she turned off her e-mail capabilities and her site is removed. Is there a reason - would I be bothering her and she doesn't want to do this anymore? I don't want to open a wound here. I just loved her cruise design.

Good morning, everyone. Boy, it has been quiet around here since Friday night. Hope everyone is well. Kids went back to school. I'm sitting here filling out all their paperwork to register them for Kindergarten tomorrow. Where did the time go?

DH and I are talking about me going back to school to get my certification to teach school. I have a BS in Biology/Chemistry/Physics and my BSN in nursing (yes, I've already gone back to school once to get my 2nd Bachelors). This would be one night a week for maybe up to a year, but then I'm a certified teacher and can teach elementary, maybe Science in middle/high school. I think teaching is definitely my best choice for working and having the lifestyle I want (be home for summers, holidays, no weekends, etc). The thought of going back isn't fun for me, but I think that 5 years from now when they're approaching middle school I would be so glad I did it now. My mom thinks I should. My mom and SIL teach elementary, both of my grandfathers had PhDs and taught college, my grandmothers taught high school, so I come from a long line of educators. I hate to "waste" my nursing degree, but nursing is just not conducive to what I want family wise.

Any opinions? I know we have several teachers in the DDA.

Have you considered being a school RN? My mom took this route a few years back when she realized that being full time at the hospital left no family time. She loves the kiddo's she works with , gets weekends and summer off, doesn't have to bring work home to grade and she isn't letting here degree go to waste.

I didn't know she couldn't be PMd. Kate or anyone else know if Midnite would share the design?

Yes, but those jobs are REALLY hard to get, and it could be years. I love being a nurse, but with Rees and all his therapies, doctor's visits, etc, I really need to be home after school and not have them in after-school care. That's why teaching is such a good choice for me.

We've started telling our kids that they have to wait until the last day of vacation before spending their souvenir money. That way, they have a chance to see everything and can make a better choice.

That's what DH makes me do

I have another question. I probably post should post this on the restaurant board, but I feel like I'm asking "friends" here instead of "strangers." I trust your judgment more.

We tend to spend the entire day in the parks. We've always gone in May before and had no problems going 9-9 in the MK. This year we're going in August. Hours are 9-10, but I know that it is going to be much hotter. I thought it might be nice to head out to one of the monorail resorts for lunch or to at least have a sit-down lunch in MK to take a little break from the heat and crowds. What would your suggestions be? We won't be on the dining plan that week, so we'll be paying for it. Is it worth the extra money over CS to be at a TS restaurant at lunch time? We have reservations the following week for CP and CRT for dd's birthday. I was thinking about Kona or LTT, but maybe you'll have even better suggestions.

Beth

Kona is awesome. I've only been for dinner but the food was great!

I've never done LTT. I have also never done Plaza Rest. at MK but have heard great things about lunch there. Have also never done but hear good things about Grand Floridian Cafe

We really enjoy going to Trails End at Ft Wilderness for a mid day break. You get there by boat from MK and the food is the same as Hoop De Do except lunch has no ribs. It is a buffet and lunch is only $12.99 for adults.

I'm still working out what we'll do. I've run the numbers on DVC and it seems like at least a 7 year pay off so for now I'll stick to a moderate resort. If I could just convince my DH to stay home I could just get one room at POR. He doesn't enjoy it so I don't know why he wouldn't want to just stay home and relax and let us have a good time. I really leaning toward a package with free dining. I figure even paying rack rate and having to purchase 3 extra 1 day tickets for those of us with AP's we'll still make out in the end. I think I'll talk to him again tonight to see if he thinks he's worth the extra nearly $2,000 it will cost to take him.

Good morning DDA!!!

I had a power packed weekend to tell you all about, but first I have a few things to get done. I also have just about 100 pages to read, so I will be doing so of and on all day.

I hope everyone is having a good Monday so far.

Denise --

speaking from personal experience, you cannot beat teaching as a second income and a time-factor with little kids. If you LOVE to teach then I say go for it! And I agree that many school systems are so needing of teachers that they are allowing people to become certified while they are teaching full time.

If you decide to wait to teach full time until you are already certified, you might want to look into substitute teaching at the kids' school. (I did that for 2 years before taking the job I have now.) Hours are the same as theirs and you won't have to do lesson plans right away :teeth:

ETA: I should have kept on reading before I responded :rotfl:
