You guys are impossible to keep up with. I have been on and off trying to get things packed for Emma's Kindergarten overnight camping trip on Thursday. The amount of stuff they are requiring we bring for what will amount to about 28 hours is crazy.
3 changes of clothes,as well as underwear and socks. Pajamas and 2 pairs of shoes. Pillow & sleeping bag. Warm jacket and rain gear and then of course bathroom stuff. How do they expect a 6 year to carry all this?

That is a lot of stuff! How crazy for just one night.

BTW - I LOVE your new birthday countdowns. I'm going to have to go check them out!

Okay guys - I need some DCL advice.

DH and I are going to take the 4-night Wonder Cruise right after Thanksgiving in 07 for part of my belated 30th b-day trip. We've never cruised before!

Availability is pretty wide open right now, and we're wanting to book a Cat. 6 room (the deluxe stateroom with verandah). My options for a room coming up on the DCL site are 6076-6082, or the other side of the ship with 6576-6582.

Which should I go for? I've read some of the reviews here on the DIS but I just don't know. Do I want to be on the port side? Is there a better part of deck 6 I should be going for? HELP! :goodvibes

Lindsey -- sorry -- I haven't done the 4 day, so I don't know what side would be best for the Bahamas. We love 8080 and 8078. When we dock at Castaway Cay, they are on the dock side, which is perfect for us. My boys love watching all the loading and unloading going on, on the dock -- tractors, gators, golfcarts, forklifts -- it's a guy thing. Most people love the other side of the ship as they can see more of the island. Also, it depends on the weather as to if the captain backs in or goes in forward (or doesn't make it in at all). If you don't get your answer here, go ahead and post on that board. (I'm like you -- I come here first because I think the DDA's are much nicer that on most of the boards...) I have been fairly successful asking for help over there, as long as I preface my questions with a disclaimer that I did try search first....they can get pretty snacky at questions that have been asked a lot.

Steve says I talk too much about the boards too - maybe they can bond and start a support group

I was thinking we could start a DDA Turtle thread for them to complain about us on!!! :lmao:

I think I'd have to get Phil a login for that. He's always asking me, "Who are you talking about?"

I am sooo going to hate myself in the morning. I logged in at quater of 11 to "catch up". I was about 50 pages behind then. You guys posted at least 20 pages while I was trying to catch up which means that even though I was on the thread I wasn't even participating in the posting party. :furious: I'm sure that there are going to be some people way behind come morning. Oh wait a minute it is morning.

I spent the day paying bills and taking care of kids (school vacation). I also did a meals on wheels of leftovers for my parents as they are still under the weather. For some unknown reason I decided at 5:30 PM to go to Home Depot and buy the new vanity sink top for our bathroom. I had burned the countertop years ago and recently something cracked the old sink. Since we're having the party on Sunday I wanted the house to look nice, thus the push for a new counter/sink. Instead of waiting until tomorrow I decided to install it tonight. (What was I thinking? :confused3 ) The old one came apart easily and the old hardware fit nicely on the new counter until we set it on the cabinet, the pipes didn't line up. So I went back to Home Depot and bough the pipe fittings that I needed, came home and cut/refitted the plumbing then got it all chaulked. It looks great, but took much longer than I expected. I didn't get a chance to log on until I should have been headed to bed.

Good night to anyone that is still up. Good Morning Clare as you should be logging on any time now :wave2:

Talk to you in the morning.

We are trying to eat together for 4 meals. Has any one ever had a problem making ADR's for 8 people? HDDR said we will have to be at 2 tables of 4 and I am wondering if we will have the same problem at CP, 1900 PF dinner and Chef Mickey's?

Kristin, I missed this part earlier, but just saw Steffy's reply. When we had 8 last August I was told the same thing with almost every ADR. At every meal we were put at a big table or two 4-tops side by side. I wouldn't worry about it as you should end up right next to each other or with tables pushed together.

Tammi,

Your kids are beautiful!
Thank you! I think so too, but I'm afraid my opinion is a little bit biased. ;)

All of our DDA kids are beautiful!

Good morning. About to head out to the doctor's appt.

Dawn, you should almost be done with the U/S. Thinking of you and can't wait to hear it's a girl!

Chanon and Vicki, sounds like Calico Beans should be a signature dish of the DDA.

Beth, glad you had a good Easter. And great Readers Digest version, Kate.

Thanks to all for the good wishes and prayers today. I'll post when I get home this afternoon.

Tammi,

Love the Easter pictures. I always wanted to do the "take a picture at the same place each year" Problem is I never remember!!

Beth - I am going to attempt a quick recap - but I am so afraid that I am going to miss something -

Most important: Elin's Mom passed away on Sunday - the funeral is at the end of the week

Rees - has his doctor's appointment today so Denise should know more this afternoon (and she finally committed to her October trip with the blessing of Rees' school!)

Dawn - is probably at this very moment arriving for her sonogram and we should know later this afternoon if we will have another DDA princess: or pirate:

Julie's dog Cody has a lump in his leg and they are doing a test on it today to see what is wrong with him

Everyone posted their Easter reports

I think everything else was chit chat and harassment - someone please let me know if I forgot anyone or anything important (I am really sorry if I did!!)
Good recap....

The only other thing that I can think of, if you are interested, there were some yummy sounding recipes posted.

Good Morning Early Risers!!!
:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Good morning to you (and Denise and Lindsay and anyone else!)! Of course, now it's approaching afternoong (okay an hour and a half still), but I'm still trying to catch up oh chatty ones. Thanks for keeping me busy when I should be working. :wave2:

It is such a nice day :sunny: here so Molly and I are headed outside for a walk around the neighborhood. My DH is home sick, his allergies, and is making me  . Him being home always throws me off my routine. Will check in at nap time.

Thanks for the compliments on the girl's tickers. Emma loves that it has her favorite princess on it.

tammi -

did you wake up today or did last night wear you out!?!?? :teeth:
Believe it or not, I had a hard time falling asleep. Too many catnaps in the van on our drive home I guess. But yes, I was up 6:30 and am just now getting a chance to check in.

Dear Boss,

I'm sorry but I will be late for work due to being glued to my computer until the wee hours of the morning, waiting for the 22000 milestone to happen, and chatting with the best ladies in the whole world! :teeth:

About a year back there was a list of the lamest excuses used to be late/absent from work. I got the list that said "I couldn't find my shoes" the same day I couldn't for the life of me find a matching pair of shoes. :rotfl2:

Sorry I'm late for work the DDA'ers kept me up late!!

Easy to comment on such a cute family! My boys could care less about dressing up for Easter...so I have to get excited about it on my own. It's fun to see all the pictures of the kids dressed up. I can't find what my DH did with our pictures, but i'll post a few when I find them.

The Easter bunny decided to leave money in some of the eggs, instead of so much candy (we hide three department sized bags full of eggs, and only 6 kids now hunt -- the others are too cool to do that!). So, some eggs would have a penny, nickel, dime or quarter (or a couple of coins) in them. The kids LOVED that. Andrew ended up with over $7 in money. $1 of that was an Eisenhower dollar. Each of the cousins got one of the special eggs one an Eisenhower.
