Glynis, you look fantastic!!! WTG! :cheer2: :cheer2:

Thanks for all the continued kind words about the outdoor fireplace! DH is mighty proud of building it, so I had to share it! I honestly don't know where he finds the energy to do such things. He works M-F 5am to 7pm (and sometimes later) and Saturday 5AM to 3pm. But building is his passion so he always finds the time! (Clare- we can cook marshmallows and hotdogs on it- but we haven't yet! It is a real wood burning fireplace with a gas starter.)

Easter was fun here! The Easter Bunny left tons of Easter eggs hidden around the house for Kyle- with matchbox cars inside. He loved it! He also got a Bob the Builder Talking Toolbelt, a Easter Book, some small outside trucks (for digging in the dirt!) and Toy Story and The Incredibles on DVD (Easter Bunny was also trying to fulfill her Disney Movie Club Commitment!). We went to the IL's for dinner and he got tons more stuff there (It was almost as bad as Christmas :sad2: )- including a big semi-trailer carrying case filled with more matchbox cars!

MIL, SIL and I sat down and went through our trip plans so I can make our ADR's next month. I showed them our plan and they built their plans around it. We are trying to eat together for 4 meals. Has any one ever had a problem making ADR's for 8 people? HDDR said we will have to be at 2 tables of 4 :confused3 and I am wondering if we will have the same problem at CP, 1900 PF dinner and Chef Mickey's?

And lastly, I highly recommend the Jergens Natural Glow lotion to all you fellow "whitest-woman-in America" girls. Today was day 4 and I can really see the difference!!

I think that is all! Hope everyone is having a great day!

I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with my friends Amy & Julie at the Museum center - celebrating Carli's birthday! We had so much fun - even if Nick decided to explore on his own a few times!! :teeth:

As we walk into the Children's area - what was the first thing we saw?!? (Julia took the picture so it is not the best quality)

Steffy,

Sounds like you had a house full of fun and love! Great Easter!

Thanks Denise,

Yes, I'm glad we both had grand holidays...

Hate to post and run AGAIN but its Bunco night at my college roommates house so I have to drive an hour and 15 minutes. Got to head out. I'll be back later, so keep it down! I'm getting to old to keep up with too many pages. :teeth:

Ok, this was the third one after I was sure there wouldn't be any after the first one. It is on 8/15/2005.

Good evening everyone

Man - I am TIRED!! But we had a GREAT day!!!

Yesterday was so beautiful that we had our windows open and ate outside - our lawn guy was here yesterday - so you can imagine the sore throat, runny nose and itchy eyes I woke up to this morning - A Claritin-D quickly cleared it all up (Just file this for the rest of the story!)

The kids loved their Easter baskets and Easter Egg hunt - Julia was even okay with her note from the EB saying he would bring Parent Trap back to her once his DVD maker was fixed!!!

We then headed to my in-laws for brunch - they went all out - there were 6 adults and my 2 kids there

the kids had another egg hunt and the adults enjoyed mimosas as we watched (remember that Claritin-D?!!?) - Nick was also so excited b/c my MIL had a dancing bunny with an egg in its hand and the egg pops open during the song and out comes a ducky!! He finally got his ducky out of an egg!!!!

then we had brunch - this is what my MIL prepared:
Pasta salad, caeser salad, eggs, goetta, a spinach and egg quiche, a mushroom and egg quiche, ham, cinnamon rolls, regular rolls, and another roll but I forget what it was. The amount of food was sincerely obsene!! When we were done we could have fed an army with the leftovers - and then she says

Who wants dessert - she had a cheesecake tray assortment - I felt horrible b/c none of us could eat another bite!!

Their kitchen is upstairs and we ate downstairs so by the time I had chased my kids up and down the steps 3 or 4 times - my knee decided it was done for the day! and at about the same time - the claritin-D and Mimosa decided they didn't mix well and I was on the verge of a food coma!!! Luckily - they were all very understanding as I lay on the couch doing everything in my power not to just fall asleep and they even chased my kids for me!!

On to my parents house for dinner and luckily I was able to get a little rest in the 1/2 hour car ride and arrived there feeling a little better.

We had another Easter Egg hunt - my dad is the MASTER of hiding easter eggs - he loves to use tape when hiding - I have seen him make contraptions to hang eggs in places and one year - he taped one inside the register - the older we got the harder he worked to hide them - a normal Easter egg hunt at our house lasts an hour for 12 eggs each - but it is always a blast -

we had 4 hunting for eggs - ages 2, 4, 8 & 10 - my dad offers a reward to the first person to find all of their eggs - The ten yo was sure the money was his! What he didn't know was my dad's hiding curve usually means the youngest will always win - which Nick did - when he found his last egg - he promptly screamed - Nicky wins, Nicky wins - it was so cute!!

After dinner - my knee became very angry with me and I had my first all out collapse and fell (I have caught myself every other time) - thankfully I didn't get hurt and didn't have anyone or anything in my hands - but I finally realized why the doctor told me to quit carrying my kids around!! Now if only they understood!!!

We came home and Nick was out in about 2 seconds - Julia might be on a sugar high b/s she can't sit still long enough to fall asleep!!

I hope you all had a wonderful day!!

Sounds like you all had a great time and you need to relax that knee of yours and take the stress off it, I think DH should stay home and let you relax while he cleans house, cooks and does the laundry!!!

Pink Cement was originally called something like pink fluff or Cherry parfait. However when my brother was about 4 to 7 years old we had it for a holiday or party or something. We had it at least once before. He asked for the pink cement. It could be he called it this because it is very thick and about the consistency of cement. Why he called it this we really don't know but the name has stuck ever since. He is 22 months younger than me so it has been this name for years in our family.

I should ask my Mom if she can more closely pinpoint when it was officially dubbed Pink Cement. I think it would make a cute scrapbook page with the recipe and story of how it got its name.

Pink Cement

1- 8oz cool whip
1- can Sweetened condensed milk
1- can cherry pie filling
1- can crushed pineapple
Mini marshmallows

Dump everything together in a bowl and stir. It is very easy to make. As for how many marshmallows, add until you think it looks right. Refrigerate overnight, so the flavors blend together.

Below is a picture, for some reason it turned kind of purplish this batch. The coloring comes from the cherry pie filling so it varies depending on the pie filling. My family typically serves it in a bowl just the way it is, but sometimes we will make it into a pie by putting it into a graham cracker crust.

This looks so good. I've tucked the recipe away for the next time I'm asked to bring something to a party. Looks so yummy!

Hi All

Our family had such a good day.

I made the cupcakes. They were a hit. Chanon, thank you so very much. The recipe which I followed made more that 24 cupcakes even when I filled each one almost to the top. I swear when I was frosting them, I could smell visions of Play Dough!!!
I also included a picture of my two grandsons. They are so cute. Apparently my DD and DDIL decided to dress the boys alike this year just like last year just different shirts. Plus I included a picture of the bracelets the three of us have. Each girl has one with their son's name and the one on the right is mine with the two boys names to be joined later this year by my third grandchild.

Cute boys.
I have a mothers bracelet too with 2 strands each with a childs name and love it, so many people comment on it when I wear it.

You should! I really love going, and it's nice to have a membership (as long as you'll get your money worth) so I can go often, and not have to stay all day if I don't want.

DO NOT GET A TOSHIBA!!!!

I SECOND THIS (EVEN THE YELLING!) :teeth:

Seriously though, I had one that was a piece of junk. It was "top of the line" when I started freshman year at Miami". I paid a crapload of money for it (to put it nicely ;) ) and it was worthless to me in less than a year, with all sorts of stuff going wrong that could hardly be fixed for the price of a new computer (if at all).

I have a Powerbook now (Mac) and LOVE it! I don't think you can beat Mac quality, if you don't mind getting used to something different. We keep a Windows desktop and a Mac laptop to have the best of both worlds. :thumbsup2

We had a horrible year this year. The sugar content in the sap was very low compared to previous years which means it took a lot more sap to make a gallon of syrup. Because we had to boil longer we got much darker syrup this year too. It looks like we will have to buy syrup from a local distrubitor in bulk and repackage it just to fulfill orders that we have. You just never know. This is the second bad year in a row. I sure hope that next year is better.

Deb

Sorry to hear that.
Every time I see Maple syryp in the stores now I think of you.
