Seriously, you guys are making me blush! There are days, however, when I think my kids could tell you that I'm not so sensitive and caring. There are days when dealing with them just makes me  .

So, what you are saying is you are normal???

Ok, Kate. What happened with this? The thread never posts a winner.

And more importantly, how did you have time for this as well as the DDA? I swear you must not sleep!!! :rotfl2:

WPASADI is a reality game we play over on the community board - it stands for wickedly perfect amazing survivor american dis idol or something to that effect - we all just remember WPASADI - it started out with 36 players on 6 teams and each week one team gets immunity from a group challenge and the other teams have individual challenges and the boards vote on who gets to stay - we are now down to 12 players (but I believe probably only 7 really active ones)

my team has won immunity twice and has 6 players left (we did merge at one point - so we are remnants of 2 teams) the other teams each have 3 players

Meanlaureen, DemonLlama and Kaylajr are the hosts and they come up with the challenges and rules each week - then there is a panel of about 12 judges (they come and go week to week) who judge the competition

this week the hosts have joined forces as a team and the judges have taken over as the hosts -

we have to write a comic book - here is a link to the challenge

http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=881422

recruiting 8 DISers is a challenge and we didn't want to use players we have used before - I am in charge of website design for my team - so when our recruiters got frustrated they asked if there was anyone I could think of that we hadn't already asked - and I knew right where to go!! You will find 3 of our fellow DDA's in our next challenge - I will post the link when we are done!

That is amazing!

I just got off the phone with our mortgage loan counselor. We had an error in our credit report regarding the deferrment of Kyle's student loans. Nothing that changed our score drastically, but important to the 'doctor loan' criteria. So we are in the process of getting it fixed. In the meantime, we were told, we can file for an exception and still get the ball rolling. Well apparently they won't grant exceptions anymore, so we are waiting on the credit bureaus. We talked about actual rescoring, but that would cost us hundreds and hundreds of dollars. So the advice given was just to wait until May 1st, see how things pan out, and if things have changed on their own by then.

Well, not exactly what I wanted to hear, but something at least, right? But now we just wait, and hope things just take care of themselves? :confused3 Not to mention the fact that we can no longer look at a mid-May closing, we're going to be lucky to get in on time for Kyle's start date (mid-June). AND.... that means that - if we're "lucky" - we can close the first full week of June. When we're supposed to be on our graduation trip. :guilty: I don't know what to do . I don't want to cancel the trip until at least May 1st when we figure out if this is even going forward. But at the same time, the longer I wait the more money I lose (I already lose a huge chunk of it). I guess it was a stupid idea to try and go on vacation while all of this is happening... but I really felt like we needed it. And not just because I want to go, but because it was supposed to celebrate all that we worked for, and also be something for our anniversary since our honeymoon (aside from the Disney portion) was a disaster.

Who knows.
:sad1:

Jennifer, Sending you :grouphug: and :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: that this get sorted out quickly and efficiently so that you can still go on your Disney trip. You truly do deserve it and I hope it works out so you can go.

I'm sorry Jennifer. I hope they're able to figure everything out quickly so you can move forward. I wouldn't skip the vacation unless you had no other choice. With 2 busy careers, you and Kyle need some time to yourselves to relax and have fun.

I am glad to hear that everyone had a good Easter.

We were there in May of 2004. Alan had to go for work, and I tagged along. It was a really fun trip, and I promise I enjoyed myself, although you wouldn't think it to look at my face.

Now I want to go back and see how much more I can get done without all the extra weight!

That's actually what I am typing on right now. But I have heard Toshiba has went down hill since this was purchased. It's had its problems but every computer I have met has had its share of problems.

Absolutely do not buy a Gateway, 30+ service repairs papers and they wouldn't replace the whole system and the thing never worked properly. I wrote to main headquarters and opened a complaint with the better busineess bureau. It was so frustrating.

Whatever you buy get the longest most comprehensive warranty coverage you can get. Laptops are extremely expensive to repair. Simple repairs on a desktop might warrant a complete chasis replacement on a laptop. If the screen goes you are talking $600+. The more mobile you are going to use it all the more reason to get a good extended warranty.

Good luck to you in your decision.

Jennifer,

I'm so sorry to hear about the mortgage stuff. It was such a pain in the neck when we went through it a couple of years ago - and it's so nerve-wracking - you feel almost naked that these complete strangers know EVERYTHING about your financial situation.

:wizard: that things work out for you guys. Have y'all found a home yet, or are you just getting pre-approved for the loan? I hope there's a way that you can still go on your trip - it sounds like that would be a nice break from everything for both of you. I will keep my fingers crossed. :grouphug:

You scoundrel!!!!!!!!!!! I am so hungry today. BTW, did you let the fire department know you were cooking again?

Nah - they requested to be notified only on the holidays as there is less staff manning the firehouse on those days :teeth:

A few of you think you know my secret? I will tell you this much……One of the fine DDA cult members knows. (tee hee)

Aw come on - let us know what it is - or at least who knows so that we can badger that poor person!!!!

OK, here is my attempt to acknowledge 50 pages of posts :goodvibes

Dawn- Love the Peep cupcakes! Have tucked the info into my mental roladex for next Easter!! BTW: I too craved Coke when I was pregnant- but not from a can- fountain Coke (i.e. from McDonalds etc.) But I would only drink 1 16oz per day since I was worried about the caffeine!

Julie- Congrats on the weight loss!! :cheer2:

Elin- :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: I am so sorry about your Mom. I will be thinking of your entire family! Let us know if there is anything we can do!

Tia- Congrats on the stroller purchase! You are going to love your Mac! We chose the Techno because of the adjustable handles since DH is so tall, but the Quest looks great too!

Jen- I am sorry about the mortgage. I did mortgages for 7 years before becoming a SAHM, so if you need any help or need any questions answered, please feel free to PM me. I know how hard this time is! :grouphug:

To everyone else

Oh man, that all sounds SOO good! You all are making me so hungry this morning!! I do have to ask though...what is pink cement?

Pink Cement was originally called something like pink fluff or Cherry parfait. However when my brother was about 4 to 7 years old we had it for a holiday or party or something. We had it at least once before. He asked for the pink cement. It could be he called it this because it is very thick and about the consistency of cement. Why he called it this we really don't know but the name has stuck ever since. He is 22 months younger than me so it has been this name for years in our family.

I should ask my Mom if she can more closely pinpoint when it was officially dubbed Pink Cement. I think it would make a cute scrapbook page with the recipe and story of how it got its name.

Pink Cement

1- 8oz cool whip
1- can Sweetened condensed milk
1- can cherry pie filling
1- can crushed pineapple
Mini marshmallows

Dump everything together in a bowl and stir. It is very easy to make. As for how many marshmallows, add until you think it looks right. Refrigerate overnight, so the flavors blend together.

Below is a picture, for some reason it turned kind of purplish this batch. The coloring comes from the cherry pie filling so it varies depending on the pie filling. My family typically serves it in a bowl just the way it is, but sometimes we will make it into a pie by putting it into a graham cracker crust.

Let me know if you have any questions.

I was lucky enough to spend the afternoon with my friends Amy & Julie at the Museum center - celebrating Carli's birthday! We had so much fun - even if Nick decided to explore on his own a few times!! :teeth:

As we walk into the Children's area - what was the first thing we saw?!? (Julia took the picture so it is not the best quality)
