What diabetes indicator? Is that something that do when you are pregnant now? I don't remember any orange drink when I was pregnant for either of my girls.
It tests for gestational diabetes, and comes in many disgusting flavors. :crazy2:

I think you should table your decision for one month and see how you feel about it then

You have gone back and forth and there are pros and cons to each side - so I say wait and see how you feel about it in one month and do what is best for your family!!!!

Y'all are so good for me! Keep me focused and calm. I will keep both for a while (at least until June when AirTran releases its Dec rates). Then if I switch I can pay the money to modify the tickets. If the rates are too high, I can claim it on the insurance and get my money back, and we'll drive.

Kristine -

if you are going to be in the parks for more than 10 days this year - you want an AP -

APs cost the same as a 10 day park hopper

I started kindergarten in 1969.

Beth

I think I started Kindergarten in 1968, graduated high school in 1981. But I must say that I saw all the same movies and listened to a lot of the same music, but not in high school I guess.

I go to bed and go to work, and I have over 40 pages to catch up on! You were a very chatty group last night!!

BTW - I called to see if there were any AP rates available. There isn't. We are all stuck with each other!!!!

Tammi -

when did you add your 8th day onto the tickets?

Does anyone know how long you have to add more days?

If I buy a 4 day park hopper now but then go in January - as long as I have days left on the pass can I add the other days?

However, you missed some of "my" movies. Grease and Star Wars (the original). They both came out when I was in high school. Star Wars was awesome. I don't think anyone that wasn't a teen when it came out could truly understand it's impact. It was so different than anything before. So real!!!

We graduated HS the same year (79) but can you believe I watched Star Wars for the first time a few weeks ago? I rode the ride at MGM for the first time in Aug. Poor Joe HATED it. I took Lizzy on in Oct and she LOVED it. So I finally watched the first movie a few weeks ago. I need to watch it again (when the kids are asleep so I can really pay attention to it) and the others.

I was going to read the other replies to you first so I wouldn't repeat, but this did it for me. I understand your feelings completely because I can tell we're a lot alike. But if you feel that the trip is that important then sometimes you have to forget about what others might think, as hard as that will be. You and John are his parents and if you feel he's better off going in the fall, then use the letter you're getting from (the therapist? - I forgot who it was) and do it. Make peace with your decision.

If you think you can't make peace, then what is it about the fall trip that would be better? Is it solely because that time of year would be better for Rees? Is it all the money you'd save with free dining? Is it missing MNSSHP? Sometimes the money saved isn't worth the worry, guilt and anxiety it might cause. Could you adjust your airline tickets and head down for the weekend and do MNSSHP? That way you soak up some of the Halloween atmosphere and free dining, but they won't miss much school. Then take your December trip?

I honestly wish I could be more help. I know we all do, but :grouphug:

I like how you think, Dawn. Two trips! Now that would be cool. Don't think I can get DH on board for that, but it would be fun.

Sept Pros: less crowds, free dining (saving $250 over Dec), MNSSHP, warm enough to swim
Sept Cons: HOT and HUMID! Missing 5 days of school, Rees having a hard time adjusting afterwards and possibly getting sick again, school system going ape on me

Dec Pros: Christmas! No missed school, cooler weather, MVMCP, can stay a day longer, long break after so if anyone is sick not a problem, can drive if we need to
Dec Cons: crowds are much bigger, may be cold, I'll miss 3 days of work (not a big deal), $250 more (unless I change to non-concierge), no swimming

On our 7th day. We had a late flight and wanted to track a few characters that we hadn't found yet, so for $10 for the 4 of us, it was a no-brainer.

That is correct. You cannot get a package with dining (free or paid) and also get an AP discount on the room.

I already purchased my AP voucher at the Disney Store to use for my two May trips and a family Aug trip. I still have DDE that purchased and used for last Aug & Oct. I don't think I'm going to even try free dining. I'm not sure where I want to stay yet in Aug or if I want to think about buying into DVC (can I buy and book a stay for Aug or am I too late already?). I also like the "terms" on a room only better than a package. For room only you pay a 1 night deposit and balance at check in. You can cancel up to 5 days out. With a package you pay in full at 45 days out and pay a penalty for any cancelation after 45 days.

Julie-you may want to consider an AP discount on the room vs the dining package if Disney doesn't come out with some sort of deal for Dec or do you have air as part of that package? You can purchase a Disney Dining Experience membership for $60 that gives you 20% discount off most table service including alcohol. It even good at CS at AK and value resorts that have no TS. Membership is good for a year from purchase (NOT activation like AP).

Hope I didn't just make things more confusing....

Ok, you keep coming up with more questions for me. Can I get the DDE membership for $60 just for myself and get the 20% discount for my entire family if they eat with me or does the 20% only apply to myself?

Apparantly all my "charm" ;) worked out after all! (Just not for a free dining trip in the fall!) DH felt bad about having to turn it down after all so this was my "consolation" prize. :rotfl2:

I would post a real picture of it on my driveway, but it is starting to drizzle and I don't want to get it wet  It is silver like this picture, though.

Oooh! That's pretty! Does it have 2 or 3 rows in it?

It is for up to 10 people eating with you! If you have a lot of people it is a GREAT deal!!

Wow! You have waited almost waited 30 years to watch Star Wars??!! Cool that we graduated the same year. Now I know someone from my era!

2. Has anyone taken a permanent method of birth control (or are thinking about this now? I'm struggling with this right now. (Feel free to PM me if you prefer, and sorry if it's TMI for some).

I had a tubal ligation during my c-section.

maybe we are just old now!!

DH and I went and saw that movie with Jennifer Love Hewitt in it and she was graduating and the guy wanted to tell her he loved her at the graduation party - did anyone else see it?

we loved it b/c it had that classic feel about it but we definately raised the median age!!

I loved - Can't buy me love and Ferris Bueller

and of course - no self respecting girl who graduated from HS in 1990 can't quote Dirty Dancing word for word!!!!

I love them all. I think that one with JLH was Can't Hardly Wait. I saw it too (1994 grad) and agree that's about as close as recent movies have come to the great high school movies of the 80s.

Denise, prayers for you all.

How has the medicaid battle been going? Are you getting anywhere with that?

No, still waiting for our court date.

I took mine out "off peak" times & it was great..now that my oldest will be in 5th grade this fall the party is over! I have to go in the summer or school breaks now so thats why we are going the very last week of August (they go back in Ny after Labor Day) I am glad we went to Disney so many times off season because it made the trips so much more enjoyable.

I went last year the last week of Aug (for 3 nights) and really enjoyed it. The parks were empty (especially if you got there at opening). I plan on going the last week of Aug again this year. Our schools start after labor day but I know lots of Massachusetts schools that start before labor day now. DD's school was very good about her missing school her K year and again 1st grade this year. But she missed 6 days for our Oct trip and then came back sick and I'm taking her again (with teacher's OK) for her birthday and she'll miss 3 more. She'll only be in 2nd grade next year but I just think it will be best if we try not to miss too much school. By going in Aug I'll feel freer to take her again for her birthday if I can get a good deal. It was hot last year but I didn't think it was much worse than Oct and the lack of crowds at the parks made up for it. Just be prepared for daily rain showers. Maybe we'll see you there if you don't mind meeting an old lady. :teeth:
