Yes, you are correct. Rees got very sick at the end of our trip due to too much stress on his little body. I talked to his therapists and Pediatrician about it today, and they all said December is the best for him. Also, Rees is refluxing again (he had HORRIBLE GERD as a small child and was hospitalized for months at a time, was on feeding tubes, didn't eat anything orally, had to have a major surgery called a Nissen Fundoplication). Well, the Ped is sending us to the GI doc in 2 weeks cause he thinks the Fundo has loosened up. That surgery is MAJOR, MAJOR, MAJOR. Rees was in the hospital for a week and 2 weeks recovery at home. It would require him to get a feeding tube again.

Also he had surgery on his foot 15 months ago for a tendon release, and it is tight again. So that is definitely one major surgery and likely 2 within this year. He already misses so much school for being sick legitimately, that I can't afford for him to miss 5 days of school.

So good news is, I get to see you and Marti/Hunka/Matt at Disney~ That's a great reason to celebrate. Looks like we'll go Dec 15-22 or 23. My only problem now is the plane tickets.

Denise, I'm glad that you made your decision. It definitely sounds like the right one for your family!

I am so sorry to hear about Rees' impending surgery (or surgeries). :wizard: for all of you.

My favorite movie of all time is The Cutting Edge. They just made a TV sequal starring Christy Carlson Romano and I can't bring myself to watch it..
"Doug, Douglas, you silly thing. Please don't think!" "Toepic!"

My roommate in college used to watch that ALL of the time. I watched the sequal a few weeks ago. It wasn't too bad. I didn't like how it was essentially the same story over again though. I did think it was an interesting take that she was the daughter of the original couple.

I do have some things that we do. I can post them here, or I can PM you if you want. Are you looking for religious or secular activities? I love to share what we do.

If you haven't already done so, POST them PLEASE! Or you can PM me. :sunny: I'm open to both religious and secular ideas. You always have such great ones!

Post them please, so we all can see.

Ok, Rees and BK are on Augmentin. BK's temp was over 104 at the doctor's office. She is really sick with ears, sinus, etc infections. What a fun week this has been. Hopefully they'll perk up soon. John and I are supposed to go out to a nice dinner and to the Symphony on Sat to celebrate our 11th wedding anniversary. Thanks for all the good thoughts, prayers, and notes of encouragement.

Looks like I may be in a roller coaster again with Rees. Poor kid. He never ever ever ever ever gets a break.

Not a "classic" but we also love 10 Things I Hate About You.

Me too! I love Julia Stiles and Heath Ledger so this had me from the start. Hmmm...I wonder if I have this on DVD or just my useless VHSes? (Okay, I'm wondering how much worse it is that I am admitting to loving these movies in the light of day. At least you girls can all blame it on late night dilerium.

Are you serious, that would have been wondeful!!!

Although, I really didn't mind the orange too much either!!!
Yep...it tasted like alot of sugar, at little bit of water, and a splash of coke syrup.

I really got to run home now but wanted to send hugs out to Denise and Paula (I think your MIL is in MAJOR denial!). :grouphug: :grouphug:

This has been just a horrible winter for you all. Maybe after spring finally decides to stick around, you all can be healthy again. Prayers and :wizard: .

Has there been a typical pattern of when AP discounts are available? I guess I am wondering of Dec. 1-10 is going to work??

You are very wise to be so young. And be careful about those cabbage patches... sometimes they have a "Three for One Sale"!

Well I kind of like the 2-for-1 package, but 3 would be triple the fun, no? :goodvibes

I went last year the last week of Aug (for 3 nights) and really enjoyed it. The parks were empty (especially if you got there at opening). I plan on going the last week of Aug again this year. Our schools start after labor day but I know lots of Massachusetts schools that start before labor day now. DD's school was very good about her missing school her K year and again 1st grade this year. But she missed 6 days for our Oct trip and then came back sick and I'm taking her again (with teacher's OK) for her birthday and she'll miss 3 more. She'll only be in 2nd grade next year but I just think it will be best if we try not to miss too much school. By going in Aug I'll feel freer to take her again for her birthday if I can get a good deal. It was hot last year but I didn't think it was much worse than Oct and the lack of crowds at the parks made up for it. Just be prepared for daily rain showers. Maybe we'll see you there if you don't mind meeting an old lady. :teeth:

What dates are you going in August? I would have liked to go the very last week, but ds is missing some cross-country practice even with our slightly earlier dates. And we have to be there for dd's actual birthday (according to her). We'll be there 8/12-8/26.

Ok..to catch up:

Kristine: LovesDumbo summed it up for you good. :-) Can't double discount. My DBF's family also does the egg crack. Except you get bragging rights for a year. Once we got his Dad good with a raw egg. :lmao:

Tammy: I'm a TA with AAA.

Cinderumbrella: (Sorry, I don't know your name! I'm gonna have to start a cheat sheet!) Do you have room to leave the crib up after you set up his new bed? That helped my friends son for the first week.

Kate: If you're on a package, you can add tickets up until the day of departure. I've never had any clients add any days once they get their in case they might charge more money for them (sometimes Disney offers tickets cheaper before you go so that's the reasoning behind that.)

Now my new question! How do I stop emails coming to my inbox when everyone posts here?? I came home from work and had 93 emails in my inbox!

Risky Business, Top Gun, Back to the Future, the Outsiders, Flashdance, Trading Places, Red Dawn, Return of the Jedi, Ghostbusters, Karate Kid, Indiana Jones, Footloose, DH's alltime fave A Christmas Story, Terminator, St Elmos Fire, Pretty in Pink, Breakfast Club, Ferris Beuller, Dirty Dancing, Lost Boys, Fatal Attraction... and those are just a few of the awesome movies that I saw during my four years in HS (83-87). The 80's were the BEST!!!!!!!!

You just listed half of my Christmas presents last year! But The Outsiders...that wins hands down. I can still recite that movie to this day.

Y'all are so good for me! Keep me focused and calm. I will keep both for a while (at least until June when AirTran releases its Dec rates). Then if I switch I can pay the money to modify the tickets. If the rates are too high, I can claim it on the insurance and get my money back, and we'll drive.

Is your September airfare through them? I know what their policy states, but it couldn't hurt to ask them to change you with no penalty. We have done that with both of our trips. Granted, both times they messed up -- but it was actually very minor mistakes, and they made HUGE changes for us.

I would actually, in this case, suggest emailing them via the contact us link. The lady (at least I've been in contact with the same lady multiple times) that responds to that is quite friendly, and the worst she could do is actually charge you the change fee and you are already expecting that, no?

Good luck with whatever you decide, but please give it a shot! :wizard:

I remember seeing a history of discounts on mousesavers. Let me see if I can find it.

Denise;

:wizard: Hopefully everybody feels better really soon!!! Poor babies!!! I hate it when my kids are sick, but sometimes I enjoy just holding them and snuggling w/ them when they are, because it doesn't happen all that often when they are not sick!!!!

I can totally relate to your stress!!! Some days I feel like saying why me, I can't handle all of this!!! Most days though I just appreciate all of the joy that Kyle has brought into my life and see what he goes through on a daily basis and it puts things into perspective!!! I know Rees' problems are much more stressful than Kyle's and it sounds like you have a ton on your plate everyday. But just remember that God gives you no more than you can handle, and it sounds like you can handle a lot!!! We are always here for you and I know I speak for everyone when I say that you are one TERRIFIC MOM!!!

I am now stepping off of my soap box!!!Sorry!!!

I think that you have made the best decision in the long run, but like others have said, wait a few days to cancel the ressie!!!

Take Care & I Hope Everybody Gets Well Soon!!!

Julie :)
