Whan I was pregnant with Jacob and the time was coming for the diabetes test I was cringing inside. I hated drinking that orange stuff with Katie. Yuck! When I called to set up the appointment, and to make a time to pick up my orange drink, the nurse told me that if I wanted I could eat a king size Snickers bar instead and it would give the same results. I thought she was kidding, but she put the doctor on and she told me the same thing. Well, gee, let's compare the two: nasty orange drink on one hand, or king size Snickers on the other hand... is there really a question here? I was so happy! Unfortunately, with the twins, they decided the orange drink was a better indicator than the Snickers. So sad!

That would be awesome! And now I want a snickers!!! :teeth:

Well, my fondness for Shaun was before my file folder days. The file folders came to be during the late 80's (I graduated from high school in 1990), so my folders included: Ricky Schroder, Rob Lowe, Tom Cruise, C. Thomas Howell, Ralph Macchio, Emilio Estevez, etc. :teeth:

Amy :)

At least you have great taste in men!

Well, it's the least I can do, since apparently you're going on the DDA trip, and I'm not!!!! :rotfl2:

Amy :)

Well just have to go to Chick-Fil-A, the Zoo, etc while they're gone. You know, make them jealous!

(Who am I kidding? While it would be fun, it would be MORE fun for both of us to be there with them at WDW! :sad2: )

That's the spirit...we'll show them! Cincinnati can be just as fun at WDW!!! ;) :teeth:

Amy :)

So I am totally confused...I spent 10 minutes talking to a CM about this whole AP thing...

She said...if you have an AP...yes you can buy a base ticket, upgrade the ticket and then add the dining plan, but you DO NOT (she says) get an AP rate for the room. you get whatever the going rate is. something about no double discount

or you get the AP rate and buy the DDE card (20%)

does this make sense? is she right?

:confused3 :confused3

Very nice :thumbsup2

Yes, I married my very own Prince Charming.

And he's going to be so proud of how much I got accomplished during Alyssa's nap today! ;)

I'll see you all later tonight!
Amy :)

I have 2 OT questions:

1. What are some Easter activities/traditions you do with your kids besides egg decorating and hunting? Glynis, I'm putting you on the spot because I know you'll have something ;)

2. Has anyone taken a permanent method of birth control (or are thinking about this now? I'm struggling with this right now. (Feel free to PM me if you prefer, and sorry if it's TMI for some).

(See what happens when you do this for a living?!?)
What exactly is it that you do for a living?

Sorry if this has already been covered. It's hard reading 40 pages at a time.

Whew- finally caught up!!! I was so confused as to how there were 1000 posts in 2 days until I got to last night's 80's revival posting party!! I must have been on the same wavelength subconsciously (sp?) since I bought DH the Beastie Boy "License to Ill" CD this AM :rotfl2:

I didn't take notes, but here is what I remember

Kristine: Love the tye die!!! I'll lend you my "marthaumbrella" title for those! You did great!

Jen- Congrats on the new job!!!!!!!

Denise- I am so sorry you are confused again about the trip timing. Do what's best for your family, but also for your conscience. It's a vacation and is supposed to be fun- not stressful. :grouphug: Good luck!

Kate: Glad your knee is going to be on the road to recovery. You did the right thing having it looked at. I'm sure it will be as good as new in no time!!

Amy- Loved all the pictures from the party and the trip!! Congrats on the new house! Thanks for the cookie pics- I definitely intend to try out the recipe soon! Never heard of the fondant, though, I always make royal icing so I may need to try this out.

Lindsay- :grouphug: It's no fun when things at work are rough. :wizard: to a fast resolution!

Clare- :Pinkbounc Glad the lurgy is gone!!!

As for me, thanks for all the kind words about my new car. I am still in a little bit of shock over it myself. DH definitely get the DH of the day award!!
Kyle's phrase of the day "I love Mommy's new 'finiti!"

Also, we got the call that Kyle's big boy furniture is coming on Saturday  Any words of advice to get through this transition? He knows its coming and we have told him that it means the crib goes bye-bye, but I am not sure if he completely gets it.

Have a great day!!

Aha! Emilio Estevez! I had a HUGE crush on him when I was younger, and got so much crap for it. I thought for sure I couldn't be alone!

Thanks for all of your help!!! I really appreciate it!!!

I just want to clarify that I don't have the "Free" dining, I don't think it was available for December, or was it???

Sorry - I think I thought you had changed your trip! My bad. :goodvibes

That doesn't change the scenario, though.

Seriously, I had over 50 folders...of course there was one for him too!

I'd also like to state that most of the actors I had a crush on, matured into very good-looking 30 and 40-year-olds. Matt Dillon is finer than ever!!!!

Amy :)

I must say you have good taste!

We watched Crash recently, and while the movie wasn't my favorite (nor was his character, by ANY means), he is a cutie! ::yes:: I don't think I had seen him in anything else.

Easter Egg Challenge
each year I buy a prize...usually a giant chocolate egg or some other trophy type thing. Anyway, everyone takes a dyed egg...(you can do this in several ways) we usally work to the right...you challenge the person next to you...each of you hits the bottom of your eggs together...only one will crack...that person is out. You keep working around until only one intact egg is left. It's a TON of fun...very funny...anyone can play....everyone loves it. Hope my description makes sense.

You'll see I posted this later, but I'm sure you're looking for something newer and bigger. But, you are welcome to come over, anytime! Especially now that I've recovered from Disney and Alyssa's party!

Amy :)

ETA: But now that I think about it, we do have a Disney-themed basement and nursery... ;) :teeth:

I did get to that post. In actuality, if we do go with something newer we probably won't be in that area. But if not, I'll keep you guys in mind for sure! Although I hope for your sake you sell it quicker than we will probably make up our minds! :rotfl:

ETA: i'm holding you to it though, that we'll get together! Between the two of us we have stayed plenty busy.... but now I have tons of free time (or will soon anyway) so you aren't getting off the hook! ;)

I had forgotten that she had the May trip first. Makes sense. Thanks for explaining in layman's terms. I think I actually understand it now.

One last question, if you buy your AP ticket in advance to spread out the cost of the expense, when is it effective? I believe the answer is it starts the first time you use it. If that is correct, the real question then becomes, can I still log on the passholder webiste to check out the deals beforehand? I would like to buy one soon but not use it until December (but I don't want to waste the time on it because I'm hoping to use it in Dec., Mar. & Oct.). Is this possible?

Yes, you're right - the AP does not go into effect until you "activate" it. If you purchase via phone or internet, they will send you a voucher that you must exchange for the actual pass once you get to WDW, and your 366 days start from that day.

I'm pretty positive that you can log onto the passholder website beforehand with just your voucher #, as there is a spot to plug that information in. This ability only came about after I was already a passholder this past year, so I don't have any experience with it. But, I don't know why that functionality would be there if you couldn't do it. I know they had to make this a possibility in the days of the AP Best Rate Plan, because the only way passholders could book rooms was online.

Becky - I am SO JEALOUS of you!!! Back to Magic Cruises - at first I thought you meant Wonder and then I realized you meant 14 days of cruising!!

That will be awesome and think of how many t-shirts you will need!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Becky, I missed your new sig. WOW!! What fun!!

On another note - what the heck were you all doing last night! 40+ pages from when I went to bed at 10 last night and now! Good grief!

Yes, the CM told you right. You cannot get an AP rate on a room if you're booking a package. The way to get any dining discount using your AP (other than the 10% here or there for lunches) is to become a member of the Disney Dining Experience - you then get a card that entitles you to 20% your bill (drinks of any kind included) at just about all TS restaurants in the World, and food courts at the values/some of the moderates (where there's not a TS restaurant).

Hope this helps!
