Kate - I've been in late August twice recently (I'm also a late August b-day). If you can prepare yourself for the heat, I've never thought the crowds were that bad - a lot of schools have already begun to go back. It's just that heat and humidity that are hard - and I grew up in Houston - I know my heat! You just forget that you begin sweating the moment you step outside, you have no appetite, etc.

Hey, with that no appetite issue - that will make free dining quite a deal for WDW! :rotfl2:

We went for our honeymoon for the last 2 weeks of August and I didn't think it was bad. The crowds were low since so many kids were already back in school and I am from Chicago- I know all about 75 degree dew points and 100 degree heat indices!!!

I was over on the scrapping board earlier and the tag fairy has been visiting. I think she needs to high tail it over here and check out what we've been up too! ;)

I'm one of those southern natives that can't stand the heat. I never forget that my clothes are completely soaked just walking to my mailbox.
Sorry to be a downer, I just can't take this southern heat and humidity and I've lived here my whole life. I am such a fool! I'll be 8 and 9 months pregnant during July and August :(. What was I thinking???

We party procrastinators are still up...even though it looks like you all went to bed!

I still have to clean, and I have some cooking to do tomorrow morning. After that, I'm off to a bridal shower for an hour or so, and then to the church to decorate.

Wish us luck! And keep your fingers crossed that the fact Alyssa threw up tonight has more to do with too much milk, excitement, and ice cream, than the lurgy invading our home! :wizard:

Happy Anniversary Denise! :wizard: to anyone who has the lurgy! Nice to see you posting tonight Dawn! :teeth:

I'm sure Kate and Julie will give you all party updates tomorrow night...I probably won't be back until my family leaves Sunday. Have a great weekend everyone! :goodvibes

Amy :)

Thank you Claire for passing the lurgy onto me. :rotfl2: I think I have a sinus infection as my face feels like someone is standing on it. I can hardly talk and I am sneezing my head off and my nose is running away, plus my teeth and jaw hurt and I am now Dissing from bed and freezing cold.

My manager was so nice about me not feeling well today she told me if I still feel crappy tomorrow I am to call her and she will work all day. The thought is O, so nice except, I must be at my other job at 6am before that one at 8:30am.

Becky

Oh No! Hope you feel better Becky - and you really should stay in bed and sleep - so not go to either job.

Here's some :wizard: that you feel better real soon :grouphug:

I finally finished the 6 t-shirts that I was making for the bowling tournament. It seemed to take forever, but I did go to work in between. Now I need to go check out the pricing for the new code. Chris has been dying to go and I keep saying noooooo, but now, maybe I'll have to give in. :teeth:

Deb

Hang on a minute - did you just see DH is dying to go to Disney and you keep putting him off???? There are ladies "charming" their hubbies across America at this point - maybe you should do "wife swap" for a week :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

I feel kinda guilty and bad...and please don't yell at me...but I just don't get that hung up anymore about my kids missing school. They grow up so quickly...and god willing, while all of us are still healthy I am going to do the things with my family that we want to do...and if that means missing a week of of school every now and again...so be it. I will say that we are lucky to have a very supportive school district who does not give families who pull their kids a hard time. I can see how that would be tough.

I missed school for holidays when I was a kid - and even changed school quite a few times because Dad was in the army - never did me any harm. Of course it depends on your school and their attitude to missing but if you're kids are bright - and you're willing to put in the effort to help them keep up then why not pull them out for a week?

You could always speak to the teacher about what they'd be missing and then do some disney related projects - there are things you can do that are education related while sitting waiting for shows / standing in lines for rides / then they could write a trip report or make a scrapbook too.

Good luck with the party Kevin & Amy - Happy Birthday Alyssa!

Hi, all. There's a new package deal with free dining! It is open to the public on 4/4. Disney Visa cardmembers can book 4/1-4/3. End travel date is 9/30. I just booked for 9/23 to 9/30 and still got the CR Concierge. Just emailed concierge my ADR requests. I've been busy the past few hours!

So, now we are going to MNSSHP on 9/29. So I'll need costume ideas from everyone!

No way!! Too cool! Do you have to end by 9/30 or start by 9/30? We are supposed to arrive the 30th, but I may have to change for this. I'm off to do some research!

BTW - As long as I am replying to you....

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY DENISE AND JOHN!!

We've got both still booked and will decide this weekend, but I think we're leaning towards Sept. Biggest issue is the kids missing 5 days of kindergarten, but it's KINDERGARTEN (not High School). We'd get to do the MNSSHP, save money, easier to pack (it'll be hot and rain), and airfare is MUCH cheaper ($130 per person cheaper).

And maybe we can meet in passing at the airport! Hmmm...maybe we'll just have to come in on Friday for the party or to meet your for breakfast at Chef Mickey's on Saturday since you're staying there anyway.

ETA: I see you are planning to eat at CM on Sat...too bad I don't know if we'll be able to arrive on Friday since it is month end and that means crazy at work.
