EXCELLENT POST PAULA!!!!!!!

(on the autograph thread)

I just got here from reading it - and thought the exact same thing - excellent post Paula!

I'm gonna keep that thread live just to see if anyone else comes on trying to kill our pixie dust... I don't know... Mickey Mouse is just a college kid?? Cinderella is a waitress?? What is the world coming to? Can you please tell me why these people go to WDW? They've obviously mistaken it for UNiversal Studios :rolleyes1:

I can't remember - I think that maybe I just wrote reckon... I confess I'm  fill me in please

I thought it was cute that you used it. When I hear that word, I associated it as more of a thing used in the U.S. in the South, like fixin, reckon, big ole etc. So since we are teaching you Americanisms and you teach us Englishisms I wanted to know if reckon is a word that is normally heard over in England, or if you were teasing us Southerners by using one of the words we had taught you.

I agree. That definitely cinched it for me. If Walt says it, then it is so. I forgot that it was Walt himself that felt this way. Thanks for reminding me so that I can stop worrying about it and just do what I want!

I just stumbled on this thread about adults getting photos/autographs with the characters. As of now, it's all been positive! Maybe this will help you feel more comfortable.

I have heard of the Sears Roebuck catalog tp issue....that's where the saying "going into my reading room" comes from. I am a bit embarrassed to admit it but I know this from personal experience. And don't ever use newspaper.....that stuff runs!!
I loved getting milk delivered in England......it is actually the only milk I enjoyed drinking ever, ever in my long legged life. There are two companies here in Denver area that deliver....it's just not the same. One of my grandpa's first jobs was delivering ice for ice boxes.

Sorry! Alyssa got into all the DVDs and she was screaming at me to put the Blues Clues one in. I couldn't really hear you either, so I'm assuming we both said "bye!" :teeth:

By the way, my daughter's latest thing is to call me "Amy" when she really wants my attention. I have no idea where she picked this up, because I rarely hear anyone, including Kevin, use my name. Has anyone else's toddler gone through this stage?

Amy :)

Yes -- I think it happens pretty often. My kids don't do that to me or my DH, but Jake, my DS7 calls his brother DS10, "Brother," not Andrew. Jake also attempts to call me Missy, when he thinks he can get away with it....

5. What did you have for breakfast? – oatmeal, yogurt, dried cranberries and coffee

27. Any new and exciting news you'd like to share with your family and friends? - I have lost 30 pounds
I'm coming to your house for breakfast, and congratulations on the weight loss. That is excellent!

oops I just realized I used your DDs name instead of yours.
Houston Astros.

No problem! I didn't even notice until later.

The Astros, huh? Does that mean I'm in trouble with my old Cardinal loyalties?

I've got to run for a while. I need to give Colby his nap and I'm washing T-shirts that I'm adding transfers to tonight. Nick and Hunter are bowling in the State Bowling tournament on Saturday and Sunday so I had to make shirts for the whole family. They are pretty psyched.

Later
Deb

Good luck to Nick and Hunter! :cheer2:

:rotfl: I just found the exact same thread - and pointed it out to all the cynical people on the thread that Vicki found! Funny how autograph books and adults interacting with characters seems to be the hot topic of the day :goodvibes

her post about Cinderella being their waitress make me mad :furious:

That girl was WRONG to tell her kids that - maybe that is her problem!!! A CM ruined the magic for her!!

Well I just made an appt for Alyssa at the allergist. But it isn't for 3 weeks! The receptionist said that they do one scratch test on children, on the arm, and the biggest complaint that they get is the itchiness it causes for about 20 minutes. I was thinking that they would do the grid thing on the back with all the different pricks, like they do for adults. I hope it is as easy as she made it sound.

I just made my doctor's appointment for Monday the 13th - let's hope it is nothing major!!

I know that is a bit off - but then she says "cinderella" told the boys as a secret - obviously not very good at keeping it were they? Why spread that kind of stuff around like you're so clever to know it? Sounds like the kind of family that never believed in Santa...

Just outside of Bedford. All my mother's family lives in that general area. My older sis and I were born in that area as well.

Beautiful area, Paula. We drive through it every time we go back to visit our parents.

Kate - I'm going to swing by Payless on my way home today. Do you want me to pick up a pair of the crocs for Julia if they have an 11?
