Matthew and I will go swimming with you,we have been 4 times on this years AP, we can afford some down time...

That's true love - he even rescues me on a message board!!

Does anyone know about allergy testing for little kids? Poor Alyssa has been coughing for about the past hour. Cough medicine hasn't kicked in yet. I just know she has allergies like I do....same symptoms, same time of year (pollen), etc. But I hate to have her tested because the only way I know that they do it is by the pricks on the back. Do they do it the same way for little ones or can they do it by other means?

Amy - you were my secret weapon against going commando - and now I have no weapon!!!
you just have to say I don't want to do that -

to me being in the parks is not commando - it is trying to everything once you are in that kills me!! I would be up the hours the parks are open - why not be in them?!?!?

But I also like to walk and just look at things - I was in WDW during the Flower and Garden show and didn't have time to look at things - I really want to enjoy it this year

My thoughts exactly.....bathing suits.....:scared1:

But sure, I'll be up for a swim. I have yet to get in a Disney pool. Seems we are always there in December and I make DH go in with the kids. :teeth: :cold:

I'm the whitest woman in America - I would love to come back with some color!

Tammi -

I would be shocked if they would even test her at this age -

when I was in this week they told me that Julia's sinuses were grey - which means she has allergies and once she finishes her antibiotics to start her on a nasal spray -

they say she is too young to test

I bet I've got you beat.

I'm going to have to break out my 'tan in a bottle' in a few weeks before I put shorts on.

We had to have Matt tested - and yes - it is the way you are thinking. I'd rather have my eyes poked out repeatedly than to have to go through that again.

Geez...I am faced with such decisions...swimming, shopping? shopping, swimming? what's a girl to do??

I hate to admit this...but as soon as my feet hit the property...I am off & shopping! :rotfl:

I think I'm going to call my allergist tomorrow and see what he says. I've just been treating her with OTC stuff but if I can get a prescription that would work better I would prefer to do that. What I'm giving her doesn't do a whole lot. I've been putting it off because I know of so many kids that have been put on allergy shots, and I'm afraid to hear that. But I suppose that is only in severe cases, right?

Just knowing that we aren't chasing after our children will allow us to smell the roses!

How were the Walmart Dole Whip knock-offs?

I've had such a crappy night that we haven't had them. My stomach is all in knots, so if I had the acid tonight it could be ugly. So we're going to have them tomorrow. I'm having some ginger ale now.

Marti, in 10 trips to the world, I've never had a Dole whip, either. Look how many you'll have to have for everyone on here who hasn't had one. I've never had Chik-Fil-A, either. They have it in VA and I guess I could try it when I go down this summer for a week. I won't have time when I go to visit my son in two weeks. The firm would not let me have the extra day, so I leave at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, drive halfway and then continue on Friday. Then I will have to turn around and come back on Easter Sunday! 450 miles each way. I'm bringing food with me so I don't have to spend too much time in the kitchen or at the grocery store. Besides, my son doesn't have a stove! He has a microwave, a hot plate and a crockpot. When he moved in the house it had a stove, but it was placed in a very awkward spot. You couldn't open the cabinet that it was next to. Being a single guy, he decided the cabinet space was more important than a stove. So I get to cook chicken and gravy, mashed potatoes, fresh green beans and baby carrots on Saturday in two crockpots. Beans and carrots in the am, then nuke at dinnertime, and chicken and potatoes pm. The day after I leave is his birthday, so his friends are coming over for dinner on Saturday, and bringing a cake. It will be a quick visit, but a nice one.

My pediatrician has given both of my kids prescriptions for Zyrtec w/out testing them.

Does it work for them? Any side effects?

It does seem to work, I always have it on hand but only use it a few times a year. I think it may make them a little drowsy at first but after taking it for a day or two I don't notice any....
