But I thought you got the dining plan for the amount of days on your ticket? Or is it the amount of days you have the room? That sounds more like it. Does everyone have to purchase the same amount of days on their ticket?

BTW this is a very good explaination.

The you get credits for each night of your stay. Doing an 8 night 9 day package? Everyone get's 8 TC, 8 snacks and 8 CS to use throughout your stay. Everyone has to buy the same amount of days on their ticket.

Just in case anyone would like to know the value of a day ticket at Disney, there is only a difference of:
$3 between a 5 and 6 day ticket
$2 between a 6 and 7, 7 and 8, 8 and 9 and 9 and 10 day ticket. (Pheww!)

(See what happens when you do this for a living?!?)

Julie, who are you going to tell?!! You don't even know where I went to high school! :lmao:

Kristin, awesome new car! :thumbsup2

Lindsay, of course, I drink them with milk! But your comment "eat a few" has me confused. Does 10 qualify as a few?!! Just kidding, I've only eaten two so far. :teeth:

Dawn, I'm patiently waiting for a PM or email from you about Lost!!!

Right...and there were definitely more oreos in the package than donuts! :thumbsup2

And that was an excellent description of what Julie has to do to get on the dining plan! I knew what she had to do, but I didn't know how to type it out, especially after Kate's explanation confused Kristine! :teeth:

Okay, I know I'm a little thick but let me see if I have this right!!!

I can go ahead and cancel my parkhopper tickets for December for just me, and add a one day base ticket for just me so that I can still keep the dining plan. Everybody else's tickets will stay the same if I do this and we will all have dining???? Is it based on the length of stay???

Should I just buy my AP when I get there in May or do it beforehand??? Do I need to do anything else besides making an airline ressie??? Let me know!!!!

MMMnnn... I love Golden Oreos! Definately a better pick than powdered donuts. (less evidence with golden oreos too! no powder to give away you just ate a box..)
I've never had a Golden Oreo, but now I want one. Thanks Amy

I love the white chocolate covered Oreos that come out at Christmas!

I'm pretty sure you have this right. Hopefully Chanon will chime in too.

We bought our APs at the Disney Store before we left and then activated them on our first day at WDW.

And, I'm really jealous that you're going on the DDA trip...no fair!!!! :teeth:

To get the dining plan you have to be on a package with Disney.
To be on a package with Disney you have to buy hotel and tickets together.

If you're an AP Holder and you want the dining plan, you have to buy a package with Disney which means you have to buy hotel and tickets together. "But I already have tickets!" you say? So you buy a one day base ticket to be included in the package.

You now have your AP and a one day base ticket. The base ticket doesn't expire until you use it. So you don't use it because you have your AP. And you've gotten the dining plan. Now you have a one day base ticket saved. Use it for a Christmas gift. Use it towards next year's AP cost. Store it away for your kids kids, because it doesn't expire. But the big thing is that you've gotten the dining plan now.

Wow, very well written! I even understood that. I hope they do the free dining again next year. I so want to go to MNSSHP in 2007 and this would cinch it for me!!!

Sounds to me like Tinkerbell!!!

So let me see if I am understanding you correctly - your DH's sister has really bad cancer - possibly terminal - and her mother is trying to work it into her schedule to go see her :confused3 My child would not have gotten the words "I have cancer" out of their mouths before I made it there!!

I had the hardest time not getting on a plane when my mom might have had cancer I can't imagine not going to the Dr's appt's with my kids if there was even a possibility!!

Paula you need extra sanity and :grouphug: because it sounds like you are dealing with the not so sane.

We actually have 8 elephants and lions left over from the party, and I'd rather eat Golden Oreos! I guess, I'm just a little tired of my cookies!

Kristine, a Golden Oreo is simply an oreo in a vanilla version. They also have "uh oh" Oreos that are vanilla cookies with chocolate filling.

Apparantly all my "charm" ;) worked out after all! (Just not for a free dining trip in the fall!) DH felt bad about having to turn it down after all so this was my "consolation" prize. :rotfl2:

I would post a real picture of it on my driveway, but it is starting to drizzle and I don't want to get it wet  It is silver like this picture, though.
It's beautiful!

Julie - I believe when you book a package that everyone on the package has to have the same things - the same # of nights at the resort, the same # of days on the tickets, and everyone has to either have (or not have) free dining.

So, I believe that if you get an AP, you will need to rebook (or change, however best works) everyone in your family to having one-day base MYW tickets, still with the free dining. (I know the dining credits are based on the # of nights you're staying - they don't have anything to do with the tickets.)

Then, when you check-in to your resort, you can let the CM know that you would like to upgrade the other 3 members of your families 1-day base tickets to tickets for your length of stay (however many days/features you need). As Chanon said, you will still have YOUR 1-day base ticket. You can put it away to use later, or you know, you might even be able to apply the worth of your 1-day base tickets to the $$ balance of upgrading everyone else's tickets. (I'm not sure about that part, but don't see why you couldn't. Although since 1-day tickets are more expensive per day than the other higher-days tickets, it might be best to keep it for use down the road, or to apply to tickets another time.)

I hope this helps, and didn't confuse you more! :goodvibes

You missed it Clare...she "accused" me first...you posted the same thing a few hours later! :rotfl2:

And yes, Vicki, you should fear me! I am the world's most intimidating person, especially with a voice so high that lots of telephone solicitors ask, "Can I speak to your mom or dad?" :lmao:

Amy :)

Did I? Oh - and I usually read every post... I say usually as I just did a lot of skimming... way too much chatting going on here! My studying has gone right out of the window for the evening... to be on the safe side I may not be around much until Monday... I really have to get an assignment in by Sunday - 2000 words and I've not yet written one...

I put the cheerleaders in order when I was on yearbook staff in high school...I told my students not to do this when I was the yearbook advisor at Princeton. Does that make sense now Blondie?!! ;) :teeth:

Hey, in my book, 10 definitely qualifies as a "few"! Kind of like: I only bought a "few" pair of shoes; Let's go to WDW for a "few" days; I'll only be on the DIS a "few" minutes - you get the picture...

Fuzzy math is our friend! :teeth:
