Kristin I love the wreath,

your signature picture looks great, I don't see a blue X under it

Could I please get an honest opinion from you all....

I just got off the phone with DXH2B. We talked about Christmas. He said he was finally willing to agree (this means permanently, not just this year) that I can have the kids for the first part of Christmas day. His request, though, is that he has them Christmas Eve and brings them home around 9 PM. Then he gets them around 1 PM Christmas Day. Yes, more than anything, I want to see their faces in the morning when they come down the steps and see what Santa left. However, this will only happen for a few more years, when it just becomes presents from Mom. Now I'm thinking that with only having them from when they get up Christmas morning, maybe around 7, until 1, is ripping myself off. When do I get to have a big Christmas meal? Not Christmas Eve, not Christmas day. Would I be happy only having breakfast with them? Or should I say this is a good plan but lets swap every year? WWYD???? Help me to see the big picture.

Tammi, I can see your concerns, and hope you can work it out.

I remember when Hal's brother was going thru this, they switched years. The one who would not have them for dinner that day, did it the weekend before or after. Or did a big meal for Thanksgiving if that was their holiday to spend the whole day with the kids.
You could do a big breakfast with all the fixins.

Here is what my mom had with us (when my dad was in the country):

She had us until midmorning Christmas Day and then we went with my dad.
As a kid we were never worried about the meal just the presents...this continued until the Christmas after I got married.

It isn't about the meal but being together and continuity. I personally liked knowing that every holiday I would wake up in "my" bed and I knew I had it better than my friends who had to stop and think whose house they would wake up in that year.

I like the plan as it stands.
(Please also remember this is coming from the daughter of the man who will never win father of the year....donkey yes, father no)

really??!! interesting

What a great idea....I would check to make sure that he wouldn't get a ticket for having a car idle first though. It is illegal in CO to leave a car idling unattended.

Yes I see the family picture with the santa hats. But there is a red x under that.

Kristine, is it supposed to be a ticker? Don't you have a Christmas trip to WDW coming up?

Well since I asked just before Thanksgiving, maybe no one saw it. I have a 20% off entire order coupon for Gymboree does anyone want it?

I'm finally caught up.

Robyn - Lucy is adorable.

Becky - Loved your parasailing pictures. Now Bob wants to go. ;)

Tom - Leighanna's Santa picture is adorable. Alyssa asked for Butterscotch this year. We don't have room for a horse. :)

:grouphug: to everyone else dealing with crappy family issues.

I'm not caught up, so I'll just cheat and ditto!:goodvibes

I'm trying to add borders on my photopass pictures and it is sooooooooo slow!:surfweb:

I am sure Denise and family have been busy with the holiday, but has anyone heard an update on Rees?

they are home...the last I heard was that he was doing OK...

hoping for continued health and healing in their home!!

yesterday all 3 of us girls had a cough and stuffy nose. Virginia and In have runny noses today. I have no energy.

Kristine - Nope. No tickers. The question mark isn't clickable or anything fun - it just sits there.

Heidi - Glad your eyes are feeling better! I had mine done in March and it took awhile for them to be normal again.

Jennifer - Sorry you guys have been sick! I hope everyone feels better soon!!:wizard:
