The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

Hey DDA! I just saw my birthday thread(s) and thought I should stop by and say hello!

I do keep meaning to stop by but I've been so busy that I never seem to get a chance to - plus y'all are such chatterboxes I can't keep up

Things are quiet here at the moment - we just got back from a 10 day trip "home" we stayed at Old Key West, Vero Beach and Saratoga Springs and had a lovely relaxing time - then I came home and got sick just a virus in my respiratory system - but it meant blocked sinuses and sore throat and cough and generally feeling yucky. But I'm on the mend today

I haven't been back to work yet - but when I do I'll be wrapping up my current job and moving to a new one same bank - same office - but looking after mortgages instead of websites so a complete change which is what I need.

Erm not sure what else has been happening... anyone here want to give me a quick update on the gossip??

We don't have a Walgreens around here.

they are really cute I found the mickey ones last year at lowes. Tammi I need to mail you a package would you like me to pick some up and send them with it. I will be going to the post office in the next day or so. If I get up in the attic today I will try to take a picture of the mickey ones I have.

The 3rd Dollar Tree I stopped at had the window clings. I got 2 different Mickey sheets, a princess and a Tink sheet. If I get those Mickey lights our villa will be very festive!

The weirdest thing happened today. When we came home from swimming the radio in Princess's room was BLASTING music. It has never been on the entire time I have worked here. It certainly wasn't on when we left - I could hear it CLEARLY when we came in, and the garage door is as far from her room as you can get without going outside! It scared me to death, even though I set the alarm when we left and it was still armed when we came back. Freaky. The only thing I can think of is that the neighbors must have the same radio and their remote reaches over here. I turned it off and on a couple of times and the volume resets to a default each time, so it wasn't like the alarm clock feature went off while we were gone - it was turned up WAY louder than the default.

Every day when Princess takes her nap I close her door and the door to the hall. She slept very fitfully today, and just now when I went to get her the hall door was open. I must have forgotten to close it today, so it's no wonder she started to fuss when the mail came crashing through the mail slot. But I ALWAYS close that door. Freaky.

We got the Wii & 3 extra controllers & 3 nin-chucks (sp?) How many games did you get?

I bought the Wii, 2 extra controllers, 3 nunchucks, WiiPlay (a set of games that also includes one controller), Mario Party 8, and Rayman Raving Rabbits. I still want to pick up another game for Matthew, but I need to find a way to slyly find out which one. Or maybe I'll just make up a certificate that he can choose a game. Toys R Us had the games at buy 2, get 1 free the day that I bought the Wii.

so for Christmas I am taking some of the baby toys that Olivia had and wrapping them up for Virginia. Just need to figure out what Santa is bringing

Olivia is getting a couple of leap frog games, some play food for her kitchen, clothes, books and santa is bringing her an art easel. also got a smock and some art supplies.

Jeff is getting his 3 coupon books and 2 shirts. not sure what else.

Marci, maybe you can give me some idea of what I really need! I have worked myself into a tizzy over finding a shoe holder, and Jonathan just thinks I'm being silly. I just can't get a good idea of how much storage we will have in the bathroom of a cat. 6. I don't consider myself terribly high maintenance (I don't bring a ton of makeup, excess lotions, etc.), but I do still bring all my own products when I travel - in general, I don't like using hotel stuff, although I probably will use some of the DCL products, since I use the H20 stuff and will be trying to conserve it for 2 weeks!.

I havent been on DCL, but have been on 4 cruises..i never used a shoe holder and we have always had 3 or 4 in a cabin. i put some of my stuff on the bathroom sink counter and the stuff i dont need in the bathroom, i put on the vanity shelf outside..

Can you warm it up and scrape it off with a heat proof spatula? (Not a rubber spatula, one of those things you flip pancakes with.)

Thank goodness for the internet!!!

I googled 'how to get melted plastic off a smooth cooktop'.

So I heated it up and with a sharp knife scraped off as much as I could, let it cool and took the rest off with WD-40. EASILY! Wow. I really thought it was going to be quite a job, but now it's good as new.
