Janet,

I saw that too this morning & was going to post but you beat me to it! How cool! Now you have to buy them for the boys!:)

I just ran out to do some Christmas shopping for Daniel. He wrote this beautiful letter to Santa. He is so sweet that I wish I could buy him everything!
I got him Battleground: Crossbows & Catapults - War Chest Starter Set,
Verticon Super Sound Battle Set, & Jam Pack Jam from Cranium. This was on his list & a Wii...Santas got the Wii covered so these will come from Dana & I. They all got good online reviews, & I had a buy $75 get a $10 giftcard. So Daniel is done.....

As for Katie, last weekend I went to Abercrombie & bought a few tops & pants & a large tote for her to use for school books. Just a few things from bath & body (she loves the new peppermint fragrance)& she will be done.

Sophie I am still having a hard time with. I did get her some dress up costumes but she is asking for some stuff I won't buy. She wanted this streak & style thing that colors your hair (um no...) & a Bratz makeup doll (um no, we have enough Bratz dolls thankuverymuch!) So I am still on the lookout for her.

Have a great day.

Hey DDA! I just saw my birthday thread(s) and thought I should stop by and say hello!

I do keep meaning to stop by but I've been so busy that I never seem to get a chance to - plus y'all are such chatterboxes I can't keep up :teeth:

Things are quiet here at the moment - we just got back from a 10 day trip "home" we stayed at Old Key West, Vero Beach and Saratoga Springs and had a lovely relaxing time - then I came home and got sick  just a virus in my respiratory system - but it meant blocked sinuses and sore throat and cough and generally feeling yucky. But I'm on the mend today :)

I haven't been back to work yet - but when I do I'll be wrapping up my current job and moving to a new one :yay: same bank - same office - but looking after mortgages instead of websites so a complete change which is what I need.

Erm not sure what else has been happening... anyone here want to give me a quick update on the gossip??

:)

Lindsay -- I've seen the over-the-door shoe organizers at Wal Mart and Target and they weren't very expensive -- especially at Wal Mart. If I had one I would give it to you, but we never used them. We have always been in a category that had more surface room, so I saved the space in my bag! One thing I did take, which you won't need, is a collapsible cube to keep their night lovies, game boys etc. in. I don't think you and Jonathan will have a use for it, but I guess you could use it for a small laundry basket. It's yours if you'd like to use it.

Lindsay and Elizabeth -- I'll be so glad when the Hannah Montanna concert is over tomorrow. It's all they seem to talk about on the radio and on the news!

Marci, maybe you can give me some idea of what I really need! I have worked myself into a tizzy over finding a shoe holder, and Jonathan just thinks I'm being silly. I just can't get a good idea of how much storage we will have in the bathroom of a cat. 6. I don't consider myself terribly high maintenance (I don't bring a ton of makeup, excess lotions, etc.), but I do still bring all my own products when I travel - in general, I don't like using hotel stuff, although I probably will use some of the DCL products, since I use the H20 stuff and will be trying to conserve it for 2 weeks!

I don't think I need the storage cube, but thanks so much for offering. :goodvibes I bought us a couple of mesh laundry bags at Dollar Tree that I figured will be easy to just throw in the suitcase until we get to SSR where we can do laundry.

And yes, I'm ready for the HM stuff to be over. While I think she's a good, positive role model for little girls (my DN5 LOVES her), I don't need to hear about it constantly!

For the holiday storytellers, I just found my cards if you want me to email them to you. They are 8x8, but you could just copy the clipart from them if you wanted. It looks like I used the pictures of the storytellers from allearsnet or some other Disney planning sites.

That would be so AWESOME, Tia! I'll PM you my e-mail address, just in case you don't have the DDA list handy.

And thanks so much for thinking of me with the window clings, but I hit the mother lode yesterday and don't need any more at this point. :goodvibes I've got 6 clings total for each family (2 princesses, 2 Tinks, 2 Mickeys for one set of nieces; and then 2 Mickeys, 1 princess, 1 Tink, 1 Pooh, and 1 Cars for the other set of nieces/nephew). So, Janet can take my supply if she needs them! :thumbsup2

Good morning, DDA! Just a quick hello as time has caught up with me. I've got to go get Terra out of bed and out the door in the next 8 minutes. We're headed to the zoo to meet wendygrace and her kids! Michael was released from the hospital last night, a lot earlier than they expected. They will stay in St. Louis for the week as he has follow up appoinments. Since the weather is nice, we're going to take the kids to the zoo and let him enjoy his freedom a little today.

Catch you all later!

That is wonderful news! I hope you guys enjoy the zoo!

I am getting so excited about our Dec. trip :dance3:

I just made ADR's for breakfast at Trails End Buffet followed with Horseback riding. I was hoping to get an early slot for the horseback riding followed with breakfast, but it was booked. I think we will be ok beings it is a guided tour & goes at a slow pace. None of us ride horses, so slow is fine with me lol

I also special ordered a cake for us to have after dinner on Christmas, it is a surprise :santa: I ordered a white cake with white chocolate frosting & chocolate mousse filling, yum!

Sounds like a great morning! That cake sounds divine! Did you order it through the cake hotline, or somewhere else?

I am resisting the temptation to order Jonathan and me a cake while at the GF - I keep thinking we need to eat those concierge food offerings since we're certainly paying for them! My latest idea, though, is maybe ordering a cake from GF Private Dining our last night at the GF, and then having it when our family arrives the next day. Something to think about!

Ok I am weird, but the email I received from Disney Shopping has blankets with both Garrett & Riley's name on them. Are they personalizing email ad's now :rotfl:

That's hilarious! :rotfl:

The driver passed out - some sort of medical emergency. The truck ran up over the curb, crashed through a fence, and fell in a pool in somebody's back yard.:scared:

Yes - wasn't that horrible! :scared: Thank goodness that pool was there, though - otherwise, I'm sure that truck would have barreled right into the house! Scary.

Sounds like some productive shopping! Good luck with Sophie! I don't blame you for avoiding the hair coloring thing...:scared:

"Welcome home" (in all senses of the word), Clare! Sounds like your vacation was fabulous; sorry that you've been sick (isn't that how it always works?!). Good luck with the new job, and stop in when you can.

And,

Happy Birthday!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ordered it through the cake hotline. I thought it would be a nice surprise for my family & Gary's DB's family. Whatever is left I can take back to the room & put in the fridge. With 2 teenagers & our 2 boys I don't think it will last long lol

If Santa is bringing the Wii and Dana and You are buying games will the kids be suspicious? I think my kids would wonder how I knew what Santa was bringing as it is always a surprise to us all.

It's your birthday and we get the present  You stopped by to visit. It seems the DDA is busy with upcoming trips as well as holiday planning. We have slowed the thread down to only a few pages a day of late since we are all busy with other things. You definitely need to stop by more often.

If you do a trip report please give us the link. I love to read your trip reports :thumbsup2

Rees is having a g-tube (feeding tube inserted sugically on Friday). We were admitted from the ER Friday and will be here until Sunday. Here is the update from my care page. I'm posting on the thread on the CB too. It's been a rough time to say the least.

Hi, everyone. Today I'm better emotionally. I think the dam burst literally Sunday night and yesterday, and it feels much better to have let it all out. Rees tried smashed banana last night, and it immediately came back up. The only foods he can get down are ice cream, popsicles, pudding, and jello. We are going to try chicken broth at lunch. They are starting him on IV total nutrition in a little bit so he'll be ready for surgery and not lose weight.

I pulled Rees in the wagon yesterday for a long walk around the little garden they have here. It was beautiful outside today, and it felt great to have some fresh air. I gave him a long shower, and then I snuggled with him in bed last night. It felt good just to love up on him. I think now that I know I was right that something is wrong (they tried to send us home Friday night from the ER and said he was ok) has really made a difference. Now we know what to expect. We have a plan, and it makes it easier to deal with. And the surgeon was soooo upset to see how sick Rees is and how thin he has gotten so quickly. It helped to know how much he cares for my son too. And my mom arrives today for 2 days. I can't wait to see her. And John's parents will be here Thursday. But the best news is that John and Brantley-Kate are feeling better, and he is coming up this afternoon to visit! Boy, do Rees and I miss him, Brantley-Kate, and Davis tons.

Rees woke up hungry late last night and had a popsicle and ice cream. He watched Sleeping Beauty and sang the entire time. He finally went to sleep around 1am and woke up this morning at 11am. I've been doing some shopping for Christmas since I'm not going home for a while. thank goodness for the Internet!

Your welcome! I can pick them up for you today if you like. Which ones are you wanting?
I think I would like 2 boxes of the Mickey/Minnie ones. If you are out and about, but don't go out of your way. Thank you!!!!

Happy Birthday Clare!!! I miss having you around!

Nothing additional from the Art teacher. The 2 grades posted for DS in relation to this project are both "100". I will continue to monitor the online grades.

He had a HUGE language arts project assigned a couple of weeks ago. It is relating to a book, and his book has about 450 pages in it. He has been reading every day but he is just now about halfway through. The project is due Friday, and that's the end of the marking period. I am POSITIVE it has to be turned in whether he has finished the book or not. I am really glad we caught this tonight instead of Thursday! The project is to design a movie poster based on the book (pretend the book is a film) and then write a movie review type book report. The poster can be done without finishing the book, so that's what he is doing right now. I'll have him read as much of the book as he possibly can, then he will need to write his "review" on Wednesday. The amount of homework flucuates so much I don't want to wait until Thursday to have him finish up, because he may end up having a ton of stuff to do.:scared:

pixiedust: that it all goes smoothly!

Denise - continued  :wizard: for Rees. I'm glad things are looking a bit up today, and hope the feeds will help him get his strength back so he can heal.

hi everyone-
Just got home--went to the dr after work and have another sinus infection--i give up--cant get rid of these things!

We will be calling hospice this week for grandpa--just wanted to keep ypu updated

 Jen, we used hospice for my aunt and for my grandmother. Both times we had some wonderful people help us. I am so sorry that you are going through this.

 That seems so strange to me! We have them on every street corner. I realize some things are regional, etc but Walgreen's is nationwide -- that's why so many get prescriptions there, since you can get them filled wherever you are. I just assumed they were like McDonald's and Starbucks everywhere else, too!

ETA: Those lights are really cute! I'll definitely have to pick some up!

We have one Walgreens in the area, but it isn't very convenient. It just opened this summer. The Buffalo area hasn't had Walgreens long either, but a little longer than here. I had never been in one until we went to one near Disney in August, 2006. I think we have only one Starbucks, too (plus the one in Barnes and Noble).
