Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Have I mentioned that I hate this chilly weather? :rotfl:

Well it's a very cold 29 degrees here now expected to go into the low 40's. I am not happy.

Oh I hope so, not sure if we will make the MNSSHP next year so the P&P would be a good runnerup.

Temps in the low 50's for us right now, should warm up later. Back to the 80's by the weekend.
I am not sure how I feel about hard-ticket events year round. That will be a planning nightmare. MK will be PACKED on the nights there aren't parties, and people who don't want to go to the parties won't be able to juggle their dates to avoid them. I liked P&PP, didn't LOVE it and absolutely didn't like it enough to pay $50 or whatever to go again. IF they offer AP pricing I might go ahead and buy tickets to go once during our August trip.

Hope today finds you feeling better, Glynis. I woke up this morning with a nasty sinus headache. Took some meds and promptly went back to bed for 2 more hours of sleep. That was delicious!

Feel better, Glynis & Elin!

Good morning :)

Welcome home, Janet! How was Vegas?

Gary & I had a wonderful time in Vegas! The whole trip went so smoothly, it was sorta scary lol We stayed at MGM & I used the check-in at the airport, no lines & a room was ready for us at 10:30 in the morning! We were on the 24th floor & had a pretty good view. I was very pleased with the room & the hotel. It is very big, but there are plenty of signs to find your way around.

We used a shuttle to get to the hotel & we were the 1st stop. By passed the check in lines at the hotel & went right to our room.

We did a lot of walking & sight seeing, so much has changed since we were there last in 92. We decided not to see any shows, which was good. Two days is not enough time. We did make it to the Hofbrauhaus so Gary could eat his German food & have his beer. I was not overly impressed with it, but Gary enjoyed is meal. My favorite part was the dessert lol I ordered a piece of Black Forrest cake & I swear we were given 1/2 a cake  We both dug into it before I thought to take a picture :rotfl:

Besides walking we used a cab a few times & bought a 24 hour pass for the bus. The bus was great for getting us down to Fremont St., but it stops at every Hotel/Casino on the strip. This made for a very long ride. I thought they packed the people on the Disney Buses, but they are nothing like the buses in Vegas & these are even double decker buses :crowded:

Got quite a few things on my must see list done, but still have a lot that we did not get to see. I think we will definitly be going back ::yes::

The Venitian hotel was my favorite, just beautiful! Gary took lot's of pictures & as soon as I get them downloaded I will share them.

This little trip was what Gary & I needed, gave us time to be alone & reconnect

That is wonderful, Janet! Glad you all had such a great time.

It was nice coming home to a clean house last night, but now I have the dreaded laundry to attend to :sad2:

Back to work tomorrow, so guess I should get it started. Oh joy for me :dance3: :rotfl:

Only 40 days till Disney, I can't wait to share this with my family! I am like Tammi & Elin. No future trips planned right now, so no new tickers in the works for me :(

Janet - I am glad you guys had fun!:goodvibes

Still no dates past March for SW, but YIKES!!! the fares in March are scary!:scared1: I was just fooling around and the cheapest flight on the date I put in was $235 ONE WAY!! We can go on American round trip for less than that!

still? all the airlines have just upped their fares. it is scary!

Bernadette - since I couldn't get on here last night I couldn't wish you a great trip. I hope it was wonderful.

Elizabeth - I also couldn't wish you a Happy Anniversary! So a belated wish is headed your way.

Debbie - In case I don't get back on here for some odd reason... have a Magical Trip!

I need to get some things done around the house today. So, have great days, everyone! I will check in later.

Round trip on American is $232 total, taxes & fees included. That's for the first weekend in May, in case I want to go see Bernadette & Emma at WDW. (And maybe go to the pin event.:rolleyes1 ) SW still doesn't have fares out for May but it's not looking good! I hope they continue to have good DING fares or I won't be using that $99 credit!:scared:

Good morning, DDA!

OH...I keep forgetting to post this for Elizabeth:

I called and made a reservation for Pop for Emma & I 5/3 to 5/10 with a AAA discount on the room only. It was $681.81 total for the 7 nights but I had to pay a deposit of $104.23 for the first night. SO the weekends must be 92.65 before tax and the weekdays $84.15 before tax. Hoping for a AP discount.

Yay - glad you guys got a reservation. If our trips go as planned, we should get a chance to meet! :thumbsup2

I'm sure they came out great. I wish I was one of your neices. You have put so much time and effort into this trip. It will be so much fun.

Aww, thanks, Deb! I'm really happy to be able to do this for them. I told Jonathan when I was making the books the other night that I was glad to get to do this for them, in the event I don't get to have a daughter of my own. (God will really prove he has a sense of humor if he gives me nothing but little boys! ) Both the nieces still going on the trip are my favorites (shh! :ssst: ), but then they're very easy to love. :goodvibes

Lindsay, I asked DH about coming back on the flight that gets in at 9:25 PM but that is just too late for him, and it would be late for DS, too. I dind't think we'd have any luck on the Sunday flight, but it was absolutely worth the drive home to get $87 on the flight to MCO!

I thought that might be the case, but wanted to throw it out there as an option. Yay for SW credits! :yay:

yes they are concerned by the time they go in for their 2 week check up they want them to be back at birth weight. but she lost quite a it when she was so jaundiced and not eating much. she got down to 6lb 80z. she is still a little jaundiced. but it is almost gone. yesterday she pretty much fed all day.

I hope she continues to improve, Jennifer! :wizard:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but all you have to do is go to the southwest site and check their fares. If a ding is available, it will reflect that fare. Having ding installed on your computer only notifies you that there is a ding, it doesn't have anything to do with booking.

Hmm, I've never noticed that before! I always click through the individual DINGs. I will have to see if this holds true next time.

I hope you and Richie have a magical time!!:wizard:

Yes, have a great time, Debbie and Richie! :thumbsup2

And Bernadette and Lizzy - hope you're already safely in Orlando! :cloud9:

Thanks for all the well-wishes concerning my sinus infection. My antibiotic kicked in pretty quickly, so I've been sleeping much better. Of course, since daylight savings, Alyssa now wakes up at 7 a.m. "But Mommy, it's light outside."

I hope everyone is having a good week. :wizard: :grouphug: :wave2:

Hope you continue to feel well, Amy! I wish I could wake up as easily as everyone's children seem to.

Lightning McQueen does not like the microwave...

 :scared1:

I'm going to bed. I'm too old for this stuff..:headache:

Oh my! How did the microwave fare in the encounter?

That is often my problem!! I can't seme to implement what's in my head. I hope you posted pictures as I'd love to see them!

Not yet, but I promise they'll come. (This is what happens when you have a husband who's in to photography, and refuses to take a less than perfect photo. He doesn't like photographing anything in fluorescent light, which is the case in our kitchen. )

We met with the pastor at church for Lucy's baby dedication service. This was the first time we've talked since we switched churches. My childhood church has grown so large recently that you feel lost within it and I just haven't felt too at home there. Anyway, he was nice and he was very supportive of our mixed faith household.

Glad things are going along smoothly for that! :wizard:

Good night, everyone! I'm fighting a terrible cold now, and just took some nighttime cold medicine. Before my keyboard starts getting fuzzy, I'm going to curl up in bed!

You, too? Hope you're feeling much better today! :wizard:

Morning DDA! Life's been crazy, no idea why. Work is going good and for some reason the house is staying clean enough - just no idea why there's no computer time at home for me anymore! Found out yesterday my cousin is pregnant (there really is something in the water); she's the one that got married on 7/7. I promise to get the ornament for the exchange out on Friday. No ifs, ands or buts on that one. We've picked a florist. It feels weird that everything is done - except for paying off a few people. Off to go get ready for work! Have a wonderful day DDA!

:woohoo: for having everything picked out, and ready to be paid! That has to feel great, and so far ahead of the game! :thumbsup2

I'm having mixed feelings, too, Elizabeth. I can't imagine how this would affect really high summer crowds.

Our dates in May certainly look like they'll have a P&PP for at least one night, based on the park hours. I wonder why they just don't go ahead and announce that's what they're doing? (Unless they're trying to gauge how 2nd year sales will be.)

Not sure if we'd do it again - if we did, it would probably be for the low crowd factor only. We're slated to stay at the Poly that trip, so we could still enjoy the fireworks, just from across the lagoon.

I'm not seeing SW fares past March. Anybody else having better luck?

It's been my experience that they come out around 10 a.m. It will come up as a DING once they're released.

Hi Elin! It was fantastic, I posted a little bit about it & will get pictures up soon :thumbsup2

Welcome home, Janet! So glad to hear you guys really enjoyed yourselves! :goodvibes

I'm betting we'll see some lower prices from SW, and then maybe some fare sales from the rest of the pack to compete with them the 1st few days the schedule is open. (That has seemed to hold true in the past, at least in the Dallas market.) I actually heard on the radio this morning that Northwest is running a $118 fare into a good portion of 2008 right now between DFW and MCO (of course, it's not direct, though).

I'm glad the board was slow last night, so I didn't miss out on much. ;)

I tackled the actual autograph cards last night. Bernadette was kind enough to send me her files - thanks again, Bernadette!

And, as we would expect nothing less from her, I think I have just about every conceivable character covered. I did add Remy and Emile, as well as Tink, in the event she is out for greets. If I can find some good clip art, too, I'd like to add cards for the different holiday storytellers, too, but we'll see what I can come up with in the next day or so. I really want these to be completely done and wrapped to give to my nieces at Thanksgiving before the weekend!

I printed one set of the cards last night - there are almost 200 of them! They're not going to know what hit them! :rotfl:

And one of our local stations officially changed to the "all Christmas, all the time" format this a.m. I think last year they started the week before Thanksgiving - guess 2 weeks before is now the official start time! Of course, I love it, and it's made me happy this morning.

Now, if the temps just wouldn't crawl back up to 80 this weekend.

Have a great day, DDA!

I hope you are feeling better today.

Thanks, Tammi. I am feeling much better. However, Alan has it now, and it's killing him! He insisted on going in to work, though, since it's the ratings season, so I'm hoping it doesn't turn into bronchitis.

Leslie also woke up in the middle of the night with a high fever and what we like to call "the barking seal" cough. So, she's home from school with me today. Hopefully, it's a fast moving thing, since we have company coming on Saturday!

We sure could use the DDA pixie dust and prayer cycle!
