The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 31

I hate the commercials that have just Jerry Seinfield's mid section and arms moving around.....we haven't been to a movie we paid for since Meet the Robinson's in one of the cheap theaters. Don't see going to a movie theater any time soon....though maybe Enchanted if I can scrounge the money up.

We'll probably go see the Bee Movie because it looks cute. But not this weekend because that checkbook boo-boo was really quite massive.

Elizabeth - I buy Jonathan's and my tickets on the AA website all the time (both paying fares and reward tickets) and have never had a problem doing so. They obviously don't have Jonathan's credit card info. when I'm doing it, either. That just makes no sense - no one could ever buy tickets in groups, then! I would call back - maybe someone from CRO is moonlighting over at AA. ;)

Hmm. You're right. I always book all 3 of us together and pay in a single transaction. I think I will go try to book the tickets now and see what happens. The website specifically says you can't book online for unaccompanied minors, so that might be what is tripping me up. I'll be back shortly!;)

Hi, everyone!

I am sorry I have been MIA, but my ticker has me in full-on panic mode. :scared1: My stomach gets all in knots thinking of all I have yet to do. Thankfully, we're in town all weekend, so I'm going to get off here in a few moments and go make a colossal to do list, and see what all we can get accomplished this weekend!

I've read every word, but most of it is flying around in my head right now, and it won't stay still! A big dose of :cheer2: :thumbsup2 :grouphug: :wizard:  all around!

Denise - you guys have been on my heart today - I'm so glad to hear that things are looking up!

Elin - sorry to hear about your dental problems :scared: - I hope things are much better today! I was also sorry to read about Kathrin's disappointment, although I agree with Marci that it's just that employer's loss. The perfect thing is out there for her - I just know it! :wizard:

Tammi and Elin - the pass came today - thank you so much!!!! Tammi, I'm getting your trade in the mail tomorrow! :goodvibes

I LOVED all the Halloween pictures! The DDA has some great looking kiddos (and adults, too!). All the kids are all looking so much bigger, too - I'm sure you parents already know that, though. Glad to hear everyone had fun! I think we had only a whopping 7 trick-or-treaters, while one of my friends at work guesstimates they saw over 1,000! :scared1: Can you imagine (their neighborhood is apparently notorious for getting into Halloween)?!?!

Update on things in my world - the plans for next month are accelerating full-steam ahead, although we've lost some of our family. One of my BIL, SIL, and their 3 kids aren't going to be able to make the trip after all, due to some financial things that have come up with them. It's disappointing, as I don't see anything like this trip quite happening with the whole familiy again, but things are very strained with them (particularly my SIL) right now, so in hindsight, it's probably best that we don't all have to work on being "civil" for 6 straight days! They're going to reschedule a trip just for them with their allotment of our DVC points likely for next December. (I am excited that I only have to make 2 autograph albums immediately, as I think the thought of doing 5 in the next couple of weeks would likely send me over the edge!)

Oh, and my brother "graduates" from his latest rehab program tonight, and is leaving for Florida on Sunday - no job, no prospects, very little $$. He's just going to "crash" somewhere and try to become a tattoo artist. We'll see what happens with this. I pray that my parents can step back and not rescue him when the proverbial poop hits the fan once again. (Oh, and he's obviously not going to WDW with us anymore, either.) :sad2:

Oh, one last thing, and then I am making myself go accomplish something...

I am looking for any AAA 2007 Diamond Parking Passes that anyone might not be using, and would be willing to sell/trade with me. :goodvibes I have one, but Jonathan wants to see if we can get them for all the cars in our party next month, so I need 2 more. I can always go bid on them over on eBay, but I would much rather pay/trade with friends first for them! :thumbsup2

So, if you have one that you'd be willing to part with, please let me know. We will be using them in the parks from 11/29-12/7, so I can always send it back (or on) to someone else that might be going later in the month.

Thanks, guys! I'll try to be back later. Hope everyone is having a great Friday night! :thumbsup2

Lindsay - Well, AA.com is BROKEN right now! I wonder if I call if they will waive the booking fee for DS OR will they charge a booking fee for BOTH of us to punish me for not doing it online? It says I should call if I need immediate assistance, but I am sure they will fail to see how the tickets I need 10 months from now requires IMMEDIATE assistance.:rotfl2:

Try not to stress over the trip. When you make that list be sure to PRIORITIZE and be willing to let some things go.

I am sorry about your SIL.:guilty: I hope they get things sorted out.
Sorry about your brother, too. Maybe something good will happen and he will finally get his act together.

Tia - I am tempted to say something snarky about Kristi asking you to watch Chase but then getting mad when Chase wants to come to you, but I will refrain.:rolleyes1

I was too ;) :rolleyes1 I don't know what got into her that week. She was a little nuts in general. Maybe too many nights of little sleep finally got caught up with her. Let's see if she's less snarky now that the doc prescribed Ambien.

I hope things go well from here on out! Good luck!:wizard:

Well, the AAdvantage guy was right! I CAN'T book DS on a flight with miles out of his acct. and pay with my credit card! The names MUST match! (Insert scolding finger-shaking smilie here. But not THAT finger, Elin!)

I managed to do my ticket online but it wouldn't let me do DS's. HOWEVER when I called the agent said the system is still down so I could do DS's ticket without the fee for doing it by phone! So now we'll see how long it takes the e-mails of our actual tickets to come since their system is all weird. I may end up having to go back and have them fix mine if it didn't go through properly.

Ah! My receipt just came through, so I think we are good to go! Both ressies show "ticketed" status so DS's receipt should be along shortly. The lady who booked DS's ticket also said there is no change fee as long as it is just a date/time change and there are AAdvantage seats open so that makes me very happy.:)

And now I have DS's receipt! Yay! I booked us in aisle and window. Hopefully no bonehead will come along and book in the middle - that seat is for DH. If DH can't go we will move across the aisle where there are only 2 seats!

I think I would go with the 8/1 flights!:thumbsup2

I pay for the premium service with Kodak. I can get prints for 10 cents each. If you send me a link to your photos I could order the prints for you. I don't know if I can get the 25% off the 10 cents. I was going to try this weekend. When does that code expire?

I placed my order before I read this. Thanks anyway. My order was under $40 including shipping which I thought was fairly reasonable.

Help!! I need some ticket advice please.:goodvibes :goodvibes

Here's the deal. My AP expires on Nov. 30th. That day I will spend at EPCOT.

Then I will be at Disney for 3 more days. Supposed no hopping.:rolleyes1 (we'll see!)

I don't anticipate returning until Dec. 11th of next year.

Should I buy the ap for $336 or just the 3 day pass for $215? confused3 :confused3 The hopper would be $265. When I put it on paper, it looks so simple... renew the ap! But if I don't go back all of next year, I would have spent a lot of money for 3 days... Oh what to do, what to do...

Let me think about this Mrs. Addicted to the mouse. What is the likelyhood that you won't plan another trip in there sometime? If there is even the slightest chance that you will make another trip then I would go with the AP. I'm not sure how you could stand not seeing Mickey for a whole year. :lmao:

Elizabeth is sounds like the trip planning is moving along. I'm glad that things are falling into place.

It sounds like a lot of us have huge to do lists these days. Hopefully we will all be able to make a dent in them this weekend. I plan to be at JcPenney's at 6 AM then off to Kohl's as there are early bird specials that I need and we have bowling at 9 AM. I guess that means I need to get to bed soon.

Denice,

so glad they were able to do it laparoscopically. Glad they were able to fix everything

You should buy a 10 day non-expiring. Whether it has hopping or not is up to you, depending on how you like to tour.
I have to hop! :goodvibes Thanks for your reply!:goodvibes

How about buying the non expiring option of what you can afford now and applying the rest of those days to an AP next December???
That's an idea....:goodvibes

Do you get any other sort of DVC discount? Or only on AP's? I would NOT buy a non expire ticket. You'll just end up with the wrong number of days left on it.

Can you really do that? I thought an AP had to go back to the first day the ticket was used. I don't think they will let you apply the "value" of left over days.

I will use the ticket I had to purchase in August for the DDP toward the renewal of my AP next year but I never used it.
They let me put the value of the one day ticket I bought for the free DDP towards the purchase of this ap, but as you said, I hadn't used the ticket...:goodvibes

And I think we have a winner!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: How could I possibly not see my spouse for a year!!!!  After all, I have 4 trips on this ap. :goodvibes :goodvibes And then I will have nothing stopping me from getting a great Ding and just flying down to meet up with some of you!!:dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

Hello guys! just got home---after work, ended up going to a coworkers house for dinner, a couple drinks ,adn we wathed "the family stone"..so who is still around?!

So question for my texas buddies ;)

Do any of you guys happen to go to Walmart? And if you do, could you check for something for me? My walmart had fleece blankets with the eagles and giants on them for 4 dollars..of course, we dont have any cowboys ones! Ive been wanting to get a cowboys blanket, but most are too expensive for right now. Could anyone see if they have those 4 dollar dallas cowboys blankets for me?

I don't personally go to Walmart, but DH has some as accounts and I can ask him to keep an eye out. I was in Dillard's today and a guy was asking for Cowboys jerseys - the lady said JC Penney has the exclusive rights on their team stuff - not sure if it applies to fleece throws. Maybe look online? Also, Bank of America has some kind of Dallas Cowboys package where your debit card and your checks and everything has Cowboys on them. Not sure where you bank, not sure if it is offered nationwide, but there you have it!;)

Hmm..i checked walmart online and there are no fleece throws--that was my first idea! I can find a ton online, they are just more expensive then i can afford right now--and the 4 dollars for the fleece throw seemed perfect for me!
i do back with bank of america--have to check that out!

thanks

Off to bed for me...Gotta get some cleaning done tomorrow, then i ihave a hair appointment..after that--NO PLANS!! figured i would have a lowkey weekend in order to get ready for the big football game sunday night!

I did a quick search online, too. I see what you mean! Most of them are in the $35-$40 range. DH has a Sam's the next couple of days but he will be on a different route later in the week.

Somebody who lives near us makes A LOT of noise. (This building is stuck together in 3 groups of 6 units. They aren't in my group - maybe in the cluster of 6 beside this one.) I think their windows must be open because they have been laughing and shouting since about 7 PM. But now it is getting LATE and they need to shut up!:rotfl:

Lindsay -- take a deep breath, girl! You have been working so hard on this, it's going to be a marvelous trip! That being said, I understand that - if you're anything like me - that advice might have fallen on deaf ears because everything needs to be perfect, and reanalyzed a few more times.. especially with a trip this big! ;) If that's the case, then do this -- make your list, and take it one step at a time. Get done what you can, some other pieces will fall in line, and then just have faith that it WILL be a magical trip! I can't wait to hear about all of your family members' experiences! :goodvibes

I'm sorry to hear some of your family isn't going to be able to make it. I am especially sorry that includes your brother. I said a prayer for him just now, I know how difficult this is for your entire family. :grouphug:
