thanks for the well wishes on my upcoming surgery. its really not a major surgery because they are doing it laproscopicly. I am having a lapriscopic tubal ligation and an ablation so i can stop taking depo for TOM. Tom is just unhygienic for me so its the best option. i just hope i dont regret it afterwards.

Sending you tons of pixie dust.:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

DH got an invitation to his "office" party. They are having it at TX Stadium. Dress is formal, which I think is odd. I have formal wear, but I am not hiking across the parking lot in formal attire and heels!:scared: The only other formal things I have been to were at the Anatole and the Adam's mark where they have VALET! He hasn't decided if he wants to go or not. It starts at 5 PM so we could go for a little while before he has to go home and go to bed!

That is odd. :confused3 I guess they'll potentially be using some of the private suites? My firm has one, but I've never been to it, although I hear it's nice. I would think if you were going to do something at one of the area arenas, they'd pick the AAC. That is a much nicer facility! Good luck with what you guys decide. Hey, maybe they'll provide valet!

Ditto, Karen! :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Marci - Yay for a good conference! I wish the public schools were better at dealing with ADHD. Or my other wish is that I had $20K per year for tuition at Winston.:rolleyes1 Since neither of those things will happen we will just keep plugging away and do our best to avoid the Attendance Zealot.

I don't blame you! That parking lot isn't the best out there. I bet the event will be in The Stadium Club. I would have DH drop you by the door and then go park. :)
Other than cruise's, we rarely go anywhere fancy enough to get to dress up, so I love it when Randy's Christmas parties are formal.

Lindsay -- I also have my corporate AmEx tied to my personal AmEx Membership Rewards account. Those points, many years ago, paid for a Disney vacation, when WDW had AmEx as their corporate sponsor. Now they just pile up and I use them for hotels... It does bug that American isn't part of that program. I wouldn't have over a million points in my account if they were part of it, as the miles would have all been used by now! ;)

Yes, they did away with their "white glove" program about the time I had enough points to utilize it. I now use the majority of mine on hotels and airfare, too, although I have used them for some gift certificates and things in the past, as well. My next plan is to see if I can utilize some of them to fly overseas with another carrier in '09 for Jonathan's and my 10-year anniversary, but I hear that more and more airlines are making those mileage-reward tickets harder and harder to come by. sigh

Thanks!! We just got back from having Princess's hair cut and we finally found the Ariel Croclings for her. She refuses to take them off, so I hope my bosses don't mind that they were $40!:rotfl2:

That sounds like a procedure for me!!:thumbsup2 I hope it goes well and you are happy with the results!:wizard:

I used to have at least one formal fundraiser every year, sometimes more. I have 3 or 4 "semi-formal" outfits and 2 REALLY formal dresses. One is really more of a ball gown. I love it, but I am NOT going to wear it to the office party!:rotfl: I have some rayon pants that look like a floor length skirt and a velvet jacket so I could wear that if I could figure out shoes that wouldn't pinch my toes. I am thinking black Crocs wouldn't fill the bill.:rolleyes1

Depends...how long are those rayon pants? ;)

Not long enough to cover my Crocs, sadly.:sad2: I have been known to go around barefoot half the night in my long dresses because nobody could tell.:rotfl: I have very wide toes and dressy shoes always pinch.

DH hates to get dressed up so chances are we won't go. The invite says suits for men, not tuxes, but that's way dressier than he prefers.

At my sister's weddings I always wore Danskins slippers to the reception. :rolleyes1

I just read on the Budget Board that the Disney Store has "friends and family" coupons for 30% off this weekend. I could REALLY use one of those!

Anne Marie - Were you guys limited on the # of coupons they gave you? :confused3 I was in the Disney Store today and the girls didn't mention it, which kind of irritates me since I am in there so much and I spend a fair amount of money on their merchandise!

Then I would have to stash my Crocs in my magic bag so I could pick my way through the parking lot at the end of the evening! (And my magic bag is not only HUGE, it is carmel colored. It would not match my outfit!);)

Speaking of coupons, Gymboree is doing "Circle of Friends" coupons for 30% off. I bought Princess 4 outfits and 2 pairs of socks for $80 today. All of the things were on sale, then we got the extra 30% off. They just had the coupons at the register.

Lindsay - I mailed your check today. Thanks again!:goodvibes

The memorial service was nice, but very long. 2 hours and 15 minutes. She was a professional singer and there were a lot of song tributes to her, kind of a mini concert. Family and Friends also got up and spoke about her. It was very touching.

Nick is on :cloud9: He will receive a high honors award at the awards ceremony on Monday. Hunter's teacher didn't send his report card home as we haven't had his conference yet. Apparently we won't get his grades until Tuesday.

Has anyone ordered any of the personalized Disney ornaments? Any problems? I ordered one, it came but wasn't engraved. So I called them up and they said they would put in a reorder and then confirmed what was supposed to be engraved. So today I got the second ornament, which still wasn't engraved! I wonder what I'm going to have to do to get them to get it right?

Speaking of forgetting...I keep meaning to ask you for your recipe for white chili. I'm thinking that you had one your girls really liked? My mom has been wanting some and the beans that had a good recipe last year have changed their label. Thanks!

Wow, you have a good memory. Becky & I had some awesome white chili for the first time ever over a year ago. Becky doesn't like chili but she loved the white chili. However, we don't have a recipe. I asked at the time if anyone had a good one that they were willing to share. I don't think anyone had one but maybe there is someone that does now.

Where has Theresa been lately? I don't think I've seen her post.
