I should be in bed, but my third shifter mind is telling me no!

I have to brag on Leighanna. She now knows how to tie her own shoes, and she can READ! She has taken to it so fast! It seems like just last week she was just learning, and now she is reading much harder words and very long sentences. I guess no spelling things out to my wife anymore! Leighanna will be able to decipher it!

Hooray Leighanna! :cheer2:

To everyone leaving soon, safe travels. I hope the weather holds out for everyone! We are supposed to have rain mixed with sleet tomorrow, but they are not calling for anything too horrible.

We have breakfast with Santa in the morning at Leighanna's school, and then they have a shop set up with low priced things for Leighanna to purchase. They really shouldn't do this this far away from Christmas. I know that Leighanna can't keep secrets, and will be telling all that she got!

Have a great evening all!

That's what our weather looks like, too (shocking since we're so far away from one another! ;)) ... it's been COLD here though! The high has gotten up to near 40 sometimes, but only for about an hour. Most of the day hovers between 20 and 32! :cold:

I can remember when my kids were little, we could take them to J C Penneys and they could buy presents. They had a little shop set up and all of the parents would sit outside while the kids shopped. I could give an amount they were allowed to spend and the 'Helper' would help the kids pick them out and wrap them. Hal's folks still have the thing they use to fan the fire in the fireplace. It was so cute cause they would not tell anyone what they bought.

That is so cool! We never had anything like that, just the Santa Shop like Leighanna's scool. I was always too picky to like anything from there, but the JC Penneys thing sounds great. I don't think they do anything like at any stores around here.

Ok, gotta run! My mom, sister and I (and Kyle this year... strange   ) are having our annual Cookie Day. I still need to pick up a bit downstairs and finish making aprons for them! This gets to be more work every year! :rotfl:

My dog has entered her second babyhood, I fear. She is now waking me up to be let out and fed at 4:00 AM! Yesterday I was able to go back to sleep but not this morning. :sad2:

I have cleaned the kitchen, run the dishwasher, dusted the living room, caught up on the DIS and picked a hotel (I think ;) ) for our DC trip. At 10:00 I have dress rehearsal for our holiday choral concert at the University which will be tomorrow night at 7:00. I am hoping I have enough energy left this afternoon to put up the Christmas tree and decorate the front of the house since we are to get yucky weather tomorrow!

So... Good morning, DDA! :sunny: Stay warm and dry and safe on the streets. I will check in later, if I can get back on here.

Good Morning.

Congrats to all of you going to WDW THIS MONTH We are so jealous

We have bowling in a few minutes so I need to get ready. Have a wonderful day DDA !!!

Sunday is his actual birthday. I can't believe he is going to be 8. I don't have a little boy anymore. He's turning into a big kid.

Big kids aren't so bad. I do kind of miss the days when DS was in preschool, but then I feel bad for missing those days and not appreciating him as a big kid.

I loved it! Emma did too. Molly was a little scared at the end.

It really was a good movie! DH was talking about it last night. I am glad you enjoyed it!

Well, I think everyone is asleep. Alyssa and Bethany are in her bed, the 3 boys are in the living room on the floor, and Bob is in the formal living room on the couch. I'm in my bed all comfy! Nicholas was a little leary sleeping downstairs so Bob volunteered to camp out a safe distance away from him. All in all the night went well. The girls played great together, and the boys played Pokemon cards (I so don't get that game) and video games most of the night.

We have such a big day tomorrow. In the morning there is a pancake breakfast at the school that we will go to after the boys get picked up. They also have a holiday shop at school so the kids can go 'shopping'. Then in the afternoon Nicholas and Alyssa each have birthday parties to go to. Bob volunteered to take Nicholas to his, while I take Alyssa to hers. I had told their dad about it last week to give him the opportunity to step up to the plate. Needless to say, it didn't happen. Then tomorrow night is our annual Christmas parade. Somewhere in there I think we all are going to need naps!

That sounds really fun! I have to buy groceries and clean. Boring.

I should be in bed, but my third shifter mind is telling me no!

Good for her!! That is exciting!
Princess has started talking A LOT. It seems like all of a sudden she has started putting 3 words together. At home she talks all the time. Out in public she won't say a word if other people are around. I think she wants it to be a secret that she can talk.:rotfl2:

Oh one more thing....

WE ARE GOING TO DISNEY THIS MONTH!
:dance3: :dance3: :dance3: :dance3:

YAY!!!!:dance3:
Oh, and ME TOO!!!!

Just wait until NEXT year...:rolleyes1 ;)

That's terrific. Isn't it amazing how fast they learn? They are like sponges.

Kristine - Did I understand correctly in your post to Janet that AKV guests have access to the concierge lounge? Just crunching numbers for '08 and want to make sure I have all of my facts straight! Thanks!:)

EDIT: Never mind! I see that you have to book a concierge villa. Now I get it.

Good morning everyone! I am hopelessly behind so I'm just going to stop and join in here. Someone please let me know if I missed anything big.

We had a great time in Branson last weekend! It got pretty chilly on Sat so a few of the rides that Rachel wanted to do were closed, but we still ran out of time to do everything. Terra loved it all and keeps wanting to know when we can go back again. Hopefully we can plan something for one of mom's vacation weeks next year and go for more than a couple of days. We can back in time for Chase's 1st birthday party. It's amazing how much the tiniest bit of black icing can spread from head to toe on a 1yo.

The rest of the week has just been lots of Christmas doings. We put the tree up yesterday and will decorate it tomorrow. Shopping is 95% done and the wrapping has begun. Baking time is coming up as well. Yippee!!!! Add to that Phil finally seeming to get over his bronchitis and things are going pretty well.

How's everyone else doing?

Hi, Tia! Glad to hear that Phil is feeling better! Sounds like Branson was a hit! My cousin who lives in KC is always trying to get us to meet them in Branson, but I would prefer to convince her to meet us in WDW!:rotfl2:

I am not feeling the love this year when it comes to snow!! and it looks to be headed our way....

I have to get the kids up and head out for boots....each year that experience become a little worse than the year before. The only easy one is Christoper who will pick out the first pair of boots that he sees so he can be done! Jackie tries on 50 pairs and hates all of them :scared1::scared1: It was so nice in the old days being able to buy cheap boots from Walmart and everyone liked them

Christopher sounds like DS. He hates to shop for clothes or shoes.
Jackie sounds like DH. He will go from store to store and try on pair after pair of shoes and 5 hours later he still isn't any closer to having shoes than when we started.:headache:

I am glad we don't have weather that requires boots!:scared:

Abi sounds like Christopher. Jim AND Cassidy are the same way about all shoes...except Cassidy will look at 80 shoes hate them all...try another 40 on, hate those too and we will come out empty handed (can you tell we haven't found new dress shoes for Christmas:headache: )

So if the Vacation Bid gods and the Bounce Back gods are smiling on us I think we might do AKL concierge next year. BUT DH has to get the week of 8/10 off and AKL concierge has to be available on Bounce Back.

If DH is off the week of 8/3 and we stay in a pool view at AKL then move to Pop when DH goes home it will cost $2423. If we stay at Pop until 8/10 and then move to AKL concierge on Bounce Back on 8/10 it will cost $2584. Complete no-brainer. OF COURSE I want to stay 7 nts. concierge for $161 more! But the dates and offers have to work first.:rolleyes1

All 3 of us would be at Pop for a night or 2, but that's not a problem. I just don't like for all of us to be at Pop for long trips because of the bed situation.

Too many variables. My head might pop off before I get to WDW.:rotfl2:

Good morning everyone!
I was up til almost 4am so i slept in til a little after 11--it was great :)

now im going to get ready and head out for the day--soccer game, movies, and dinner :)

have a great day
