Hey strangers...

Hope everyone is enjoying their thanksgiving. I know we are as we have many things to be thankfull for this year. Specifically the one sleaping on the living room floor right now.

However I'm not sure how thankfull I am for tomorrow... I turn 40 and that is a real Black Friday!

It's great to see you posting again. Shall we assume that things are getting a bit easier allowing you a free moment to two? Your photos are as precious as those 2 beautiful children. A birthday is just another day, we are only as old or young as we feel.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

The stuffing is made, the rolls are done, another pumpkin pie is cooling, and the turkey is roasting in the oven. All I have left to do is the sweet potatoes. They'll go in the oven while the turkey is "resting." So, I find myself with a few minutes to come here and visit.

Jen - I'm praying for your family. We love you!

Jennifer - LOVE THE ANNOUNCEMENT!!! We're still praying for your bundles of joy! Alan is just as excited as I am! Again, our congratulations.

Mac - Your family is BEAUTIFUL!!! It's so nice to see you posting again! Don't worry about your birthday. It's really not so bad to be 40.

Alan and I went through the Black Friday ads, and I know that we want to hit Walmart for a couple of things. Alan has a question mark about a couple of other things, so we'll see if it pans out or not. I've never shopped on Black Friday, so it's kind of exciting!

Since you've all been talking about deviled eggs, I'm craving them!!! Guess I'll make some for our dinner. Shouldn't take long, and I can do that while the turkey is roasting.

I'm 5'5" and John is 6'0". How tall is Chris? Thanks for the info. Are you comparing it to the Macleran Major Special Needs stroller? We will start the process Monday. Rees has a rental wheelchair for now, but we need a permanent one. Our insurance will cover it, thank goodness. Thanks for the help!!!

That is the Mac that I was referring to. They said that it is build much the same quality as the other Mac, just made for larger kids. The Convaid Cruiser is high quality and build to last. We opted for larger wheels, but not the really large rear wheels. We wanted a chair that would push easily. I think we have 6" wheels all around. Chris is 5' 10" and insists that when we get a chair for Colby that the handles be higher. Our Maclauren has higher handles than the convaid. I need to call Monday to get the process moving for Colby. Since our Podiatrist and the Medical Supply company has been through this once and they share the same diagnosis I am thinking that things should go smoothly, but with any insurance issues I'll expect the worst.

Adaptivemall.com is a great place to look at what is available and see what your options are.
The Maclaren Special Needs strollers have been made for at least 25 years that I know of and they are a good choice for someone who doesn't have many positioning needs (they are meant for people with mild to moderate disabilities).
The Convaid Cruisers have more positioning options and would be suited for someone with more severe disabilties than the Mac Major strollers are. They are more expensive, so you may need more documentation/evidence of need for that rather than a less expensive one.
Adaptivemall has a lot of other special needs strollers and travel chairs besides just those 2, so it's a good place to look.

It's on cardstock, printed the right direction (turned right-side up here so you can read it easier ), and pressed into a nicely folded card. I have one for my mom, dad and cassi so they can read it at the same time - even though it's all the same.

Oh, Jennifer, just reading that brought tears to my eyes. I can't wait to hear the reaction!

We had a really nice day. I got to myBob's around 11:30. The kids played outside since it was 70 degrees while Bob, his mom and I sat and visited and worked in the kitchen. His mom is very nice. I was impressed that she took Nicholas aside and played cards with him or read with him when he was getting shunned by the girls. We ate around 2 and after we cleaned up we sat and played some games. Then just more visiting until it was time to come home. The kids were exhausted. Tomorrow we decorate!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day. I see many of you have been studying the ads. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't even looked at them.
