I just packed the boys clothes for while we are gone. It was much easier packing for them than it was for us. Of course if I forget anything for them they are only 10 miles from home

I promise I have read all day today....it was one of the days/weeks that reminded me why I am on the hunt for a new job.

Lord help me.....Katie is going through terrible patch where she is ignoring me & when she does answer it "yes...moooommmmm" (like I am bothering her). I am going to pull my hair out (or hers!). She's always angry & moody. It's not hormones, she is just so fresh...She has an answer for everything.
I really need to go to Disney & have a break from all the arguing with her.

This morning it was 50 degrees & she came down dressed in shorts & tee shirt. She raised all heck when I told her to put on pants. She said "you just hate me!" What????If I hated her I'd let her get cold!!!! I don't get it!!! I wasn't raised by my mother & I just don't understand her annomousity towards me, like I am just so "uncool". I am going to scream!!!!

I love her so much but I don't enjoy this part of her personality...oh I need a "mommy's time out"

Sorry for the rant, I just feel so helpless & saddened by her attitude.

Anne Marie - I'm sorry you are having a hard time with her.
I think it is an age thing. I tell DS to do something. He says OK, and continues to sit there and NOT do what I said. So I tell him AGAIN, and he gets all snarky! Then he stomps off, slams the door, and acts like doing anything is a HUGE inconvenience for him.
The slightest criticism and he says "I'm just a horrible kid!" Um, no, but he certainly acts like a horrible kid on occasion!

I think that it is in the air. Hunter (almost 10) was telling me that I was the worst Mommy in the world because I wouldn't tell him what his birthday present is. He carried on for over an hour we were in the car then at my parents house. Nick has also been acting out, he just turned 12 so some of it is hormones, but certainly not all of it. I just consider that they are "testing" me and I make Darn sure that I follow through on all threats and promises.

Disney will make it all better for all of us

I am really sorry you are having a hard time with her. On the clothes though...I have found as long as it passes school code to let that fight go....there are bigger battles to come.

If you want please give me a jingle....if nothing else that 5 minutes can be your time out.

Well we went to see her Dr this afternoon., she had a low grade fever when she woke up this morning, was complaining of her tummy hurting. She thru up twice on the way to my Drs appt. and several times since. she has fallen asleep several times today but has not gotten to sleep longer then an hour. The Drs not sure what is wrong. did strep test it was neg. they gave her a breathing treatment which helped a little with her breathing. she has hardly drank anything today. has not eaten anything.

Good morning everyone! Where did this chilliness come from?!?! It was 45 when I took Phil to work this morning. Brrr!

I still need to catch up from yesterday, but that will have to wait until this afternoon as I have to make Dad's lunch and then take him to get his van. After that we've got to go buy a new harddrive so that Phil can resurrect our computer this weekend. Windows decided to lose a necessary file the other day so he has to wipe it all and start from scratch...after moving our files off of course!

Before I go though, I have two urgent prayer requests if you all could add them to the DDA list.

First, a good friend from our CA playgroup has a little boy who just turned 5. When he was a baby we use to call him my boyfriend because he was always so attached to me. Anyway, they found out on Tues that he has juvenille diabetes. His name is Ryan and he is struggling to accept the whole blood test/insulin/no Halloween candy thing. Also, his mom, Heidi, is struggling with the initial shock of the diagnosis, guilt that she didn't notice the issues sooner and grieving the loss of a "normal" life for her son. Luckily, the doctors say they caught it early and expect him to be able to regulate things fairly easily.

Second, and even more scary...Brendan's mom's boyfriend (been together 5+ years) was in a motorcycle accident sometime yesterday evening. He has at least one broken arm and probably two. The worst though is his leg. The doctor said that he has an 80% chance that he will lose his right leg. They should know better today what the prognosis is and their next steps. Terry is in his 50s, I believe, and loved his motorcycle. A very nice man and so good for Brenden's mom after the rough life she had with his dad.

That is not what you need this close to your due date. Hopefully it is just a 24 hour thing and will be gone quickly.

my "boss" called about an hour ago and said that his mil will be doing my job so i dont have a job anymore and i just f****** got another phone line put in for this job. i am so pissed now because he was someone willing to give me a chance. no one else wants to or will hire me so i guess i sit on my butt the rest of my life.
